アントワープのアパートメントから徒歩で、市庁舎、ブラボーくん、ステーン城と周り、
"カフェ・クイントン・マセイス" /
"Cafe Quinten Matsijs"で、ベルギービールとランチを楽しみました。
"カフェ・クイントン・マセイス"は、アントワープで一番古いカフェです。

公式サイトに日本語が用意されているのに、驚きます。
のちになって知ったのですが、このお店は、ベルギー人と日本人のご夫婦が経営しています。
奥様が日本人で、ブログをお持ちで日本語です: ★。
クイントン
マセイスの建物は、1565年に建てられたもので、もとはイン/
inn : 宿屋＆居酒屋でした。
ルクセンブルグ近郊のグーリック/ Gulickという郡から、たくさんの商人達が港町アントワープに商売に訪れ、この宿を利用していたことから、「‘ｔGulick
(トゥ
グリック)」と名づけられていました。

walked from our apartment in Antwerp to the city hall, Brabo statue,
Steen Castle and
enjoyed
lunch with Belgian beer at "Cafe Quinten Matsijs".
"Cafe
Quinten Matsijs" is the oldest cafe in Antwerp.

I
was surprised that their official website has Japanese language.
Later
I found out that this cafe is managed by a Belgian and Japanese couple.
The
wife is Japanese who has her blog in Japanese: ★. (as at March, 2018)
The
building dates from 1565.
Originally
it was an Inn / bar and named "t Gulick", after many merchants from
the County Gulick, nearby in Luxemburg,
coming to Antwerp to trade.

ate and drank at this bar counter place and
the current dining hall was a place to keep the horses.

He
pours the beers of our choice at the same time.

郷土料理をチョイスしたつもり...
でもこのお皿が！！！
Local Cuisine
I chose "Flemish beef stew" / "Vlaamse stoofkarbonaden" with Trappist beer".
I planned to chose a local cuisine ...
However, they served me this empty plate!!!

あっ！この '物体' も来ました。どうやらこれがビーフシチュー....
Ah! This 'object' also came. Apparently this is beef stew ....

ポテトかご飯
シチューには、フリッツ (チップス) か、ご飯がついていて選びます。
私はフリッツを選びました。
後に知ましたが、ご飯は日本のお米だそうです。
Potato or Rice
Choose stew with Fritz (chips) or rice.
I chose Fritz.
As I found later, it seems that rice is Japanese rice.

シチューをお皿に乗せて食べながら、このチップスをちびちび食べていたら、現地の紳士が私達のテーブルまで来て、ポテトとシチューはお皿に乗せて、ぐちゃぐちゃに混ぜて食べるのだと教えてくださいました。
私の食べ方を見て、見かねたのですね....。
チップスとシチューを混ぜるという発想を今まで持ったことがなかったので、ちょっとびっくりしました。
ご飯が選択肢の中にあったのだということもわかりました。
After I put the stew on the plate while picking at the fritz, a
local gentleman came over to our table and taught me that fritz and stews
would be put on a dish and
mixed together and eaten.
He
was unable to just watch me who ate this meal, wasn't he?
I
was surprised a little because I had never had the idea of mixing
chips and stew.
I knew that the rice was among the choices.
サラダが盛り付けられていたお皿の空白部分の意味がわかりました。
配膳してくれたウェイターの女性に聞いた時、
彼女は外国人で食べ方をよく知らないと言っていました。
親切な紳士が教えてくださって良かったわ〜〜！
I understood the meaning of the blank part of the dish where the salad was served.
When I asked the waitress, who said that she is a foreigner,
so she did not know how to eat the meal.
It was good that the kind gentleman taught me about it!

お店を出る時に、紳士にお礼を言いに行きました。
紳士のテーブルにいらしてくださった方々がみな、素敵な笑顔で迎えてくださって、感動！
アントワープのサイクリストの傍若無人ぶりに
(日本人の私にはそう感じられました)
少し憤慨していましたが、彼らの笑顔ですっかり上機嫌になりました。
(私が自転車が一緒の歩道に慣れていないのと、日本が公的には歩行者優先の社会であるので、アントワープのサイクリストの行いが傲慢に感じたのです...ああ、もちろん、すべてのサイクリストではありません）
お腹も一杯、気分も上々、聖母大聖堂に向かいました。
I
went to the gentlemen's table to say thank you when leaving the cafe.
Everyone on his table welcomed me with a wonderful smile, I was
impressed!
I had felt a little indignant about the arrogance of the cyclists in Antwerp
(felt by me, who is Japanese), however, I became really cheerful
with their smiles.
(I
was not used to walking on pavements together with cyclists and Japan is
officially a pedestrian priority society, so I felt the arrogance of the Antwerp cyclist 's actions, of course not all of cyclists.)

大聖堂見学のあとに、ギュンター・ワット・チョコレート・カフェ / Günther
Watté Chocolate Cafe に行きました。
アントワープ留学経験者の友人、はっこちゃんがイチオシしてくれたのが、このチョコレート屋さんでした。
はっこちゃん、ありがとう！

is located between the "Plantin-Moretus Museum" and the "Mode

閉まっている〜〜！
一度お店を訪ねましたが、お店は閉まっていました。ショック！
夏休みをとっているようでした。
お店のロゴからおしゃれな印象を受けました。
Clo~~sed!
We tried to visit the shop after visiting the Plantin-Moretus Museum
on 6th September,
although but the shop was closed. Shock!
They seemed to be taking a summer vacation.
I got a stylish impression from the shop's logo.

スタッフの印象は結構、淡々として、メタルのクールさと似ています。

私はハチミツ入りチョコレートのホットチョコレート
I had a hot chocolate using chocolate with honey
甘いものが苦手な私が、これは美味しい〜！と感じました。
ハチミツがとても良いバランスで効いていました。
I
am weak about sweet things, however, I felt this was delicious ~!

支払いの時に、アントワープに留学した友人がここを一番に薦めてくれたことを伝えると、クールな表情を保っていたスタッフさんが破顔して喜んでくれました。
At the time of payment, when I told that my friend who studied in Antwerp most recommended here, and then though the staff had kept a cool expression, he smiled and looked pleased.
購入
自分たち用に買ったホットチョコレート用のチョコレートも
お土産として使用してしまいました。
でも、お店で満喫したので、それで良し！
Buying
We bought chocolates for hot chocolate for us, though we used them for souvenirs.
However, I had enjoyed it at the cafe, so it was alright!
