1) 乗り物好き / We Like Vehicles
私も夫Rも飛行機が好きです。
私達は飛行機だけでなく、飛行船、ヘリコプター、蒸気機関車、潜水艦、船も好き。
Rは車が好きですが、なぜか私は車にはあまり興味が持てません。
私の場合は、絵本の『いたずらきかんしゃちゅうちゅう』[原書：1937 / 日本語版1961 / バージニア・バーリントン(1909 -1968)] の延長線上に全てがあるように思います。
バージニア・バーリントンと絵本については下記。
乗り物が目的の旅行も数多くしています。
2019年7月には、セヴァーン谷鉄道 / Severn Valley Railway の蒸気機関車に乗りました。

We Like Vehicles
Both I and my husband R like aeroplanes.
We do not only like aeroplanes but also helicopters, steam locomotives, submarines and ships.
R likes cars, but for some reason I'm not very interested in cars.
In my case, I think that everything is an extension of the picture book "Choo Choo" [Original : 1937 / Japanese version 1961 / by Virginia Lee Burton ].

We also travel a lot for the purpose of vehicles.
In July, 2019 we rode a steam locomotive on the Severn Valley Railway.

2) 有川 浩作品 / Hiro Arikawa's Works
有川 浩 (アリカワ ヒロ / 1972 ~) さんの作品を最初に読んだのは、
別冊小説新潮『Story Seller』(2008)
の中の短編 : "ストーリー・セラー" だったと思います。
その後、下記の本を出版順ではありませんが読みました。
『阪急電車』（2008 / 幻冬舎）
『植物図鑑』（2009 / 角川書店）
『県庁おもてなし課』（2011 / 角川書店）
また小説を元にしたアニメや映画・ドラマも見ています。
ただシーズンになっているものは全作読んでいないものもあります。
どの段階でかは忘れましたが、作家が男性であると思っていたのが、女性であることを知り驚きました。
有川さんは自衛隊へ取材に行ってもいるし、本人もミリタリー系が好きなようです。
有川作品を通して私は自衛隊への興味がよりおきました。

Hiro Arikawa's Works
I think that the first time I read a work by Hiro Arikawa (1972 ~) which is a short story in "Separate novel Shincho 'Story Seller' " (2008) in Japanese.
After that, I read the books below, though not in the order of publication.
"Library War Series" (2006 - 2007 / Kadokawa Shoten)
"Hankyū Densha " (2008 / Gentosha)
"Botanical Encyclopedia" (2009 / Kadokawa Shoten)
"Prefectural Office Omotenashi (Hospitality) Division"
(2011 / Kadokawa Shoten)
"Flying Public Relations Office" (2012 / Gentosha)
"Three Old Men Series" (2009 - 2015 /Bungeishunjū)
I also watched animations, films and dramas based on the novels, above.
However, there are some of each series that I have not read.
I forgot at what stage, but I found out and was surprised that the writer is a woman, I thought the writer was a man.
Arikawa had visited the Self-Defense Forces for collecting data, and she seems to like military worlds.
Through Arikawa's work, I became interested in the Self-Defense Forces more than before.
3) 自衛隊関連のアニメ
Self-Defense Force Related Animation
私は自衛隊を題材にするのアニメもいくつか見ています。
"よみがえる空 -RESCUE WINGS-"(2006)"は、石川県小松市にある
航空救難団小松救難隊を舞台にしています。
実際に救援に従事する、地道な方々を描いているので、地味な印象の作品で、いわゆる"少年ジャンプ"的作品ではありません。
私は好きで、英国留学前後1度づつ見ました。
この作品を見て、小松基地にいつか見学に行きたいと思うようになりました。
基地見学はできていませんが、小松飛行場は、今回の航空祭会場の百里基地と同様に、軍民共用飛行場なので、私はJalを利用した時に、"ここがあの作品の舞台..."と感慨深く離陸しました。
"図書館戦争"(2008 ~ )は 、有川作品のアニメ化で、
"図書館戦争 革命のつばさ" (2012) は、劇場版アニメ版です。
原作を読んでアニメを見るとガッカリすることもありますが、このアニメは安心して楽しめました。
"GATE 自衛隊 彼の地にて、斯く戦えり" (2015 - 2016) は、英国留学から戻ってから見ました。
前情報がない状態で見て、異世界要素と具体的な自衛隊描写のミックスに、最初はちょっと戸惑いましたが、次第に面白く感じるようになりました。
2つの要素が融合されていると言うよりは、合体していると言う印象でチグハグ感は最後まで続きますが、主人公の自衛官 "イタミ" が魅力的な人物で、作品を最後まで楽しむことができました。
留学によって、西洋人が基本的に攻撃的で自分を最優先することになんの迷いもなく、押し通すことができることを知った (道徳心にかけていることこの上ない) ので、このアニメーションを見つつ、お人好し日本人には自衛隊が必要で、また自衛隊の強化も必要であることを、以前よりずっと感じました。
(西洋人全てが上記のようであると言うのではありません。
日本人でもひどい人はたくさんいます。
ただ民族の気質と教育の違いを認識していないと日本人は具体的かつ精神的に犯されます。
基本的に日本の美徳が通じる相手ではないので、理解を得るには説明が必要ですし、得られない場合は、自衛隊が必要です！)
"GATE 自衛隊 彼の地にて、斯く戦えり" は、面白かったので、Rにも紹介し、2019年に一緒に見ました。
彼も楽しんで見ていました。
ゲートSeason2 として、"自衛隊 彼の海にて、斯く戦えり"が、2017年に"抜錨編"として刊行され、2020年(11月30日)に最終章の
第5巻・"回天編" が出版されるそうです。
読んで見たいと思うものの、現在、私は読みたい本が山積み中で、
"ゲート" の門まで行き着けそうもありません。

Self-Defense Force Related Animation
I also watched some animations about the Self-Defense Forces.
I watched "Yomigaeru Sora -RESCUE WINGS-" (2006), set in the Air Rescue Wing Komatsu Detachment : JASDF in Komatsu City, Ishikawa Prefecture.
It is a work with a sober impression, not a so-called "Weekly Shōnen Jump" type, because it depicts honest people who are actually engaged in their work.
I like it, and I watched it before and after studying in Britain.
After seeing this work, I came to want to visit Komatsu Base someday.
I haven't been able to tour the base, but Komatsu Airport is a military-civilian shared airfield, like the Hyakuri base at the air festival venue this time, so when I used Jal, I thought, "This is the stage for that work ..." I was deeply moved as we took off.
"Library War" (2008 ~) is an animated version of Arikawa's work, and "Library War : The Wings of Revolution" (2012) is an animation film.
Sometimes it may be disappointing to read an original and watch an anime, but I enjoyed this animation without disappointment.
I watched "GATE" (2015 - 2016) after studying in Britain.
Looking at it without any previous information, for me, the mix of different world elements and concrete depictions of the Self-Defense Forces was a little confusing at first, but gradually I became more interested.
Rather than saying that the two elements are fused, the impression that they are united continues until the end, but the main character, the self-defense official "ITAMI", is an attractive person so I enjoyed watching to the end.
The original is a novel by Takumi Yanai (? ~), But I haven't read it.
The author seems to have written the novel after having direct experience of the Self-Defense Force....I see ....
By studying abroad, I found out that Westerners are basically aggressive and push their priorities without any confusion (there is nothing to do with morality), so while watching this animation, the Japanese people who are easy marks need a Self-Defense Force and we should strengthen the Self-Defense Force, and I felt like this much more than before.
(Not all Westerners are aggressive and push their priorities without any confusion.
There are many terrible Japanese people.
However, if we do not recognize the difference between ethnic disposition and education, the Japanese will be violated concretely and mentally.
Basically, Westerners are not people who understand the virtues of Japan so we need explanations to get their understanding, and if we can't get it, we need the Self-Defense Forces!)
"GATE" is fun, so I introduced it to R and we watched it together in 2019.
He also enjoyed watching.
As Gate Season 2 ; "Self-Defense Forces in the Sea" was published as "Anchor Edition" beginning in 2017, until in 2020 (November 30), the final chapter, Volume 5, "Kaiten Edition" will be published.
I want to read them, but now I have a lot of books I want to read and
I don't think I can reach a gate of the Gate.

4) 実写版 / Live-action Versions
"よみがえる空 -RESCUE WINGS-"も"図書館戦争"も実写版があります。
どちらもアニメーションの方が私は好きです。
"図書館戦争"の実写版は、私にはキャスティングに違和感を持ちつつも、最後まで見ることができました。
ですが、"よみがえる空 -RESCUE WINGS-"の実写版・
"空へ-救いの翼 RESCUE WINGS-" (2008)は、色々な面で耐え難く、見ている途中で放棄してしまいました。
協力した航空自衛隊が気の毒でなりません....。
このように航空自衛隊への興味を募らせ、2019年12月1日に、ようやく百里基地航空祭へゆくことができたのです。
次が主役の百里基地航空祭のセクションです。

Live-action Versions
There are live-action versions of both "Yomigaeru Sora - Rescue Wings" and "Library War".
I like both animations better.
I was able to watch the live-action version of "Library War" to the end, although I felt uncomfortable with their casting.
However, the live-action version of "Yomigaeru Sora - Rescue Wings" : "To the Sky-Wings of Salvation RESCUE WINGS-" (2008) was unbearable in many ways and I stopped watching half way.
I feel sorry for the Air Self-Defense Force that had cooperated with the film ....
It didn't become an anime, but the live-action drama of Arikawa's "Flying Public Relations Office" is very good, and I think it was a good promotion for the Japan Air Self-Defense Force.
In this way, I was able to get interested in the Japan Air Self-Defense Force and finally went to the Hyakuri Air Base Festival on 1st of December 2019.
