初めて一人で外出をしました。最後にRと散歩に出たのが5月19日でだったので、一ヶ月近く家の中だけでした。そういえば、一度だけ鎌倉宮のバス停までは行きました.....。
磁石はとっても小さいのにその力は強いのです。外見がかわいいだけでなく、機能としてもすぐれているので、さすが日本製！と思います。ゴムはまだ使用していませんが、きっとこれも同様でしょう。

なにをするにものろいので、家の中の事と自分の事をするので精一杯です。ですが、手術したしないにかかわらず、家からあまり出ない私の生活でしたから、自分としては通常通りに思えます。ただ東京にコンサートや展覧会などにまだ出かけられないのは残念なことです。

Go Out
It was the first time I went out on my own. My last walk with R was on 19th May, so I had stayed at home for about one month.
Oh! I went to Kamakura-gu bus stop once.
I do everything slowly, so all
I could do was housekeeping and look after myself. Although whether or not I had the operation, I do not go out often in my life, so I do feel these days are normal for me, except that I could not go to Tokyo for exhibitions or concerts and so on. It is just too bad.
2) 豊島屋 / Toshimaya
A. 本店 / Main Shop
今日は鳩サブレで有名な豊島屋の本店へ行きました。本店は若美大路沿いにあります。
豊島屋さんはいつも混んでます。定員さんの応対はいつも丁寧で謙虚、老舗の良さを感じます。
Main Shop
I went to Toshimaya main shop which stand along Wakamiya-Oji Street. Toshimaya has a very popular biscuite as souvenir of Kamakura, it is called Hato-Sabure.
Toshimaya is always crowed. The shop assistants are always polite and humble here and I feel virtuous and well-establish.

They are only sold in the main shop.
The magnets are very tiny although its power is strong. They are not only looking lovely but also work well. They are made in Japan!!!
I haven't used the rubber yet, I believe it is good quality too.
3) 新しいお店？ / New Shop?
吉兆美術館のすぐ近くにあるビル１Fに鎌倉らしからぬ？ブティックを見つけました。
まだ英国に住んでいて、鎌倉に下見に来たときにこのビル３Fの 'カフェ•ゴーティー
Café GOATEE'
に寄ったことがありました。個性的な雰囲気でしたね。食事もして意外に美味しかったので驚いたことを憶えています (失礼！) 。
食べられないものが多いRの食事にも、配慮をしていただいたと思います。でも私達が何を食べたかは憶えていません。
また行きたいと思いつつも、なかなか２度目はありません。
確か２Fはおしゃれなアンティーク屋さんだったように思います。そのとき1Fがこのブティックであったかどうかを憶えていません。
今回この店に気がついたので、私にとっては新しいお店です。店構え同様、清楚な感じがする洋服の品揃えでした。
New Shop?
I found un usual boutique in Kamakura which is on the ground floor, close to Kicho Museum.
サトちゃんは今年52歳。笑
鎌倉図書館は、今年開館100周年にあたり、右のようなポスターをつくっています。
This library is celebrating its 100th anniversary, so they made this poster (see above picture).
When I lived in Britain, I came to Kamakura with R for researching our accommodation and visited
'Café GOATEE'
which is a second floor in this building.
I felt the cafe has a strong personality. I remembered that
I was quite surprised that the meal was better than
I thought. (Sorry!)
I think they made arrangements for R's meal, because R cannot eat a few ingredients, although I did not remember what we had. I would visit the cafe, although it is quite difficult making second times.
I think probably the first floor is a stylish antique shop.
At that time, I did not remember this boutique was there.
I noticed it in this time, so it was the first shop for me. I felt their clothes were neat and clean as the look of the shop.

踏切手前に薬局があり、このディスプレイがあります。
こどもの頃、小型のサトちゃん(オレンジの象)を持っていて、結構お気に入りだったので、ここを通るたびに目がとまります。
ピンクの象は、サトちゃんの妹のサトコちゃん。
私がこどもの頃はなかったと思う.....
Sato Chan
There is a pharmacy before a railway crossing. The window display of the pharmacy shows a well-known character Sato Chan of Sato Pharmaceutical Co.Ltd.
When I was a child, I had a small model Sato Chan (orenge colour figure), and it was my favourite toy.
Every time I pass, they catch my eyes. The pink elephant, Satoko Chan, is Sato Chan's younger sister. I think that when I was a child, she was not yet bourn!?

濃いピンクが加えられています。
ロボットに近くなったように思います。以前のものは手描きでデザインされ、これはコンピューターを使用してデザインされたのだな〜と感じるラインです。
今のこどもはみんなこぎれいで清潔、昔のような乳臭さ？または泥臭さ？を私はあまり感じません。そんな現代的なこどもにあわせるように、デザインされたのが、新しい サトちゃんとサトコちゃんのように思います。
彼らは製薬会社のイメージにあっていますね。
けれども、私は'自分のサトちゃん'に愛着があるので、思い出として以前の方が好きです。
私は、整理されすぎた新しいラインに怖さを感じます。アートに怖さを感じることはよくありますし、それは良いことだと私は思っています。けれど、このような'かわいい'キャラクターに怖さを感じるなんて、私は変ですか？
因に3月10日は'サトーの日'なのだそうです。

Their design had renewal (see above picture), so they became slim and their arms and legs are longer.
Green has now been added to Sato Chan's eyes and deep pink has been added to Satoko Chan's eyes.
I think they are close to robots. From their lines, I feel that the previous designs were by hand and the present ones were by computer.
Nowadays children are neat and in good trim, I do not feel about them like erstwhile children who smell of milk or of mud. I think the new Sato Chan and Satoko Chan were designed as though they are modern children. I think they try to suit the ideal image of a pharmaceutical company. However, I am still attached to 'My Sato Chan',
I like the previous design as I remember it.
I feel scared by the new lines, because they are too trim or too tidy. I think it is quite good that people are sometimes scared by arts, however, I feel fear when I look at 'lovely' characters like that. Am I strange?
By the way, Sato's Day is '10th March' which is Japanese pronunciation close to Sato.
5) もうすぐ七夕 / It will soon be Tanabata Festival
この飾り付けによって、七夕が近いことを知りました。この他にもスーパーマーケット、駅、商店で七夕様の飾り付けを見ました。そういえば、帰りのバスから八幡様前に大きな竹の飾り付けを見ました。
It will soon be Tanabata Festival
This display reminds me of Tanabata which is Festival of the Weaver Star (Star Vega) and 7th of July in most areas of Japan. Some areas of Japan, Tanabata is 8th of August, because they follow the old calendar. Kamakura has Tanabata is 7th July, so it is coming soon.
I saw some displays in supermarkets, the station and shops. Oh! Yes! I saw a big bamboo tree with decorations in Hachiman-gu from a bus on my way home.
6) 恐怖の踏切 / Fear Railway Crossing
鎌倉駅北側の踏切を渡るとき、ちょとした緊張感が私にはあります。
以前、Rとリハビリをかねた散歩で、ここに来ました。電車の通過待ちを人、車、バイクなどがしていて、遮断機があがったときには一斉に渡りはじめました。私は、その込み合いが済むのを待って渡り始めましたが、まだ私達が踏切内にいるうちに警告音が鳴りました。そのころは今よりも歩くのも遅いし、もちろん走ることはできません。私の中では精一杯はやく歩き、
遮断機が降りてくる下を通り抜けました。
今回は、Rもいないので心細さもありました。健常者にはなんでもない踏切を渡るのに、ちょっと憂鬱な気分になります。
Fear Railway Crossing
When I walk across the level crossing just north of Kamakura station (see above photograph), I am a little bit nervousness.
As part of my rehabilitation, I walked here with R. We had to wait for the train to pass. After the crossing gate opened, people, cars, and bikes went across all at once.
I would avoid the crush, so we were waiting for them and then we started walking. While we were crossing, the warning sound began! At that time my walking speed was even slower than now, off course, I could not run. I walked as quickly as I could, finishing as the barrier came down.
R is not with me, so I feel helpless. The level crossing is easy for normal fit people, I am a little bit gloomily.
7) 西口の稲荷神社 / Inari Shrine in West Side
踏切先の道の脇にお稲荷さんがあり、そのすぐ横はお店です。
この道を通るたびにこのお稲荷さんに目がとまり、何故かちょっぴりこわいです。

There is Inari Shrine on the road just beyond the level crossing.
This Inari Shrine is unusually close to the shop.
Every time I pass my eyes are caught by the shrine and I do not know why I always feel a little bit scared.
8) 御成小学校 / Onari Primary School
A. とてもりっぱな門 / Gorgeous Gate
普通の小学校なのに、こんなにりっぱな門なので、びっくりしますよね。もとは鎌倉御用邸でした。1933年に小学校になりました。
校名の看板は高浜虚子の書です。虚子は亡くなるまでの50年間、鎌倉に住みました。
ここに通ってるだけで、こどもが頭が良くなるような気がします。笑
Gorgeous Gate
There is a normal primary school, although the gate is gorgeous like this, so we are surprised, aren't we? It was a Kamakura Imperial villa. The school was opened in 1933.
The handwriting in the sigh of the school was by Kyoshi Takahama who was a popular Japanese poet and lived in Kamakura for 50 years until he died.
I feel children just go to the school, the children become more clever. Laugh

9) 鎌倉図書館 / Kamakura Library
鎌倉図書館は、今年開館100周年にあたり、右のようなポスターをつくっています。私はこの図書館を常時利用し、感謝もしています。
どの図書館員も親切です。
日本に帰って来て良いことはたくさんありましたが、この図書館もそのひとです。
ネットで本もDVDもCDも予約できるのが一番私にとってはありがたいことです。予約の順番も返却日もわかりますし、予約本が取り置きできたことの連絡もメールアドレス (電話も可能) にしてくれます。

After I came back to Japan, I have many good things, this library is one of them.

11) 二階堂 / Nikaido
同じバスに乗っていたRiちゃんは、ずっと先を歩いています。まだまだ私の歩く速度はおそいと感じます。

12) 燕 / Swallows
家の前の電線に燕がとまっていました。電線とよくカモフラージュしていて、感心します。
燕を見ていなかったので、遠くからやってきた燕かな？と思いました。
彼らが疲れきっているようだったので、ますます渡りを終えたのかという思いを強くしました。
Swallows
There were some swallows on the cables in front of my house. I was impressed that they camouflaged very well with the cables.
I hadn't seen swallows, so I thought they had just arrived here after their long flight. They looked exhausted, so I thought they had finished their migration.
