姉Yが我が家に昨日から泊まっています。

午後から、Yと夫Rと私の3人で、鎌倉坂之下地区に行きました。

目的は、Rお気に入りのカフェルセット鎌倉 / café recette 鎌倉でした。

My older sister Y has been staying in our house since yesterday.

In the afternoon, the three of us ;  Y, my husband R, and I went to the Sakanoshita area of ​​Kamakura.

Our destination was café recette Kamakura, R's favourite place.

ここには複数回来ているので、店内の撮影への意欲が落ちていて、'はい、記録ね〜' という感じの写真です。

撮影している時は、そのような自分の気持ちに気が付きませんでしたが、帰宅後、自分の写真を見て、自分の心持ちを認識しました。

As I've been here several times, I wasn't very motivated to take photographs inside the cafe, so these photographs had a 'Okay, just for the record' feel to them.

I didn't realise how I felt while I was taking the photographs, but when I got home and looked at my photographs, I realised how I felt.

ここは、Yに「こんなカフェがあるのよ」と紹介し、

店内には入りませんでした。

随分前に、私とRは1度訪れ、フラスコにコーヒーが

入っていることに驚かされました。

おしゃれさにこだわっているカフェだという印象を持っています。

I introduced this place to Y, saying "There's a cafe like this," 

but we didn't go inside.
I and R have been here once a long time ago, 

and I was surprised to see the coffee served in flasks.
My impression is that it's a cafe that puts an emphasis on style.

おまけ / Extra

一石二鳥
この周辺は、路地が入り組んだ住宅街です。
が、観光客が多く訪れる場所で、カフェ激戦区？です。
一般の家が観光客を意識して、このようなディスプレイが
されているのだと思います
防犯の意味もあり、そして自己顕示欲も感じます。

Killing Two Birds With One Stone

This area is a residential area with a maze of alleyways.

But it's also a popular tourist destination, 

and a battleground of cafes.

I think ordinary house has this display with tourists in mind.

It's partly for crime prevention, and partly out of a desire to show off.

3) 坂の下カフェ / Sakanoshita Cafe

A. 山側から / From Mountain Side

静かだったこの地区が全国的に名前が知れるようになったのは、

"坂の下カフェ" がTVドラマ : "最後から二番目の恋" (2012放映) のロケーション地に使用されたからでした。

我が家には、TVがありませんし、2012年当時、私達は二階堂 (鎌倉市) に住んでいたので、この地区は、あまり縁がありませんでした。

また、私が人工股関節の手術を受けていたので、歩く範囲に限界があり、長らく、この地を訪れませんでした。

ですが、2013年に鎌倉山へ引っ越しをし、その後、ここに来やすくなりましたし、"坂の下カフェ"にも行きました。

TVドラマで有名になったカフェでしたが、出されるお茶やスィーツは美味しかったし、スタッフさん達の応対も快いもので、感心し、このカフェに好印象を持ちました。

この地区へも複数回、足を運ぶようになり、上記のカフェも知りました。

From Mountain Side

This quiet area became known nationwide because "Sakanoshita Cafe" was used as a location for the TV drama "Second to Last Love / Saigo kara Nibanme no Koi" (aired in 2012).

We don't have a TV in our house, and we lived in Nikaidō, Kamakura in 2012, so we didn't have much connection to this area.

Also, I had hip replacement surgeries, so I was limited in how far 

I could walk, and we didn't visit this area for a long time.

However, after moving to Kamakurayama in 2013, it became easier to come here, and we also visited "Sakanoshita Cafe".

The cafe became famous because of the TV drama, and I was impressed by the delicious tea and sweets served, and the friendly service of the staff, so I had a good impression of this cafe.

I started to visit this area several times, and learned about the above cafe.

私達は、山側から海側へ向かって歩いていたので、
"坂の下カフェ"の裏側に出ました。

We were walking from the mountain side towards the sea side, 

so we came out at the back of "Sakanoshita Cafe".

"坂の下カフェ" は、Yに以前に紹介しました。

彼女は我が家に宿泊中に、一人でここに来たことがあり、飲食もしています。

私へのお土産に、'しらすのパイ' を持ち帰ってくれて、美味しかったことを覚えています。

Rはシラスが食べられないので、私ひとりで食べました。

(彼は目のついた魚が苦手です)

私達がここを通りかかったとき、14:30頃でした。
誰もまっていないことに、ちょっと驚きました。
一時の爆発的な人気はなくなったようです。
通常のカフェとしてここを気に入っている人々は、
歓迎する現象ではないかと思います。

Just photography.

It was around 2:30pm when we passed by.

I was a bit surprised to see that no one was waiting.

It appears that its temporary burst of popularity has died down.

I imagine this is a welcome change for people who 

like this place as a regular cafe.

I've introduced "Sakanoshita Cafe" to Y before.

She came here by herself while staying in our house and had a lunch.

She brought back a "whitebait pie" as a souvenir for me, and I remember it was delicious.

R can't eat whitebait, so I ate it by myself.

(He doesn't like fish with eyes.)

私はここの植栽、庭が好きです。

長らくこのカフェに入っていないので、庭も見ていません。

I like the plants and the garden here.

I haven't been to this cafe for a while, so I haven't seen the garden.

ここから、海はすぐです。

私達は、海辺へ向かいました。

The sea is just a short distance from here.

昨年暮れに、2022年4月に開催した私の個展 : "Coonie's Sky, 2022" の反省含め、2024年4月開催予定の私の個展について、私がGalarie412のスタッフのChizukaさんと相談したかったので、Chizukaさんに時間を作っていただきたいと思い、彼女にお願いしました。

その際、彼女から私の姉Yも一緒にと言われ、本日、Chizukaさん、姉Y、夫Rと私の4人で、夕飯を一緒にしつつ、話をしました。

RもYも私を強く暖かくサポートしてくれる人たちです。

お店は、Chizukaさんがよく利用している、

"ラ・キアーラ / La CHIARA" へ行きました。

"ラ・キアーラ / La CHIARA"

前菜
アラカルトで注文しました。
これを '前菜' として書きましたが、ワインを飲みつつというのが
前提にあるので、ほとんどの注文が前菜的な料理でした。

Starter 
We ordered ala carte.
I wrote this down as 'Starter', but the assumption was that
we were drinking wine, so most of our orders were
 appetizer-like dishes.

Meal

At the end of last year, I wanted to consult with Chizuka, a staff member at Galarie412, about my exhibition scheduled to be held in April 2024, including reflections on my exhibition. : "Coonie's Sky, 2022" held in April 2022, so I asked Chizuka to make time for me.

At that time, she asked me to bring my sister Y, so today, the four of us - Chizuka, my sister Y, my husband R and I - had dinner together and talked.

Both R and Y are people who support me strongly and warmly.

We went to "La CHIARA", a restaurant that Chizuka often visits.

Rはニンニク、ネギ、玉ねぎなどのアレルギーがあります。
このお店の通常のお料理にはこれらが何かしら入っています。
お腹に溜まる料理として、マカロニチーズを
作っていただきました。
ありがとうございます。
Rはこれが気に入って、再び注文し、2皿、食べました。

R's dish: Macaroni and Cheese

R is allergic to garlic, leeks, onions, etc.

The regular dishes at this restaurant contain some of these.

They made macaroni and cheese as a filling dish.

Thank you very much.

R liked it so much that he ordered it again and ate two plates.

イタリアパルマ産　生ハムとサラミの盛り合わせ
バナナが添えられているのは、珍しく感じます。
後に知りましたが、バナナと生ハムの相性は良いというのが
知られているそうです。
塩けと甘味のバランスが良いからでしょうか？
ちなみにRは、サラミは食べらず、生ハムは苦手です。

It seems unusual to have a banana on the side.

I later found out that bananas and prosciutto are 

known to go well together.

Perhaps it's because they have a good balance of 

saltiness and sweetness?

By the way, R doesn't eat salami and doesn't like prosciutto.

2) 景色 / View

"ラ・キアーラ / La CHIARA"は、表参道交差点の角地のビル7階にあります。

夜の窓からの眺めは素敵です。

私達の席は、窓辺ではありませんでしたが、下の写真は、窓辺の席から撮影しました。

"La CHIARA" is located on the 7th floor of a building on the corner of Omotesando intersection.

The view from the window at night is wonderful.

Our seats were not by the window, but the photographs below were taken from there.

楽しい食事会でした。

ですが、肝心の個展の話はあまりできなかったように思います。

まあ、でも、個展に関係する人たちの親睦を深めることになったので、満足しています。

皆さん、ありがとうございました。

It was a fun dinner.

However, I don't think we got to talk much about my actual exhibitions.

But I'm happy that it helped deepen the friendship between those involved in the exhibition.

② 2023年1月19日 西松幹彦個展 - Galarie412 / Nishimatsu Mikihiko Exhibition in Galarie412, 19th of January, 2023

姉YとGalarie412で、私と夫Rは、待ち合わせをしました。

この日、ギャラリーでは、'西松幹彦 (ニシマツミキヒコ /?~ ) 個展: Work on paper' が開催されていました。

画廊訪問時、私は、西松氏について、全く知りませんでしたし、今も、多くを知りません。

彼の作品から、ベン・シャーン(1898 - 1969) のペン画を思い起こしました。

西松氏は、カナダのモントリオールに住んでいらっしゃる(いらっしゃた)と聞聞きました。

現在の制作場所は、私には分かりません。

I and my husband R met up with my sister Y in Galarie412.

On that day, the gallery was holding the exhibition 'Nishimatsu Mikihiko (?~ ) Exhibition : Work on Paper'.

When I visited the gallery, I knew absolutely nothing about Nishimatsu, and even now I don't know much about him.

His work reminded me of the pen drawings of Ben Shahn  (1898 - 1969).

I heard that Nishimatsu lives (or used to live) in Montreal, Canada.

I don't know where he currently works.

Chizukaさんですか？
Chizukaさんは、ギャラリーのスタッフさんです。
私は、このギャラリーで個展を開催するとき、
彼女には、大変お世話になっていますし、頼りにもしています。
このドローイングが彼女にとても似ているように感じます。

Is this Chizuka?

Chizuka is a staff member at the gallery.

When I hold my exhibitions in this gallery, 

she has helped me a lot and I have relied on her.

I feel this drawing is very similar to her.

西松氏の作品は、軽いタッチで、味があり、好きです。

I like Nishimatsu's works because they are light and tasteful.

Simple Monochrome Works

I think it's really skillful.

The sense is lovely as well!

ギャラリーの元オーナー、村越さんの写真が飾ってありました。
前日の1月18日は彼女の命日でしたものね。

There was a photograph of the gallery's former owner, 

Murakoshi San, on display.

The previous day, 18th of January was the anniversary of her death.

Chizukaさんが写真に気づいて、写真をしまい、壁に別の絵を飾っていました。

Chizuka noticed the photograph, put it away, and hung a different picture on the wall.

素敵な個展でした。

心が喜ぶ作品群、ありがとうございました。

It was a wonderful exhibition.

夫Rと私は、表参道のGalrie412で、姉Yと待ち合わせをしました。

Yに会う前に、Rが英国へ持ってゆく土産を買いに "ナンバーシュガー / Number Sugar"  店へ向かいました。

向かう途中で、ウィンドウ・ディスプレイの豪華さに目を惹かれ、撮影しました。

東京は、華やかなものがたくさんあります。

その1つがウィンドウ・ディスプレイです。

今回、最も印象に残ったのは、ルイ・ヴィトンのウィンドウ・ディスプレイでした。

草間彌生

'草間彌生及びその作品' をウィンドウ・ディスプレイに
使用するセンスは、都会ならではと感じます。
センスだけでなく、お金もかけられるという環境ですね。
草間彌生 (クサマヤヨイ / 1929 ~ /  詳細 →★)と思われる
フィギュアも飾ってあり、そしてそれは動きました！

Yayoi Kusama

The sense of using 'Yayoi Kusama and her works' as window 

displays is something that can only be found in the city.

It's an environment where you can not only have a sense of style, 

but also spending money.

There was also a figure that appeared to be 

Yayoi Kusama (1929 ~ / Detail →★) on display, and it moved!

My husband R and I had a date with my sister Y at Galrie412 in Omotesando.

Before meeting Y, we headed to the"Number Sugar" shop, where R was buying souvenirs to take to the UK.

On the way there, I was drawn to the gorgeous window displays and took some photos.

Tokyo has a lot of gorgeous things.

One of them is window displays.

The thing that impressed me the most this time was the Louis Vuitton window display.

フィギュアの顔は、本人にあまり似ているようには思いませんでしたが、ウィンドウ・ガラスに水玉を描いているような動きのアイディアに、感動しました。

I didn't think the figure's face looked very similar to the person in question, but I was impressed by the idea of ​​the movement, which looked like drawing polka dots on a window pane.

B. 宇宙船か植物か？ / Spaceships Or Plants?

エルメス / HERMESのウィンドウは、宇宙船か、花を思わせるオブジェに商品を絡ませていました。

今期のモチーフに関連があると推測しますが、私が、ファッションに疎いので、正確なことはわかりません。

"HERMES は、アルテミスの月面活動 (アルテミス計画) を支援する軌道上の前哨基地であるゲートウェイに配置される宇宙天気計器パッケージです。"

上記の記事を見つけました。

2023年1月のエルメスのウィンドウ・ディスプレイは、きっと、この記事の内容に関連して、宇宙船もしくは宇宙がテーマだったのでしょう。

アルテミスは、ギリシア神話に登場する狩猟・貞潔の女神で、上記の小惑星の名前: 'アルテミス/ 105 Artemis' に用いられています。

また、ブランドのエルメス/HERMESには、アルテミスシリーズのデザインがあるようです。

2023年のウィンドウに使用されていた商品は、アルテミスシリーズなのかもしれません。

Spaceships Or Plants?

In the HERMES window display, products were entangled with objects reminiscent of spaceships or flowers.

I guess it has something to do with this season's motif, but I'm not very knowledgeable about fashion so I don't know for sure.

I found the above article.

Hermes’ window display in January 2023 will surely have a spaceship or space theme, in relation to the content of this article.

Artemis is the goddess of hunting and chastity in Greek mythology, and is also used in the name of the asteroid : '105 Artemis' mentioned above.

The brand Hermes also appears to have an Artemis series of designs.

The products used in the 2023 window may be from the Artemis series.

自分のオブジェ作品を思い起こします。

【追記】の内容を踏まえると、このディスプレイは、
月と宇宙船 (オリオン？）を表現していると思われます。

 C. 赤い車 / Red Cars

赤い車の使い方が面白いと思って撮影しました。
どこのお店かは不明です。

I thought the use of red cars were interesting
so I took photographs.
It is unclear which shop it is.

床面のリフレクション効果が好きです。
I like the reflective effect on the floor.

D. タンタン/ TinTin

"タンタン ショップ / "THE TINTIN SHOP" を見つけて、嬉しくなりました。

表参道にこのお店があることが、私には謎でした。

タンタンは、漫画『タンタンの冒険』[作：エルジェ (1907 - 1983)] の主人公です。

エルジェはベルギーの漫画家で、『タンタンの冒険』は彼の代表作です。

私がタンタンを知ったのは、高校生の時でした。

当時、私にとって、'漫画' の絵柄のイメージは、日本の漫画から来ていました。

タンタンは、私のイメージする漫画の絵柄とは違い、イラストレーションに近いものでした。

今は、漫画とイラストレーションは同一視され、漫画家もアーティストと呼ばれる時代になったので、私の当時の感覚を説明するには、難しいものがあると感じます。

まあ、とにかく、タンタンは、私には漫画という認識を超える雰囲気を持っていました。

その頃から、私はタンタンが好きで、読むこともできないのに、英語版の『タンタンの冒険』(雑誌サイズ）を買いました。

Rに会って、英語の発音が、ティンティン/ TinTinであることを知り、驚きました。

私の友人M (日本人) の夫Rob (英国人) もタンタンが好きだと知り、嬉しくなりました。

RもRobがタンタンを好きなことを知っています。

このお店の前を通った時、彼のことを思い出し、Rと彼の話をしました。

Tintin

I was happy to find "THE TINTIN SHOP".

It was a mystery to me that this shop was in Omotesando.

Tintin is the main character of the comic "The Adventures of Tintin" [created by Hergé (1907-1983)].

Hergé was a Belgian cartoonist and his most famous work is "The Adventures of Tintin".

I first found about Tintin when I was in high school.

At that time, my image of the style of "comics : Manga" came from Japanese Manga.

Tintin's style was different from my image of the Manga style, and was closer to illustrations for me.

At that time, Manga-ka ; meant comic book creator, comics creator or comics maker.

In Japan, nowadays, comics and illustrations are considered the same, and a Manga-ka is called an artist, so I think it's difficult to explain the feeling I had at the time.

Anyway, Tintin had an atmosphere that went beyond my perception of comics.

Since then, I liked Tintin, and even though I couldn't read it, I bought the English version of "The Adventures of Tintin" (magazine size).

I was surprised when I met R and learned that the English pronunciation is Tintin, because in Japan we call him Tan Tan.

I was happy to find out that my friend M (Japanese)'s husband Rob (British) also likes Tintin.

R also knows that Rob likes Tintin.

When we passed by this shop, I remembered Rob and we talked about him.

2) 日本看護協会ビル

日本看護協会ビル
おしゃれなファッションブルが、日本看護協会ビルだと知り、
ちょっと驚きました。

 the Japan Nursing Association Building.

路面は、"RIMOWA" と "HUBLOT" のお店です。
At street level are the "RIMOWA " and "HUBLOT" shops.

3)  'ナンバーシュガー' / 'Number Sugar'

以前、'Galerie412' のスタッフ、Chizukaさんから、 

'ナンバーシュガー / Number Sugar' のキャラメルをいただきました。

'ナンバーシュガー / Number Sugar' は、キャラメルのお店です。

12種類のキャラメルが種類ごとにナンバーリングされています。

キャラメルが、おしゃれなラッピングをされて、通常のキャラメルと印象がとても違います。

美味しさもありますが、なんといっても、見せ方が上手なのだと感じます。

We were previously given some caramels from "Number Sugar" by Chizuka, a staff member at Galerie412.

"Number Sugar" is a caramel shop.

There are 12 different kinds of caramel, each numbered.

The caramel is wrapped in a stylish packaging, giving it a very different impression from regular caramel.

It's delicious, but I think the way it's presented is also very clever.

好きな味 (番号) を選ぶ行為が楽しいです。
この日は、Rが主にこの選択を楽しんでいました。
また、スタッフが英語が話せたので、
質問をしつつの彼女らとの会話も楽しんだようです。
Rは、感じの良いお店のスタッフと会話をするのが大好きです。
私より、ずっと社交的なんですよね。

Sold Individually
It's fun to choose your favorite flavour (number).

On this day, R was the one who mainly enjoyed 

making this selection.

Also, since the staff spoke English, he seemed to enjoy chatting 

with them and asking them questions.

R loves chatting with friendly shop staff.

He is a lot more sociable than I am.

彼はおしゃべりをしすぎて、約束の時間があることを
忘れがちです。
今日もYとの約束の時間が迫ってきているのに、
おしゃべりに専念。
いつものことながら、ちょっと私をナーバスな気持ちにさせます。

He talks so much that he often forgets that we have appointments.

Today, too, our appointment with Y was fast approaching,

 but he was still concentrating on chatting.

As always, this makes me a little nervous.
