1) 愛すべきものたち / Lovable Ones

私のアレンジ

おしゃれで豪華なフラワーアレンジメントでしたが
10日後にはこれだけになってしまいました。
冬なら、もう少し残っていたかもしれません。
もとのフラワーアレンジメントとは比べものにはなりませんが
私は結構、これも気に入っています。

My Arrangement

It had been a stylish and gorgeous flower arrangement, 
but after 10 days, this is all there was left.
If it was winter, there might have been a little more.
It doesn't compare to the original flower arrangement, 
but I quite like this too.

Yumieちゃんから愛らしいものたちが送られてきました。
'お礼' ということですが、もうすでに、
たくさんのものを彼女からいただいていました。
それでも彼女の選ぶものたちがどれも可愛らしいので、
拒むことはできません (笑)。

Yumie Chan sent me lovely things
as a 'Thank you', but I had already been given 
many things from her.
Still, everything she chooses is cute, 
so I can't refuse (Laugh).



2) 仙台ワイン / Sendai Wine
8月13日、仙台の友人、Hさんから、
仙台のワインが届きました。
ありがとうございました。

  Sendai wine arrived on 13th of August
from Sendai friend H San.

秋保 (アキウ) ワイナリー: ★で作られたワインです。
このワイナリーは2015年に創業しました。
東日本大震災以降、地域復興を目的にしてます。

They were made in Akiu Winery : ★ (only in Japanese).
This winery was established in 2015.
After the Great East Japan Earthquake, 
they are aiming for regional reconstruction.

補足；
シュール・リー (Sur Lie) は、フランス語で『澱の上』という意味です。
シュール・リーのワインは、ラッキング (ワインをろ過するプロセス)なしで、澱から直接瓶詰めされます。

According to Wiki about Sur Lie,
"Sur lie literally translates from French as 'on lees'. Sur lie wines are bottled directly from the lees without racking (a process for filtering the wine)."

ディスプレイコーナー / Display Corner 
左の額には、第5回個展 "Coonie's Quest in Britain, 2007" のDMが入っています。

左の磁器皿は、今年の個展、"Coonie's SKY, 2022" のために作りました。

かすかなヒビが見られ、展示はできませんでした。

ピンクの磁器のリングも今年の個展のためにつくりましたが、色が他と合わず、展示できませんでした。

カレンダーは友人イラストレイターのMasumiちゃん作です。

手前のひめくりカレンダーは、友人Kちゃんからのプレゼントで、毎日違う美しい写真と色の名前、由来が載っています。

複数の暑中見舞いのカードも友人たちからです。

どうもありがとう！


Photograph Description
Framed on the left is the invitation card for my 5th exhibition "Coonie's Quest in Britain, 2007".

The porcelain plate on the left was made for this year's exhibition "Coonie's SKY, 2022" .

However, a faint crack is seen, and exhibiting was not possible.

I also made a pink porcelain ring for this year's exhibition, but the colour didn't match the others, so I didn't display it.

The calendar is made by my illustrator friend Masumi Chan.

The page-a-day calendar in the foreground was a gift from my friend K Chan, and it has a different beautiful picture every day, with the name of the main colour, and its origin.

Also, several summer greeting cards are from friends.

1) 真夏の日差し / Midsummer Sunshine
鎌倉図書館から予約本が入った連絡があったので、その本を借りに行きました。

と、同時に、本の返却もしました。

8月の午後の日差し(14:20頃)は、きついです。

写真にもそれが見て取れます。

By mid-August, I'm used to hearing cicadas's callings.
Midsummer Sunshine
I got an e-mail from the Kamakura Library about my reserved book, so I went to borrow there.

And at the same time, I returned a book.

The August afternoon sun (around 14:20) is harsh.

I can see it in the photograph too.





2) 鎌倉図書館 / Kamakura Library
鎌倉図書館 
建築的には、なんの面白味もありませんが
図書館のサービスは素晴らしいです。
図書館員も優しく、今まで、嫌な思いをしたことは
一度もありません。

Architecturally, it's nothing fancy, 
although the library service is great.
The librarians are kind, and I've never had a bad experience.

借りた本については、後日、本のセクションに載せるつもりです。

I will post about the books I borrowed in the books section at a later date.

1) 作品梱包 / Work Packing
私の作品が『第3回枕崎国際芸術賞展』に入選 : 1次審査しました。

応募作品数1,128点 (過去最多数)で、69点が 、1次審査を通過し、2次審査に入ります。


1次審査は、16倍以上の倍率でしたので、私としては喜ばしい結果です。


1次審査はネットで行われましたが、2次審査は実際の作品を見て行われます。


2次審査に向けて、本日、作品を梱包しました。


近日中に発送します。


Work Packing
My work was selected for 
 I passed the first screening.

Of the 1,128 entries (the highest number ever), 69 have passed the first screening and will enter the second screening.

Less than 1 in 16 made it through the first round of judging, so I am happy with the result.

The first judging was done online, but the second judging will be done by looking at the actual works.

I packed my work today to send for the second screening.

I will send the box soon.
The 3rd Makurazaki International Art Award Exhibition
Makurazaki is a city located in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan.
 The city was founded on 1st of September, 1949.

2) 応募について 
　About Competition Application
この作品は、2019年の個展 
「Coonie's Exhibition – Looking for Light,  光を求めて, 2019」
に展示しました(下記)。
❹リトグラフ/ Lithographs

今年4月の個展 : "Coone's SKY, 2022" で、少し '転機' を感じました。

「野に生きよう！」

と決めて公募展の応募をしていませんでしたが、

『してみてもいいかな？』

と思いました。


歴史ある公募展は派閥があるので、できるだけ新しい公募展がいいだろうと思い、
応募期間もちょうど良い『第3回枕崎国際芸術賞展』というのを見つけて応募してみました。

磁器作品は、配送方法に不安があり、応募せず、平面作品だけ応募しました。

私の作品の多くはシリーズで見せるものなので、入選だけでも、私にとっては、’快挙’ です。

友人・知人・家族に応援して頂いているおかげで、作品制作を続けて来られましたし、続けても行けます。

ありがとうございました。

About Competition Application
This work was exhibited in 2019's Exhibition : 
 "Coonie's Exhibition – Looking for Light, 2019".

At my exhibition in April this year, I felt I was at a little 'turning point', below.

Previously I had decided to 
"Stick within my own world!" 
and so I didn't apply for inclusion in public exhibitions, however, during this year's Exhibition I thought
 'Could I try? '

Since there are long established public exhibitions which have factions, I thought it would be good to take part in new public exhibitions as much as possible.

I didn't apply for any of my porcelain works to be selected, because I was worried about the sending method, so I only applied for the two-dimensional works.

Most of my works are shown in series, so for just a single work to be selected is a feat for me.

Thanks to the support of my friends, acquaintances, and family, I have been able to continue creating works, and I will continue to do so.

Thank you very much.

I am are looking forward to making my work.

1) 女子会 / Girls’ Night
今日、お泊まりのゲスト、4名を迎えました。

自宅に4名のゲストが一度に泊まるのは初めてでした。

4人の友人たちは、私が英国留学する前からの友人です。

それぞれすでにお互いを知り合う中です。

個人的な家で一同で泊まるのでは、初めてでした。

個別に、それぞれが合うにしても久しぶりでした。

私たちが出会った当時と、それぞれの人生が変わり、その道も遠くなったように感じます。

それでも、こうして同じ場所と同じ時間を共有できたことが、ラッキーだったと思います。

みんなの協力があったからこその女子会でした。

楽しかった〜〜！

みんなも楽しいと思ってくれていたらいいな〜と願っています。

みんな、ありがと〜〜！

私がヘタレで、お泊まりの準備や料理で疲れて、夜の時間をゲストとさいごまでおつきあいできず、最初に寝てしまいました。

まあ、このようなホストとしてのマナー違反が許されると私が思い、彼女らに甘えられるのは、友人と思えばこそできる所業です。

私が寝た後も4人は、おしゃべりを続けたことを翌日知り、ほっとしました。

翌朝の食事も、アルコールつきで、楽しくおしゃべりをしました。

朝食のメインはKちゃんが買ってきてくれた上等なパンでした。

彼女はそれだけでなく、それぞれ全員に上等なお出しもプレゼントしてくれました。

どうもありがとうございました！

Girls’ Night
Today, I welcomed four staying guests.

It was the first time I had four guests staying in my house at once.

These four have been my friends since before I went to study in Britain.

They already knew each other.

It was the first time for us to stay together in a private house.

It's been quite a while since we've all met together.

Even if we met individually, it would be also been a long time. 

I feel that each of our lives has changed since we first met, and our paths have become further apart.

Still, I think I was lucky to be able to share the same place and time like this.

It was a girls' association because of everyone's cooperation.

I was fun~~!

I hope everyone enjoyed it too.

Thank you everyone~~!

I'm a wimp, I was tired from the preparations for the stay and the cooking, so I couldn't keep up with the guests until the end of the night, so I fell asleep first.

Well, I think that this kind of bad manners as a host was forgiven, and being spoiled by them is something I can do only if I think of them as friends.

I was relieved to find out the next day that the four of them continued to chat after I went to bed

The next morning's meal was also with alcohol, and we had a good time chatting.

The main breakfast was high-quality bread that K Chan brought for us.

Not only that, but she also gave each of us fine Japanese stock.

2) A ちゃんとTちゃん / A Chan &T Chan
TちゃんとAちゃんから手作りの梅酒を毎年いただいています。

今日も新しい梅酒をもってきてくれました。

梅酒はほかの二人にも用意してくれていました。

重いのに、手荷物の中に入れてきてくれました。

ありがとうございます。

個性的でかわいらしい柄です。
偶然にもディスプレイしてあった私の作品の盃の色が似ています。
この作品は英国の学生時代に作りました。

From T Chan
It has a cute and unique pattern.
Coincidentally, the colours are similar to my works ; cups
that were displayed.
I made these pieces when I was a student in Britain.
A Chan &T Chan
Every year, I receive handmade Umeshu : plum wine from T Chan and A Chan.

They brought me a new Umeshu today as well.

Umeshu was also prepared for the other two.

Even though these are heavy, they put them in their bags.

3) またいつか... / Again Someday...
今夏、夫Rが英国で、私は日本滞在でなおかつ、まだ個展準備にはいっていませんでした。

この機会を利用し、'ゲスト月間' にしようと複数の友人を自宅に招きました。

今回の4人は、その中で、一度に迎えるゲストとしては最多でした。

これが、今夏、友人を迎える最後の機会でした。

フィナーレにふさわしく、賑やかで、リラックスし、飲む量も結構あり(笑)、楽しかったです。

これからも、みんなが健康で、幸せに送れる日々でありますように。

また、いつか、集まれる機会がありますように！

忙しい中、時間を作ってくれて、本当にありがとう！！！


Again Someday...
This summer, my husband R had been in Britain and I have been in Japan, and I hadn't started preparing for my exhibition yet.

I took this opportunity to invite several friends to my home for 'Guest Months'.

Of these visits, the four this time were the most guests I welcomed at once.

This was my last chance to welcome friends this summer.

Suitable for the finale, it was lively, relaxed, and we drank quite a lot (laugh), so it was fun.

From now on, I hope everyone will be healthy and happy every day.

I hope we have the opportunity to meet again soon!
