1) 日帰旅行 / One - day Trip 
A. アムステルダムへ / To Amsterdam
2019年8月5日にオランダ入りし、ユトレヒト / Utrecht 市に滞在していました。

この日(7日)は、アムステルダムへ向かいました。
5-6日については下記。

ユトリヒト - アムステルダム間は、電車で約30分です。

英国を立つ前に、アムステルダムの "ゴッホ美術館"の見学時間の予約をしていたからです。

"ゴッホ美術館"は完全予約制で、予約なしで行った場合は、入り口前のチケット販売機で当日チケットの予約し、どれだけ待つかわかりませんが、入館できるかもしれません。

私達はのんびりしている方ですが、それでも "ゴッホ美術館"前で、ひたすら入館時間を待つのは苦に感じます。

実際予約して良かったと思います。

私達はよく迷うので、時間に余裕を持って出かけ、ユトレヒト中央駅にも早めに到着しました。
ユトレヒト中央駅
ユトレヒト中央駅は、オランダで最大で、
アムステルダム中央駅よりも大きいのです。

Utrecht Centraal Railway Station
Utrecht Centraal Railway Station is the largest in the Netherlands
and is bigger than Amsterdam Centraal Station.


 To Amsterdam
On 5th of August, 2019, we entered the Netherlands and had stayed in Utrecht city.

We went to Amsterdam on this day (7th ), because we had booked our visit time for the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam before we left Britain.
About 5th and 6th, below.

Utrecht-Amsterdam is approximately 30 minutes by train.

The "Van Gogh Museum" requires a full reservation system, if you go without a reservation, you can reserve a ticket at the ticket vending machine in front of the entrance on the day and know how long to wait, but you might not enter that day.

We are quite easy going, but we still find it hard to wait in front of the Van Gogh Museum.

I think it was good to actually make a reservation.

We often get lost, so we left with plenty of time and arrived at Utrecht Centraal Railway Station early.





B. 車窓の景色 / Views from Train Window
ユトレヒト中央駅からアムステルダム中央駅までの車窓から、運河、干拓地を見ることができました。

「世界は神が創ったが、オランダはオランダ人が創った」
と言うフレーズが納得できます。

From the train window on our way from Utrecht Central Station to Amsterdam Central Station, I could see the canal and the Polder.

"God created the world, but the Dutch created the Netherlands".

I can understand the phrase.
運河に複数のボートがあります。
リフレクションが入ってしまっています...すみません。

There are several boats on the canal.

オランダだな〜と思います。
I feel this is the Netherlands.




2) アムステルダム / Amsterdam
A. アムステルダム中央駅 / Amsterdam Centraal Station
アムステルダム中央駅
アムステルダム市営交通会社（GVB）の中央駅（Centraal Station）を含みます。
1889年に開業しました。
東京駅とアムステルダム中央駅は姉妹駅です。
'姉妹駅'という言葉を初めて知りました。

but includes the Central Railway Station of
It opened in 1889.
Tokyo Raiway Station and Amsterdam Centraal Station are sister stations.
It was the first time I heard the phrase, 'Sister Station'.
駅舎は、P.J.H.カイペルス /  Pierre Cuypers (1827 -1921) と
A.L.ファン・ゲント /  A.L. van Gendt (1835 -1901)によって設計されました。
カイペルス は、アムステルダム国立美術館も設計しています。

The Station building was designed by Pierre Cuypers (1827-1921)
and A.L. van Gendt (1835 -1901).
 Cuypers also designed Rijksmuseum / Dutch National Museum.

アムステルダムは北ホラント州 (地図 : クリーム色部分) の基礎自治体にあり、オランダの首都 (地図 : ★印)です。

 アムステルダム中央駅に到着したものの、案内所を探すのに、オロオロ、トイレを探してオロオロ。

案内所で目的地 (実はゴッホ美術館ではなくカフェ!) までの行き方を聞いたものの、たくさんあるトラム (路面電車) の乗り場を探してオロオロ...たくさんのオロオロ時間を経て、ようやくトラムの駅をおりました。

到着してみると、今回の目的ではなかった、"アンネ・フランクの家" と "アムステルダム西教会 / Westerkerk" の最寄駅と同じでした。

それを知っていたらもっと楽に聞けて、楽に来られたように思いますが、後の祭り....。

 Rは全くリサーチをしないし、私のリサーチがいつも何か抜けていて、頻繁に迷って失敗をします。

Amsterdam Centraal Station
We arrived in Amsterdam!

Amsterdam is the  capital city  (above,  ★ mark) of Netherlands, and is in a municipality of North Holland Province (above, Cream Part).

 Despite arriving at Amsterdam Centraal Station, we were looking for an information office in a dither and for a toilet in a dither again.

 At the information office, we heard how to get to the destination (actually not the Van Gogh Museum, but a cafe!), however, there are many tram stops, so we looked for our stop in a dither... finally we arrived at the Tram station after we had a lot of lost time.

 Upon arrival, it was the same as the nearest station to "Anne Frank House" and "Westerkerk / Western Church", which was not our purpose.

 If we knew it, we could listen to it more easily and think that we could come easily, it was too late.

 R doesn't do any research, and my research is always missing something, so we often get lost and fail.

B. 観光地 / Tourist Spot
この運河の右に、”アンネ・フランクの家”と”アムステルダム西教会"があり、
左に目指すカフェがあります。

To the right of this canal are "Anne Frank House" 
and "Westerkerk / Western Church",
and to the left is a café we aimed for.

There are many people. Will they visit 'Anne Frank House' and visit this church?

今は 'アンネ・フランクの家' も予約制と聞きました。
昔、私が行った時は行列はありませんでした。
年間約100万人が訪れ、日本からは3万人、イスラエルからの年間訪問者より約5千人多いそうです(2014年現在)。

 I heard that nowadays 'Anne Frank House' requires reservations.
Long ago, when I went, there was no queue.
About 1 million visitors a year, 30,000 from Japan, 
which was 5,000 more than the annual visitors from Israel (as of 2014).

カナール・ハウス?
英国にもハウス・ボート / Houseboats'があります。
同じでしょうか？
でもここは運河ですね。運河の幅が英国よりずっと広いように感じます。
カナール・ハウス(運河の家)と呼ぶのでしょうか？

But this is a canal. It feels like the canal is much wider than canals in Britain.

3) アップル・パイを食べに / To Eat Apple Pie 
「アムステルダムに到着し、もしも時間の余裕があれば、私達はどこへ行く？」

アムステルダムにはたくさんの観光地があり、私のリサーチでも結構な数の候補がありました。

ですがRが選んだのは、アップルパイで有名なカフェ、"Winkel 43" でした。

いつものように、迷いながら、ようやく、"Winkel 43"に到着しました。

Amsterdam has many sights and there are quite a few candidates in my research.

But R chose” Winkel 43”, a café famous for apple pie.

As always, lost, we finally arrived at "Winkel 43".
お待ちかねのアップルパイ
期待を裏切らない外見！
ですが、私一人では無理、二人でシェアーして食べました。
パイというよりもケーキというのが私の印象でした。
美味しくいただきました。

Long-awaited Apple Pie
Appearance that does not disappoint!
However, I couldn't do it alone, I shared and we ate it together.
My impression was of cake rather than pie.
It was delicious.

美味しかったけれども、アムステルダム国立美術館に行った方がよかったのでは？
と思う気持ちが消えません。

Delicious, but I feel it might have been better to go to Rijksmuseum?
I could not delete this feeling.



Rは朝食セットも食べました。
上の写真のオレンジジュースはセットの1つです。
イマイチな見てくれですが、Rは喜んで食べてました。

R also had their breakfast set.
The orange juice in the photograph above is one of a set.
It did not look so good, but R was glad to eat.

ゴッホ美術館へ向かいました。

We went on to the Van Gogh Museum.

1) ザーデル通り / Zadelstraat Street
2019年8月6日、私と夫Rは、ユトレヒト市の "鉄道博物館 / Railway Museum  /
Het Spoorwegmuseum" と "ミッフィー博物館 / Miffy Museum" へ行きました。
それらについては下記。

ミッフィー博物館後、旧運河 (アウデ運河) / Oudegracht 沿いを歩き、中心地、そしてユトレヒト中央駅へ向かいました。

私達は、ユトレヒトに滞在していました。

翌日、アムステルダムへ出る予定でしたので、徒歩でどの程度かかるものなのかを知るためにユトレヒト中央駅へ向かいました。
中心地までの散策は前回のセクション、下記。

また、電車の乗り方はネット検索はしていましたが、駅員さん、またはインフォメーションセンターの方に確認しようと思ったからです。
"De Koperen Bel" / "銅の鈴"
モザイクを用いた大きな壺が目に止まりました。
陶器のお店かと思いましたが、家具屋さんでした。

I thought it was a pottery shop, but it is a furniture store.

On 6th of August, 2019, I and my husband,R visited "Railway Museum  / Het Spoorwegmuseum"  and "Miffy Museum" in Utrecht.

After the Miffy Museum, we walked along the Old Canal (Oude Canal) / Oudegracht towards the centre and Utrecht Centraal Railway Station.

We were staying in Utrecht.

The next day, we were going to Amsterdam, so we headed to Utrecht Central Station to find out how long it would take on foot.
The walk to the centre is in the previous section, below.

Also, although I was searching the net for how to get on the train, I decided to check with the station staff or the information centre.

ここも家具屋さんでした。
モロッコ、インド、エジプト、トルコの家具を専門にしています。

This is also a furniture shop.
They specialize in home furnishings from Morocco, India, Egypt and Turkey.

I understand it is a souvenir shop specializing in Miffy!
But they seem to sell other souvenirs.
Because, the mark of the shop is Dom Tower.

レリーフに興味があって撮影しましたが、
ここがどこなのか、この建物が何なのかは
わかりません。
追記 : 投資会社(SHV Holdings N.V.)の建物だとわかりました。
この建物は国家遺産 に指定されています。

I was interested in the relief and photographed, 
but I don't know where this is or what this building is.
Postscript : I found out that it was a building of 
an investment company (SHV Holdings N.V.).

エ〜ッ！あれはUFOですか？
Oh! Is that a UFO?

"De Inktpot" / "インク壺"
"インク壺 / De Inktpot"と呼ばれる建物は、
のためにジョージ・バン・ヒューケロム / George van Heukelom (1870 - 1952) が
設計したオランダ最大のレンガ造りの建物です。
2,200万個のレンガで構築されています。
この建物は、オランダ国家遺産に指定されいます。
オランダ国家遺産はユトレヒト中央駅近くのユトレヒトのモレルセパークにあり、
現在プロレール/ ProRail (オランダ鉄道)の本社として使用されています。

"De Inktpot" / "Inkwell" 
The "Inkwell  / De Inktpot" is the name of a building that 
is the largest brick building in the Netherlands, 
designed by George van Heukelom (1870 - 1952) on 
behalf of the interest group Nederlandsche Spoorwegen(NS).
Built with 22 million bricks, 
the building is a National Heritage Site.
The National Heritage / rijksmonument is located at the Moreelsepark
in Utrecht near Utrecht Central Station and
it is currently used as ProRail's head office.





B. ユトレヒト中央駅 / Utrecht Centraal Railway Station
ユトレヒト中央駅

ユトレヒト中央駅は、オランダで最大かつ最も利用者数の多い鉄道駅です。
アムステルダム中央駅よりも規模が大きいとは知りませんでした。
ユトレヒトの位置がほぼオランダ国土の真ん中なので、
最大規模であるというのは至極当然のことなのでしょう。
東側の駐輪場は世界最大です...流石に自転車の国！
もちろん、電車にも持ち込めます

and busiest railway station in the Netherlands.
I didn't know it was bigger than Amsterdam Centraal Station.
Since Utrecht is almost in the middle of the Netherlands,
it is quite natural that it is the largest.
  The east side bicycle parking lot is
the largest in the world....As expected, a bicycle country!
Of course, you can bring them to the train.

宇宙
ショッピングモールを出るとこんな景色が！
宇宙的〜！
運河沿いは古い建物でしたが、ユトレヒト中央駅は新しく大きく、
高い建物に囲まれています。
1843年に開業しました。
その後、改装、火災、再建されました。
1970年から2016年まで駅、駅周辺の再構築は続きました。
ちょっと東京の渋谷駅と似ています。
(この例え、わかりますか？渋谷駅は2027年まで工事が続くようです。）

Space
When we left the shopping mall, I saw this scene!
Space ~!
Old buildings along the canal, but Utrecht Railway Central Station
is surrounded by new, large and tall buildings.
The Station opened in 1843.
It had been renovated, burnt down and rebuilt.
From 1970 to 2016, the reconstruction of the Station 
and their surroundings continued.
It is a bit like the Shibuya Railway Station in Tokyo.
(Do you understand this case? 
Shibuya Station seems to be under construction until 2027.)

ベンサム・クロウエル・アルトテクト(会社) が設計しました。

"ゲートハウス / Poortgebouw"
"ゲートハウス / Poortgebouw" は、多機能タワービルです。
複合施設 であるフーグ・カタリーネ / Hoog Catharijneの一部です。
フーグ・カタリーネはヨーロッパ最大のショッピング・モールでもあります。

"Gatehouse / Poortgebouw" 
"Gatehouse / Poortgebouw" is a multifunctional tower.
It is part of the Hoog Catharijne complex,
which is also Europe's largest shopping mall.
駅には実際の入り口がなく、ショッピングモールの通路が駅に続いています。

 The station has no a real entrance and  
the passageways of the shopping mall just continued into the station.




C. 運河のクジラ / Canal Whale
ショッピングモールを出ると運河の上でした。
そして、運河に何かいます！

When we left the shopping mall, we were beside a canal.
And there is something in the canal!

クジラ？ 
海からここまでやってきたという設定でしょうか？
(人に言いたいことがあって)

 Whale?
Is the story that the whale came from the sea to here?
(Because, the whale wants to tell people)




スタツバイテングラハト運河
建物と呼応しているように設置されています。
このクジラを撮影した時に、私はこのクジラについて
予備知識がありませんでした。
けれども、その構成物 (下の写真) を知ったとき
これは海の環境保護、クジラ保護を訴える誰かが、もしくは
団体が製作したのだと推測できました。
まあ、表現が露骨なので現代アートとは違うのだろう(苦笑)と
思ったわけですが。

Stadsbuitengracht
( Stadsbuitengracht Canal)
It is installed so as to correspond to the building.
When I photographed this whale, I had no prior knowledge of the whale.
However, when I found about its composition (below), 
I could guess that it was created by someone or an organization 
that protects the sea environment or whales.
Well, I thought it would be different from contemporary art
because the expression is explicit (Wry Smile).

漢字を見つけると悲しい気持ちになります。
確かにね、海にゴミを出さないようにという努力は必要でしょう。
でも漁師さんのゴミは許してあげてと思ってしまいます。
(それにツナミに襲われた漁港のものかもしれないし)

 Finding 'kanji' makes me feel sad.
Certainly, efforts should be made to keep trash out of the sea.
But I wonder if fisherman's rubbish could be forgiven.
(And they may be from fishing ports attacked by Tsunami.)

"欧州運河にプラごみクジラ「海を守れ」と米芸術家

運河でクジラがジャンプ－。
主に米ハワイの海岸に打ち上げられたプラスチックごみなどを用いて米芸術家が制作した高さ11メートルのクジラが、オランダ中部ユトレヒトの運河で展示されている。
プラスチック消費を減らし、海を守るよう訴えている。
作品に使われたプラスチックは米国や中国、ロシア、韓国、中南米など世界中から漂着。
北海道や東北の漁業関係組織とみられる名前が書かれた箱もあった。
制作者の一人、ジェイソン・クリモスキさんは、さまざまな国のプラスチックは
「各国がいかに海を分け合っているかを示す」
と指摘し、プラごみを減らす努力も各国で
「協力して行うべきだ」
と主張した。
クジラはプラスチック５トン超を骨組みに貼り付けて制作した。"

“『Plastic waste whale on European canal 』 'Protect the Ocean' by U.S. Artists

The whale jumps from a canal.
An 11m tall whale, produced by an American artist using plastic waste mainly 
stranded on the coast of Hawaii, is on display in a canal in the centre of Utrecht, Netherlands.
It appeals for reducing plastic consumption and protecting the sea.
The plastic used in the work drifts from around the world, including the United States, China, Russia, South Korea, and Latin America.
There were also boxes with names that seemed to be fishery organizations in Hokkaido and Tohoku.
One of the makers, Jason Klimoski, pointed out that
' plastics in various countries  indicate how each country shares the sea', 
and he argued 
'efforts to reduce plastic waste should be made cooperatively in each country'
The whale was made by attaching more than 5 tons of plastic to the structure. "





D. フレーデンブルク通り / Vredenburg Street
TivoliVredenburg : ★
クジラを見下ろすビル。
カラフルな部分が好きです。
現代音楽コンサートホールがメインの複合施設です。
  この建物は、ハーマンヘルツバーガーとパトリックフランセンの建築事務所
[Herman Hertzberger (1932 ~) and Patrick Fransen (? ~) ]
によって設計され、5つのホールはそれぞれ違う建築家によって設計されました。
ホールは5つもあって、音響上、特定の音楽ジャンル向けに設計されています。

A building overlooking the whale.
I like its colored highlights.
The  contemporary music concert halls are the main parts of the complex.
  The building was designed by the architectural firm 
of Herman Hertzberger (1932 ~) and Patrick Fransen (? ~) ; 
the 5 halls are each designed by a different architect,
 acoustically designed for specific music genres.
カフェもあります。/ There is also a cafe.
ポスター
ビルの脇には複数のポスターがありました。
その中でこれが好きです。
でも意味はわかりません。

Poster
There were several posters beside the building.
I like this among them.
But I don't understand the meaning.



TivoliVredenburg
スピーカーを連想させる外装です。
音響にこだわったことがわかります。

Exterior reminiscent of a speaker.
I can see that they were particular about sound.

自転車利用者
自転車利用者がたくさんいます。
アントワープでもたくさんサイクリストを見ました。
彼らは歩行者にかなり攻撃的だったけれど、
ユトレヒトのサイクリストは歩行者に優しい感じがしました。
これは私の一個人の感想ですが...。
もしかしたらユトリヒトの自転車専用車線の幅が
アントワープよりも広いのかもしれません。

Bicycle Users
There are many bicycle users.
I saw a lot of cyclists in Antwerp,
although they were quite aggressive to pedestrians,
I felt cyclists in Utrecht were kinder to pedestrians.
Just this is my personal impression ...
Maybe Utrecht's bicycle lanes are wider than Antwerp.

3) 旧運河へ戻る / Back to Oudegracht (Old Canal)
フレーデンブルク通り / Vredenburg Street に沿って東へ向かえば、私達の滞在場所に自ずと着きます。

ですが、まだ明るいので、 中心地、旧運河へ戻りました。

最初は、夕飯を外で取ろうと思いましたが、結局、スーパーマーケットで食材を買い、宿泊場所で夕飯をとりました。


Back to  Oudegracht (Old Canal)
Head East along Vredenburg Street and we would arrive back in our accommodation.

But it was still bright, so we returned to the centre, the old canal.

At first, I thought I would have dinner outside, but I ended up buying food at a supermarket and having dinner in our accommodation.
ドリーハリング通り/ Drieharingstraat
路地と言えるような通りにたくさんの人が集まっていました。
地元の方々のようです。
観光客は運河沿いのカフェやレストランへ行き、
地元の人は隠れた場所にやってくるのかもしれません。

Drineharing Street / Drieharingstraat
Many people gathered in the street that can be called alley.
They looked like locals.
Tourists go to cafes and restaurants along the canal,
and locals may come to hidden places.




旧運河通り /  Oudegracht Street 
"アウダーン/ Oudaen"
アウダーン / Oudaenは、要塞化された中世の家(市城）です。
現在はレストランとして使用されています。
この建物も"インク壺 / De Inktpot"と同様にオランダ国家遺産です。
ユトレヒト滞在中に私はここで夕飯が食べたかったのですが...。

"Oudaen"
Oudaen is a fortified medieval house.
(also called a city castle) 
It is currently used as a restaurant.
This building is also a National Heritage Site like "Inkwell / De Inktpot".
I would have liked to have dinner here during our stay in Utrecht ...

前日の晩に行きたかったパンケーキのお店 : "De Muntkelder" を対岸より撮影。
