エドゥアルド・パオロッツィ (1924 - 2005) 作
地下鉄のための換気冷却塔をカモフラージュしています。
エドゥアルド・パオロッツィはスコットランド生まれの、
シュールリアリストの彫刻家です。
後ろのビルと似ているのは偶然なのでしょうか、意図的なのでしょうか？

テイト・ブリテン入り口に向かいます。

Every visit to Tate Britain, I greet Sir John Everett Millais (1829 - 1896)
and walk towards the Tate.
Sir John Everett Millais painted "Ophelia"(1852) which is held by the Tate.

A. 英国の絵画 / British Paintings
テート・ブリテンを訪れたのは、明確な目的があったわけではありません。
英国到着後、在宅が続いていたので、アート系関連の何かを見ようと思ったからでした。
テート・ブリテンは、その位置のためか、観光客または来場者の人数が穏やかなので、今回の英国での初めの一歩？に選びました。
通常、私は現代アートから見るのですが、この日は、'1540年〜1840年の部屋'を見ました。
思いが込められた、ねっちり描かれた絵が苦手で(全部が嫌いではありません）、見るときはちょっとお勉強意識を持ちます。
けれでも、'1540年 (~1640) の部屋' に入った瞬間に、
「あれっ？結構、おもしろいではないの！それに新鮮」
と純粋に絵に惹かれる自分にびっくりしつつ、楽しみながら他の部屋も見ました。
British Paintings
I did not have a particular purpose for visiting Tate Britain.
I have worked at home since I arrived in Britain, so I would like to see some kind of art work.
Usually Tate Britain's number of tourists or visitors is not large, I chose the Tate as a first step in Britain this time.
Normally I start looking at a contemporary art section, although that day, I looked at 'Rooms 1540 ~ 1840'.
I am weak about pictures that were painted with so much care ( it is not all), when I looked at these, I am conscious of study.
However, at the moment I entered 'Room 1540 (~1640)' ,
"Wow! They are interesting and fresh for me!"
I was surprised that I was charmed purely by the pictures and while I looked at them I was enjoying here and the later rooms.
B. ミステリアス好きな英国人?
British like Mysterious?
'1540年 (~1640)の部屋' には、不思議な雰囲気を持つ、双子の姉妹の絵 (下の画像) があり、印象的で忘れがたく、私でさえも記憶に残っていました。
少しづつ違う、詳細部分に興味が沸きますし、顔の描写から性格も違うように感じられます。
英国または英国人は伝統的に、ミステリアスなものが好きなのかもしれません。

亡くなった日は違うようです。
実際、二人は誰なのか、資料に基づいていくつか推測されていますが、
推測の域をでないようです。
画家の素性は知られていません。

British likes Mysterious?
In Room 1540 (~1640), there is a mysterious picture of Twins (above), it is impressive and unforgettable, so even I had remembered.
I became very interested in the different details, little by little and I feel their personalities are different from their face's appearances.
Britain or British might traditionally like mysteriousness .
C. 300年の後に / After 300 years
テート・ブリテンの英国絵画は、500年分がまとめられ、展示されているのですが、300年を見た後で軟弱な私とRは、カフェに行くことにしました。
その前に、ケルス・ウィン・エヴァンス / Cerith Wyn Evans (1958 -) の作品を見ました。
意識的に見ようと思わずとも、中央廊下に出ると、目に入らないわけにはゆきません(下の写真)。
In Tate Britain, 500 years of British paintings are collected and exhibited, although we are weak after 300 years and decided on going to a Cafe.
Before the cafe, we looked at works of Cerith Wyn Evans (1958 -).
Without our opinions, we cannot avoid looking at them, because they display in a central corridor, below.

カフェが改装されて、開放的になっていました。
The cafe was refurbished and became more open.

| テート・オリジナル・ビールを飲んで、家路につきました。 I had a Tate Original Beer and went on our way home. |
