1) 友人を訪ねて / Visit Friends
英国入国後、初めてロンドンを離れました。
私にとっては、"旅行" になりますが、夫のRにはそうは感じられないかもしれません。
彼の実家はマンチェスターで、彼は、ロンドン - マンチェスター間をなんども行き来しているからです。
今回は、マンチェスターよりも南に位置する
ウォルヴァーハンプトン/ Wolverhampton (発音が私には難しい...)
に寄りました。
この旅は、ウォルヴァーハンプトンに住む、Rの学生時代からの友人、J&S夫妻を訪ねる方がメインでした。
私が彼らに初めて会ったのは2013年で、彼らに会うと心が暖かくなり、英国に行くととても会いたくなります。
Rと私が結婚後に、日本を訪れた彼の友人は、彼らしかいず、日本人の私は彼らに一層、好意を持ちました。
2017年の渡英時にも彼らに会っています。
100年以上運行されているケーブルカーがある町、ブリッジノース/ Bridgnorthや、
ブラックカントリー・リビング ・ミュージアム(野外博物館) / Black Country Living Museum に連れて行っていただきました。
どちらも私の興味をひき、非常に楽しんだ場所でした。
その時のことは下記。

今回は3泊させていただきました。
I
left London for the first time after entering Britain.
For
me, it is "travelling", but my husband R, may not feel
like me.
His mother's house is near Manchester, and he travels many times between London and
Manchester.
This
time, we stopped in Wolverhampton (pronunciation difficult for me
...) located south of Manchester.
The
trip was mainly for visiting R's friends, J&S couple,
who have been friends with R since they were in university, and now live in Wolverhampton.
I first met them in 2013, and when I met them, my heart was warmed, and this time when I came to Britain, I really wanted to meet them.
Since R and I got married, they are the only friends who have visited
Japan, and as a Japanese, I had even more liking for them.
When
I visited Britain in 2017, I met them.
They took us to Bridgnorth, a town with a cable car that has been
operating for over 100 years, and to the Black Country Living Museum.
Both
were places of interest and very enjoyable.

窓からの景色
J&S夫妻の家に3泊しました。
こんな景色が毎日見ることができるなんて、素敵です。
広がる空間は、心を緩ませます。

It's
wonderful that they can see such scenery every day.
The wide space makes my mind relax.

| 朝食 英国にくるとクランペット(丸い形状のパン) が食べたくなります。 J&Sはそのことを覚えてくださっていて、用意してくれていました。 ありがとう！ Breakfast When I come to Britain, I would want to eat crumpet (round bread). J&S remember that and prepared it. Thank you! |
2) 友人の庭 / Garden of Friends
2017年に彼らを訪ねた時には、彼らの庭を散策する時間がありませんでした。
とても素敵な感じの庭であったので、今回は、是非ともその庭を散策したいと
思い、そして実現しました。
When I visited them in 2017, I had no time to stroll around in their garden.
It was a very nice garden, so this time I wanted to take a walk in the garden and realized it.

| 日本では、庭づくりは主婦がしているところが多いように思いますが、 この夫妻の庭は、主に、Jがしているそうです。 彼らがここに越してきたばかりの時に Sの意向で最初に物干しを設置したそうです。 2017年に初めて私がこの庭を見たときにこの物干しが一番好ましく思えました。 それは家族の庭を思わせ、そこに暖かさや幸福感があるように感じたからでした。 In Japan, housewives mainly seem to do the gardening, although here, the husband, J does. As soon as they moved here they set up the clothesline by S's intention. When I first saw this garden in 2017, I felt this clothesline was the best feature of the garden. The clothesline made me think of a family garden, where there is a sense of warmth and happiness. |

| ベンチが複数設置されて、それぞれの場所で違う風景が楽しめます。 A few benches are set up and we can enjoy different scenery in each place. 
それぞれのベンチに座ることで気分転換にもなり、
心が安らぐこともできます。
良いアイディアも浮かびそう.....
Sitting
on each bench would also change my mind,
I
can also relax my mind.
Good
ideas are likely to come up .....

| イングリッシュ・ガーデン ジャングルの雰囲気がするのが イングリッシュ・ガーデン(イギリス式庭園) だと私は思っています。 整頓されてしまっているのは コンチネンタル・ガーデン(イタリア式もしくはフランス式) に感じます。  English Garden

カーネーションと撫子
ナデシコというと日本らしさを感じますが、カーネーションは、西洋を感じます。
この感覚は日本人は一般的に持っているように思います。
あれは大和撫子に由来しているのでしょうけれど、その元はやっぱり撫子の花のように思います。
Carnation and Nadeshiko
At
first, I thought it was Nadeshiko
: Dianthus?, though it is Carnation,
isn't it?
I
found out that Carnation is in the family of Caryophyllaceae and the genus of Dianthus.
For
me, Nadeshiko feels Japanese, but Carnation feels Western.
This
feeling seems to be common in Japanese people.
Now I
think of it, the nickname of the Japanese women's football team is
"Nadeshiko Japan", right?
This may have come from Yamato Nadeshiko, but I think the original is Nadeshiko
Flower.
According to Wiki about Yamato Nadeshiko,

nadeshiko (やまとなでしこ or 大和撫子)
is a Japanese term
meaning the "personification of
an idealized Japanese woman",or "the epitome of pure,
feminine beauty"; poised, decorous, kind, gentle, graceful, humble, patient, virtuous,

私はこの周辺が好きです。

is a small lighthouse, as if the pond is the sea.

like this area.
   夜間には、灯が点ります。素敵！ At night, the light comes on. Lovely! |

英国の多くの庭に、エキゾチックな雰囲気がするコーナーがあります。
灯籠があったり、仏像があったり.....。
ミステリアスな感じが英国人は好きなのでしょうか？
これは、バリの戦いの神様でしょうか？
Many
English gardens have exotic corners.
There
are lanterns and Buddha statues.
Do British people like mysterious feelings?
Is
this the Battle God of Bali?
庭が広いので、様々なコーナー分けができ、不調和がありません。
レイアウトも上手だからですね。
This garden can be divided into various corners and
yet there is no inconsistency, because the garden is large. And also the layout is good, isn't it? |

とってもとっても素敵なお庭でした。
庭づくりはとても大変でしょうけれど、Jはそれを楽しんでしていることを感じます。
季節が違うとまた違う景色が見られるのでしょう。
今回は2回も散策できました。

It is a very very good garden.
Gardening would be very hard, but I feel that J enjoys it.
If the season is different, I will see different scenery again.
This time I was able to take a walk twice.
