品川の友人宅 / Friend's Flat in Shinagawa

東京現代美術館で行われた『特撮展』を先に'公開'したので、時間が前後している内容になりました。

I published my section "TOKUSATSU Exhibition" in the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo before this, so the sequence is not right.

1) 夜の品川 / Night in Shinagawa

あちらに東京タワー、でも見えない？
Over there is Tokyo Tower,
although you cannot see?

明日は '模型の東京タワー' を見るつもりなので、
本物を撮影しておこうと思いました。

I will look at 'Tokyo Tower model' tomorrow,
so I would take a photograph of the real one for now.

海洋大学の学生が毎晩、ボートこぎの練習をしているのだとか.....

I heard that students of Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology, practice rowing a boat every night.

2) 素敵な食事 / Lovely Meal

お勤めの後なのに、いつも素敵な晩ご飯を用意してくれます。
そして楽しい会話, おしゃべり。
いつも、ありがとうございます。

Even though they work for companies, afterwards
they always prepare lovely meals for my visits.
And delightful conversation and chatting.
Thank you very much!

"ドミニクサブロン/ dominique saibron"
A ちゃんが "ドミニクサブロン/ dominique saibron" のパンを
買ってきてくれました。
東京は、世界の美味しいものがいち早く手に入るな〜とあらためて思いました。と、同時にその情報をキャッチする友人達に感謝！
クロワッサン、美味しかったです〜〜！

A chan bought bread from "dominique saibron".
I felt again that people can get international delicious food quickest in Tokyo, and I appreciate that my friends catch information about it.
'Croissant' is Delicious!

3) スー！/ Sue~!

こっち見て、スー！
Look at me, Sue!

ふにゃあ〜！
写真は嫌い！撮らないで！

Funya~!
Oh! Please!
I do not like photographs!
Please not me!

お願い！
ひざもとに来てお願いされたら.....
はい、やめます！

Please!
You are coming to my knees and you ask me so gently......
Oh! My Darling, I should stop it, of course.

2) 朝食 / Breakfast

清澄白河駅に東京現代美術館のために行くのですが、最近は、通りのかかしを見るのも楽しく感じます。

以前のことは下記

私には駅から美術館までが遠く思えるので、このかかし達は、救いです。

ほのぼのした気持ちになりますし、笑いも誘います。

I go to Kiyosumi-Shirakawa Station for only the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, although nowadays I enjoy looking at Scarecrows on the way.

I feel it is quite a distance from the station to the museum, so the Scarecrows help me.

I feel heartwarming and they give me laughter.

地下鉄の駅からあがると美術館の看板とかかし！

From underground to ground by steps,
there is the sign and a Scarecrow.

"天空の城ラピュタ"のロボットと少年パズーですか？

Are they the Robot and the boy,
Pazu of "Laputa: Castle in the Sky"?

ちょっとこわいぞ〜！
A little bit scary~!

ええと〜、C-3POですかぁ〜〜〜？
いや、大きな目がある、何〜〜？

Well, are you C-3PO~?
NO! I find your big eyes.
Who are you~~?

これは明瞭！
浦島太郎が東京スカイツリーを持っています。
その発想がよくわからないけれど、
わからないからおもしろいですね。

This is pretty clear！
Urashima Taro has a model of Tokyo Skytree.
I do not understand the idea, but it is fun,
because I do not understand the idea.

艶かしいユニコーン！

コンクールだったのですね。
しかも、東京現代美術館で表彰式があるのです！
テーマのひとつが東京スカイツリー！なるほど〜。

It is a competition for Scarecrows.
Moreover, the commendation ceremony will be
in the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo!
One of the themes of the competition is Tokyo Skytree, Indeed!

This says that you look at 'Sunflower',
and you will be fine.

[追記, 9月17日]

私はこのプロジェクトについてとても大きな勘違いをしていました。

このパビリオンのデザインコンテストだと思い、平田晃久氏の作品が選ばれたと思ったのですが、実際は、そのパビリオンの中で展示される作品のコンクールだったのです。

木戸龍介さんの作品が選ばれました。(展示: 8月11日〜9月9日)

木戸龍介さんの作品はあまりにも、平田晃久氏のデザインの流れにあり、非常に統一感があり(下の写真)、平田氏のコンセプトにも沿ったものであり、私は、違う作者であることに全く気がつきませんでした。

この公募の趣旨は、そういうものだったのでしょうか？

現代美術館の公募の説明には、下記のようにあります。

"この建築の未来を切り開く空間を舞台に、若手アーティストにチャレンジの場を提供し、東京のアート・シーンの活性化を目指します。"

なんとなく、私は違和感があります。

こんなにぴったりでは、チャレンジというよりも、企業が作家に発注した作品のような気がするのです。

木戸龍介さんも、若いのですから、そんなにおりこうさんな作品を

作らなくても良いのではないかしら？

でもでも、木戸龍介さんの作品は、とても素敵ですし、私は好きです。

他の入選者の作品もどこかでパネル展示されていたようですが、私は見ていません。

木戸さんの作品は『特撮展』の前に見たのですが、『特撮展』の後は、体力消耗しすぎて他 (パネル展示) を見る余裕がありませんでした。

残念！

[Postscript,17th of September]

I found that I had a big misunderstanding.

I thought the project is a design competition for a pavilion, and Akihisa Hirata's design was selected, in fact a competition was for art work to be displayed in the pavilion of Akihisa Hirata's design.

Ryunosuke Kido's work was selected. (Display: 11th of August ~ 9th of September)

Ryunosuke Kido's work follows Akihisa Hirata's design very much,

it has a sense of unity with the pavilion and goes along with Akihisa Hirata's concept, so I did not notice that he is completely different from Akihisa Hirata.

Is this project's purpose like that?

According to the explanation about the project by the Museum,

"The space within this pioneering structure will present a challenging venue for young artists and through it we aim to invigorate the Tokyo art scene."

Somehow I have a feeling of wrongness.

It is too similar to the design of the pavilion, as if the work was ordered from a company rather than the challenging or the invigorate.

Mr. Kido is young, so I wonder that you do not have to make such a goody-goody work.

However, anyway, his work is very beautiful and I like it.

The panels of other wining candidates's works were displayed somewhere in the museum, although I did not see them.

I visited the pavilion before "TOKUSATSU Exhibition",

although I was worn out after the exhibition, so I did not have energy for others.

That's too bad.

わかりずらいですが、上の曲面の作品の裏の内部です。
写真左の小さな穴がガラスのドアの取手になっているのです。
引き戸です。

It is difficult to understand that this is the inside of the curved back
of the work in the photograph above this one.

On the left of this photograph is a small hole with
a recessed handle to open the sliding glass door.
