11月19日、いくつかの展覧会を見に、夫Rと東京へ出かけました。

最初は、東京新宿伊勢丹で開催・"坪内好子展覧会"へ行きました。

私は、坪内好子さんの作品が大好きで、行ける限り、彼女の個展には足を運んでいます。

いつか、作品を購入したいと思っているのですが、彼女の作品が私には高額で、今のところ実現できていません。

ああ、でも、いつか、欲しいな〜...

DM / Invitation Card

私も夫Rも彼女とは面識があるので、
二人の名前でDMを送ってくださっています。

Both I and my husband R have acquaintance with her, 
so she sent us a DM under our names.

彼女は私達がお気に入りの
北鎌倉のレストラン・"ラ・ペクニコヴァ" 
を経営している馬場シェフの奥様でもあります。

She is also the wife of Chef Baba, 

who runs our favourite restaurant,  

"La Peknikova" in Kita-Kamakura, Japan.

On 19th of November, I went to Tokyo to see some exhibitions with my husband R.

  

At first, we went to the "Yoshiko Tsubouchi Exhibition" held in Isetan, Shinjuku, Tokyo.

I love Yoshiko Tsubouchi's work, and as long as I can go, I go to her exhibitions.

I'd like to buy her work someday, but her works are too expensive for me and I haven't done it so far.

(Excluding Calendar Exhibition)

騙し絵 (トロンプ・ルイユ)のような、
リフレクションのような
彼女のこういう世界、発想が好きです。

Like a Trompe-l'œil, Like a Reflection
I like her these world and ideas.

この作品とほぼ同様の作品がカレンダーとして我が家にあります。
昨年、募金目的のカレンダー展が北鎌倉でありました。
そこに彼女の作品も出品されていました。
カレンダー展初日、Rが列の1番目を確保し手に入れました。

There is a work in our house that is almost the same 

as this work as a calendar.

Last year, a Calendar Exhibition for fundraising was held 

in Kita-Kamakura.

Her work was also exhibited there.

On the first day of the Calendar Exhibition, 

R secured the first in the line and bought it.

ここ何年か、ガラス絵を制作されています。
今回、とてもガラス絵に惹かれました。
版画も欲しいと思っていましたが、
ガラス絵も欲しくなってしまった...
困ったことになったぞ！

She has been making glass paintings for the last few years.

This time, I was very attracted to glass painting.

I wanted her print, but I also wanted her glass painting ...

I'm in trouble!

素晴らしい展覧会でした。

また、好子さんにお会いできたことも嬉しかったです。

作品も魅力的ですが、好子さんのお人柄も良いので、多くの人に愛される作品とアーティストさんなのだと思います。

It was a wonderful exhibition.

I was also happy to meet Yoshiko.

The work is attractive, and Yoshiko's personality is also good, so 

I think that the artist and her work are loved by many people.

1) 円月島 / Engetsu Island

⑯⑰⑱は、"円月島 (高嶋)・千畳敷・三段壁" の名称で国の名勝に指定されています。

Itinerary on 14th of November in Japanese
This section is ⑰ :  Engetsu Island.
⑯⑰⑱ are designated as National Scenic Spots under the names of 

"Engetsu Island (Takashima), Senjōjiki Rock Plateau and Sandanbeki Rock Cliff".

 Engetsu means circular moon-shaped.

バスの車窓から / From Coach Window

白浜を歩く機会はなかったので、撮影だけしました。

I didn't have a chance to walk in Shirahama ; White Beach,
 so I just took photographs.

円月島が見えてきました。
Engetsu Island becomes visible.

日暮どきが綺麗だというので、しばらく現地で待ちました。

It's said that the twilight is beautiful, so we waited there for a while.

高嶋 : 円月島
正式名称は"高嶋"といい、臨海浦 (リンカイウラ) の南海上に浮かぶ
南北130m、東西35m、高さ25mの小島です。

島の中央に円月形の穴 (海蝕洞)が開いていることから

"円月島"という通称の由来になりました。

Takashima : Engetsu Island

The official name is "Takashima", which is a small island that

 floats on the coast of Shirahama, Wakayama Prefecture, 

35m (115 ft) east-to-west, 130m (430 ft) north-to-south, 

and 25m (82 ft) high 

The name "Engetsu Island" is derived from the fact that

 there is a circular moon-shaped hole (sea cave)

 in the centre of the island.

2) 平草原展望台 / Heisougen Observatory

初日に、予定していた観光場所が大雨の影響で通行止めになり、行くことができませんでした。

私もおそらくツアー参加者の誰もが気にしていなかったと思うのですが、添乗員さんが気にしていました。

添乗員さんが、景色の良い場所をバスの運転手さんに聞いて、

平草原展望台 (ヘイソウゲンテンボウダイ) へ連れて行ってくれました。

平草原展望台 は、紀州博物館のそばです。
Heisougen Observatory is near the Kishū  Museum.

Heisougen Observatory

On the first day, we couldn't go to the planned sightseeing spot because it was closed due to heavy rain.

I, and probably the other tour participants, didn't care about the spot, but the tour conductor did.

The tour conductor asked our coach driver to suggest a different scenic spot and he took us to Heisougen Observatory.

銅像と彫刻作品がありました。
後になって宮城道雄 (ミヤギ ミチオ / 1894 - 1956)
の銅像だとわかりました。
彼は神戸生まれなのに、なぜここに銅像が
あるのかはわかりません。
宮城道雄は作曲家・箏曲家で十七絃の開発者としても
知られています。

There were statues and sculptures.

Later I found out that it was a statue of Michio Miyagi (1894 - 1956).

He was born in Kobe.

I don't know why his statue is here.

He was a Japanese musician and composer,

famous for his Koto (instrument) playing and

 also known as the developer of the 17-string koto.

展望台より / From Observatory

白浜温泉郷を一望できます。
I can overlook Shirahama Onsen.

円月島が見えます。
日が暮れているのに、結構明るいのに驚きます。

I can see Engetsu Island.
Even though the sun is setting,
I am surprised that it is still quite bright.

白浜~!

3) 空港 / Airports

南紀白浜空港
南紀白浜空港はたくさんの観光地の近くにあります。
空港は不便な場所にある..という私の認識とは違います(笑)。

Nanki Shirahama Airport
Nanki Shirahama Airport is close to many tourist destinations.
It's different from my perception that
airports are in inconvenient locations .. (Laugh).

熊野古道ビールを再び購入。
待ち時間に飲みました。

We bought Kumano Kodo beer again.
We drank while waiting.

空港の売店に売っていて嬉しかった！

The airport shop sells them, 
so I was happy. 

実は、なぎさビールも売っていましたが
ビンであったので購入はしませんでした。
(栓抜きが必要になるから）

Actually, the shop also sold Nagisa beer, 

but we didn't buy them because they are bottles.

(Because we need a bottle opener for them.)

壁にオブジェ/ Object on the Wall

そのうち民有林の面積は346千ha

Kishū・ Ki no Kuni : Wood Country 

"Forests occupy 77% of the land in Wakayama Prefecture.

The area of private forest is 346,000 ha 

(95% of the forest area)."

Wakayama used to be most of what was called 

Kii Province (紀伊国, Kii no Kuni), or Kishū (紀州).

しまじろうジェット便に乗ったのでラッキーなはずですが、
機体も見られず撮影もできず、カバーのこれだけがその印...
その上、通路を歩きながら慌てて撮影したので
写真はこんな感じ....

Shimajiro's Headrest Cover

I should think I am lucky because I got on the Shimajiro Jet Flight, 

however, I could not see the aircraft to photograph. 

Only this Headrest Cover shows we were on the special Jet ...

Besides, I took this photograph in a hurry 

while walking down the aisle, so the photograph looks like this ...

羽田空港に戻ってきました。
We were back at Haneda Airport.

羽田空港オリジナル飲料
自動販売機で
"羽田空港オリジナル飲料"
を見つけました。
自動販売機にくっついて撮影していたら
警備員が見回りに来て怪しまれてしまいました。

Haneda Airport Original Beverage

I found "Haneda Airport Original Beverage" 

in a vending machine.

While I was 'stuck to the machine', trying to photograph, 

two security guards were suspicious and came around.

結局買いました。買わずにはいられませんでした。
味？ 普通です。

I bought it after all. I felt I had to buy it.
Taste? it is normal.

4) 感想 / Review

良い旅行だったと思います。

ツアーでは心残りの場所は多くありましたが、ツアーの計画は、とてもよくできていると思いました。

また、二人で、元気で出かけられるといいな〜と思います。

添乗員さん、ツアーの方、

旅行先でお世話になった方、

R、

和歌山の自然、

他、色々ありがとうございました。

熊野本宮大社の158段の石段
熊野の歴史は2,000年以上そして私の無知も重なって、
リサーチに時間がかかりました。
また興味があることが多く、あちらこちらへと
私の心は飛び交いました。
トピックごとに切ることができず、
各セクションが長くなってしまいました。
ようやく、'熊野・南紀旅行' のセクションが終わって、
ちょっとホッとしています (苦笑)。

158 Steps of Kumano Hongū Taisha Shrine

Kumano's history is more than 2,000 years, 

and my ignorance also overlapped, 

so it took time to research.

I was also interested in many things, 

and my heart flew here and there.

I couldn't cut any topic, so each section became long.

Finally, the 'Kumano・Nanki Trip' section is over, 

and I'm a little relieved (Wry Smile).

Review

I think it was a good trip.

There were many places to regret leaving so quickly on the tour, but I thought the tour was very well planned.

Also, I hope we are both fine and can go out together again.

Thank you to our tour conductor, the participants, 

the people who took care of us at the destinations, 

R, 

the nature of Wakayama, 

and much more.

This section is ⑰ : Senjōjiki Rock Plateau.
"Senjōjiki" means huge area of 1,000 tatami mats.

①円月島  / ④三段壁 

 現在地：千畳敷 

三段壁 (サンダンベキ)の次は千畳敷を見学しました。

２つは近く、車(バス)で5分ほどの距離です。

両方とも自然が作った興味深い景色です。

次の場所は、円月島で、この3箇所は、

"円月島(高嶋)・千畳敷・三段壁" の名称で

国の名勝に指定されています。

① Engetsu Island / ④ Sandanbeki Rock Cliff

 You Are Here : Senjōjiki Rock Plateau 

After Sandanbeki Rock Cliff, we wet to Senjōjiki Rock Plateau.

The two are nearby, and it is about 5 minutes by car (bus).

Both are interesting scenery created by nature.

The next place is Engetsu Island, and these three places are designated

 as National Scenic Spots under the names of 

"Engetsu Island (Takashima), Senjōjiki Rock Plateau and Sandanbeki Rock Cliff".

海の色が綺麗！
The colour of the sea is beautiful!

吉野熊野国立公園です。

千畳敷は、波の浸食でできた平らな海底 (波食棚)が

隆起して海岸段丘となった地形です。

波食棚とは、海食の結果、海岸線の後退によってできた、

海食崖の下に沖の方へひろがっている平坦な面です。

Senjōjiki Rock Plateau Sign

Here is in Yoshino-Kumano National Park.

Senjōjiki Rock Plateau is a landform where 

the flat seabed (wave-cut platform) created 

by wave erosion rises and becomes a marine terrace.

A wave-cut platform is a flat surface that 

extends offshore under a sea cliff, created 

by the receding coastline as a result of sea erosion.

広さはおよそ40,000㎡で、
畳を千枚敷けるほどの広さであることが名前の由来です。

The area is about 4 hectares, and the name comes from
 the fact that it is large enough to lay 1,000 tatami mats.

近年、ここは落書きの被害に頭を悩ませてるそうです。
落書きがアートと呼ばれる時代になり、

Graffiti

I intended to take this photo of the landscape,

 but it happened to have graffiti on it.

In recent years, people seem to be suffering 

from graffiti damage here.

When graffiti is called art in this era,

is the number of self-proclaimed artists increasing ?

on the 18-15 million year old strata?
