1) リトグラフ工房前 

　 Before Lithograph Studio

A. 鎌倉駅周辺 / Around Kamakura Station 

大町 (鎌倉市) のリトグラフ工房へ行く時は、最寄りのバス停から鎌倉駅行きにのり、途中下車し、工房まで歩きます。

ですが、今日は、鎌倉駅までバスに乗り、雑事をすませました。

Around Kamakura Station 

When going to a lithograph studio in Ōmachi, Kamakura, Kanagawa Prefecture take the bus bound for Kamakura Station from my nearest bus stop, get off, and walk to the studio.

However, today, I took a bus to Kamakura Station and finished my errands.

After that, I took a bus from Kamakura Station to Ōmachi for the first time to go to the studio.

若宮大路の紫陽花

立派に咲いています。

色も綺麗!

若宮大路は、由比ヶ浜(滑川交差点)から鶴岡八幡宮への

参道であり、鎌倉で最も広い通りです。

この紫陽花は、かなり大きいのですが、

若宮大路の空間が広いので、その大きさが

目立たないように感じました。

Hydrangea on Wakamiya Ōji Street 

It is blooming splendidly.

Beautiful colours too

Wakamiya Ōji Street is the approach to 

Tsurugaoka Hachimangū Shrine from 

Yuigahama Beach (Namerigawa intersection) and

 is the widest street in Kamakura.

This hydrangea is quite large, 

but I felt that the size was not conspicuous 

because the space of Wakamiya Ōji Street was wide.

七夕の飾り
鳩サブレの豊嶋屋さんの七夕の飾りを見て、
七夕が近いことを思い出しました。
この七夕のかざりは、クリスマスツリーに似ていますね。

Tanabata Decoration
When I saw the decorations of Tanabata : Star Festival 
at Hato Sable's Toyoshimaya,
 I remembered that Tanabata was soon.
This Tanabata decoration looks like a Christmas tree.

B. 大町 / Ōmachi

工房へ向かうために、鎌倉駅から大町方面へのバスを利用しました。

帰りのバスは時々使用していましたが、行きのバスに乗ったのは初めてでした。

行きのバス停は帰りのバス停と同じ名前ですが、かなり離れています。

なので、工房へ向かうときにいつもとは違う道を通り、その道を歩くことも初めてでした。

初めての道なので、心惹かれるシーンもあったのですが、足の具合が悪く、撮影をする余裕がありませんでした。

しばらく歩いて、調子を取り戻し、撮影を始めました。

パン屋さん ;  "パン小屋・こまど"
パン屋さんがありそうもない、
住宅街の小道沿にこのパン屋さんはありました。
お店の名前がかわいらしく、
このお店にあっています。

Bakery ; "Bread Cabin, Tiny Window : Komado"

There is this bakery along a small street 

in a residential area where a bakery is unlikely.

The name of the shop is cute and it suits this shop.

そういえば、鎌倉で似たような立地条件でも
小さなパン屋さんがあったことを思い出しました。
記憶にあったパン屋さんは毎日オープンされてはいませんでした。
予想通り、このパン屋さんも週に2回だけの開店です。

Speaking of which, I remembered that there was 

a small bakery in Kamakura 

with similar location conditions.

The bakery I remember was not open every day.

Unsurprisingly, this bakery is only open twice a week.

Ōmachi

To go to the studio, I took a bus from Kamakura Station to Ōmachi.

I used to take the bus on the way home from time to time, but this was the first time I took the bus going.

The bus stop on the way is the same name as the bus stop on the way back, but it is quite far apart.

So, when heading to the studio, I took a different route than usual, and it was my first time walking that road.

It was my first time on the road, so there were scenes that I was drawn to, but my leg wasn't feeling well and I didn't have peace of mind to photograph.

After walking for a while, I regained my composure and started photographing.

ヨットを設計する会社兼ご自宅ではなかったかと
記憶しています。

My favourite house and plants.
I remember that it is a yacht design company and a home.

2) リトグラフ工房 / Lithograph Studio

無事、リトグラフ工房に到着しました。

見知らぬ道を歩き、足の調子も悪かったので、無事到着して、いつもよりも安堵感がありました。

工房の前の庭には、前回咲いていたチョコレートコスモスがより一層花を咲かせていました。

チョコレート・コスモス
初めてこの花を知ったのはある小説のタイトルでしたが、
実物を見たのは英国でした。
本当にチョコレートの香りがして驚きました。
この花からも微かにその香りがしていました。

Chocolate Cosmos
I found about this flower for the first time from a novel's title,
but it was in Britain that I saw the real thing.

I was really surprised that it smelled like chocolate.

These flowers also had a faint scent.

Lithograph Studio

I arrived safely at the lithograph studio.

After walking on an unfamiliar road and having a bad leg, I felt more relieved than usual when I arrived safely.

In the garden in front of the studio, the chocolate cosmos that had bloomed last time were blooming even more.

今年の4月の個展前に手がけた作品を終了すべく、
続けています。

I am continuing to finish the work I worked
 on before my exhibition in April this year.

試刷り / Test Prints

カラーインクのドローイングにリトグラフを
刷っています。
これは次回への個展に向けて、試作として
制作しています。

Lithographs are printed on colored ink drawings.

I am working on this as a prototype for my next exhibition.

    After Lithograph Studio

A. 苔丸 / Kokemaru

鎌倉山に帰ってきました。

通常よりも早い時間に戻ってきたので、苔丸さんの店先を日の光の中で撮影できました。

I returned to Kamakurayama.

I came back earlier than usual, so I was able to photograph Kokemaru's shop front in the sunlight.

とっても苔丸さん！素敵です。
Very Kokemaru! Lovely!

入り口 / Entrance

リトグラフ工房の庭のチョコレートコスモスを
思い起こしました。

This reminded me of the chocolate cosmos
in the garden of the lithograph studio.

"Finnish Miniature Forest"

白い花火？ / White Fireworks?

シラサギカヤツリ
シラサギカヤツリを初めて知りました。
花は、本当に白鷺が飛んでいるように見えます。
草も繊細です。
和名は、'白鷺の舞'というのもあり、
そうつけたくなった人の気持ちがわかります。
白い花びらに見えるのは、実は苞 (ホウ)です。
まあ、花として認知しても良いのではないでしょうか？

Starrush Whitetop

This is the first time I saw Starrush Whitetop.

One Japanese name is Shirasagi-kayasturi ; 

 Egret - Cyperaceae.

The flowers really look like flying egrets.

Grass is also delicate.

Another Japanese name is 'Shirasagi no Mai' ; Egret Dance 

and I can understand the feelings of those who 

wanted to give the name that way.

What look like white petals are actually bracts.

Well, isn't it okay to recognize it as a flower?

桜の幹がここにあり、ディスプレイの一部として使用されています。
繁華街の花屋さんとは違う特色の1つだと思います。

A cherry trunk is here and used as part of the display.
I think it's one of the characteristics that is different
 from the flower shops in the downtown area.

美しいものはいいな〜と思います。
I think beautiful things are good.

B. 紫陽花の季節 / Hydrangea Season

2022年6月20,21日 友人訪問 / Friend's Visit, 20th and 21st of June 2022

 友人訪問 / Friend's Visit

夫Rが渡英した後、私は、6~8月は、'ゲスト月間'と決め、以前からの友人、新しい友人含め、自宅へ招待することにしました。

最初のゲストは、デザイナーのKちゃんでした。

私がイラストレイターだった頃、Kちゃんはデザイナーになりたいと言って東京へ出てきました。

非力なりに彼女の役にたてばと思って話を聞き、その後彼女は自分の道を歩き始めました。

私は英国留学のために日本を離れ、しばらく彼女と音信不通でした。

私が本帰国し、個展を開催し始めると、彼女は毎回足を運んでくれていました。

どうもありがとう！

2022年4月の個展にも彼女は来てくれ、デザイン会社を辞めて、デザイナーとして独立しようとしいる話を聞きました。

一歩一歩、自分の道を歩きすすむ彼女を眩しく見るとともに、疲労しているようにも見えたので、ちょっと心配になりました。

彼女が鎌倉山宅へ遊びに行きたいと言ってくれたので、のちにメールで連絡し、日にちを決めました。

その日が今日でした。

彼女と食事をしつつおしゃべりをしました。

彼女が美しくデザインした仕事も見せてもらいました。

よい仕事をたくさんしてきていることを知りました。

本当に、よかった！

来てくれて、ありがとう！

日帰りの予定でしたが、結局お泊まりしていってくれました。

Kちゃんは、とてもスリムですが、強い意志を持つ、力強い女性だと思います。

彼女が元気でありつつ、独立したデザイナーとして成功してゆくことを祈っています。

おしゃれなお土産は、彼女のデザインセンスを思わせます。
ありがとう！

Friend's Visit

After my husband R left for Britain, I decided that June to August would be 'Guest Month', and I decided to invite some of my old and new friends to my house.

The first guest was designer K.

When I was an illustrator, K came to Tokyo saying she wanted to be 

a designer.

I heard her talking, hoping I could help her, and then she started walking her own way.

I left Japan to study in Britain, and I lost contact with her for a while.

Since I returned to Japan and started holding my exhibitions, she always comes to see me.

Thank you!

She also visited my exhibition in April 2022, and I heard that she was quitting her job at a design company and trying to become an independent designer.

She said she wanted to visit me in Kamakurayama, so I contacted her later by email and decided on a date.

That day was today.

We had our meals as well as our chatting.

She also showed me her works which she designed beautifully.

I found she's done a lot of good works.

I am very glad.

I felt thanks for coming!

She had just visited for the daytime, but she ended up staying the night.

K is very slim, but I think she is a powerful woman with a strong will.

I wish her well and continued success as an independent designer.

自宅周辺に縄張りを持つ鳥が複数います。

その1つにガビチョウ (画眉鳥)がいます。

私のブログにも何度も登場していますが、その個体が全く同じなのかは、私には判断がつきません。

ガビチョウは、中国南部から東南アジア北部にかけて生息し、日本にはペットとして輸入されました。

そのさえずりは美しいのですが、日本人にはちょっとやかましく感じられるほど、よく鳴きます。

鶯 (ウグイス) のモノマネが上手なのだそうです。

私が鎌倉山に住み始めた頃、あれは鶯だ！と聞いていた声が

ガビチョウであったことを、あとになって気がつきました。

今でも聞き分けが完璧にはできません。

今日は、ガビチョウの声を録画できました。

カメラは姿を探しますが、最後まで見つけられませんでした。

The camera looks for a bird, but never finds it.

Bird Song - Laughing Thrush : Gabichou

There are several birds with territories around my house.

One of them is Laughing Thrush : Gabichou in Japanese.

It has appeared in my blog many times, but I cannot judge whether the individual is exactly the same.

The Laughing Thrush inhabits from southern China to northern Southeast Asia, and was imported to Japan as a pet.

The song is beautiful, but it sings so often that Japanese people find it a bit noisy.

It seems that the bird is good at mimicking Japanese Bush Warner : 

Uguisu in Japanese.

When I started living in Kamakurayama, I thought the songs were by Uguisu! but later I realized they were by Laughing Thrush.

I still can't tell the difference perfectly.

Today, I was able to record the song of the Laughing Thrush.

1) 紫陽花の季節 / Hydrangea Season

鎌倉は今、紫陽花の季節を迎えています。

あじさい寺とよばれる明月院やあじさい鑑賞の名所も多くあります。

以前、タクシーの運転者さんから、鎌倉の観光客は、桜の季節よりもあじさいの季節の方は最も多いと聞きました。

我が家にも紫陽花はいくつかありますが、2,3年前に植えたばかりで、土地に馴染むのに精一杯という感じです。

他の場所や他の方の庭の紫陽花の方が、大きく元気に咲いているように思います。

今日は、横浜の大倉山の歯医者さんへ歯の健診とクリーニングに出かけました。

半月前ほど前に、予約していましたが、その時は夫Rが一緒でした。

Rの渡英前で、彼のクリーニングの時間が足りなかったので、私の時間枠を譲り、予約をあらたに入れたのでした。

今日が、新しい予約の日でした。

自宅からバス停までの道で、紫陽花の写真を撮りました。

Hydrangea Season

Kamakura is now in the hydrangea season.

There is Meigetsu-in Temple, also known as Hydrangea Temple in Kamakura, and Kamakura has many famous hydrangea viewing spots.

I heard from a taxi driver that the number of tourists in Kamakura is higher during the hydrangea season than during the cherry blossom season.

I have some hydrangeas in my garden, but I have just planted them 

a couple years ago, so I feel they are still doing their best to adapt to the garden.

I think the hydrangeas in other places and other people's gardens are blooming bigger and more healthily.

Today, I went to my dentist in Ōkurayama, Yokohama for a dental checkup and cleaning.

I had had a reservation about half a month ago, but my husband R was with me at that time.

He didn't have enough time for his cleaning before he left for Britain, so I gave my time slot him and made a new appointment.

Today was the day for the new appointment.

I took pictures of hydrangeas on the way from my house to the bus stop.

2) 苔丸 / Kokemaru

苔丸

苔丸さんは素敵な草花屋さんです。

最寄りバス停前に苔丸さんがあります。

待ち時間を撮影したり、眺めたりして

楽しみます。

ありがと〜、苔丸さん！

 Kokemaru

 Kokemaru is a lovely grass flower shop.

The shop is in front of the nearest bus stop.

I enjoy taking pictures and looking while I wait.

Thank you ~, Kokemaru!

上の写真は、歯医者さんへ向かう時、通りを挟んで撮影しました。

下の写真は、歯医者さんからの帰りに撮影しました。

帰りは、苔丸さんのお店の前を歩くので、植物に焦点をあてて撮影できます。

朝よりも光が強く当たって、はっきりと植物が写っています。

The photograph above was taken across the street on my way to the dentist.

The photographs below were taken on the way home from the dentist.

On the way back, I walk in front of Kokemaru, so I can focus on the plants and take pictures.

The light was stronger than in the morning, and the plants were clearly visible in the photographs.

3) 大倉山 / Okurayama

東急・大倉山駅から歯医者まで行きは歩き、帰りは途中からバスに乗りました。

I walked from Tokyu Ōkurayama Station to the dentist, and took a bus on the way back.

道祖神
いままで何度も通った道でしたが、
この道祖神 (ドウソジン) に気がつきませんでした。

 Dōsojin
I have passed this road many times,
but I never noticed this Dōsojin.

信仰

道祖神は、通行人や地域の守り神、人々の信仰の厚さで

その力も持続すると私は思っています。
どれくらいの人がこの道祖神に気がつき、
手をあわせるのでしょうか？
私は手を合わせなかったけれど、

次回は心がけましょう！

Faith

 I believe Dōsojin are guardian deities of passers-by

 and local communities the strength of the faith of 

the people will sustain the guardian power.

How many people notice this Dosojin and

 join their hands in prayer : Añjali Mudrā?

I didn't put my hands together, but let's try next time!

鎌倉でも燕を見ますが、なかなか撮影できません。

Swallow
I see swallows in Kamakura as well,
 but I can't quite photograph them.

暗渠のスペースを緑道にしていると聞きました。

Futo Green Path
I heard that the culvert space is being used as a green road.

ツツジやハナミズキの季節は綺麗です。

The season of  Rhododendron and 
Flowering Dogwood is beautiful.

歯医者のA先生、いつもありがとうございます。

歯科衛生士さんは、新しい方でした。
