切り株の上で
先日切った柿の木の切り株の上で、リスが栗を食べていました。
切り株の上に置いていたお供え用の栗なのか、
リスが持って来た栗なのかはわかりません。
リスにしてはかなり長い間止まって食べていたので、
食べ応えはあったのでしょう。

On the Stump

A squirrel was eating a sweet chestnut on the stump of 

the persimmon tree that was cut the other day.

I don't know if it's an offering chestnut on the stump 

or the chestnut was brought by the squirrel.

The squirrel stopped and, for a squirrel, ate for quite a long time, 

so I think it was quite filling.

2階のスタジオからリスを見つけました。

 From First Floor
I spotted the squirrel from my studio on the first floor.

1階から
１階へ降りてきて撮影。
いずれの写真も窓越しで撮影しました。

From the Ground Floor
I went down to the ground floor and photographed.
All the pictures were taken through the window.

この製版インクが 月のクレーター' のようだと思って
撮影しました。

'Lunar Crater'
I thought that this printing ink was like a 'Lunar Crater'',
so I photographede it.

4)  月 / Moon

A. 10月20日 / 20th of October

満月 : ハンターズムーン
この晩の月が満月：ハンターズムーン (狩猟月) と
知っていたわけではありませんでした。
屋外がとても明るいので、窓から空を見上げると
月の光がとても強く光っていました。
「あっ！今日が満月かも！」
と思い当たり撮影しました。

Full Moon : Hunter's Moon

I didn't know that this evening's moon was 

the full moon : Hunter's Moon.

 Outdoors was so bright, so I looked up at the sky

 from the window, and the moonlight was very strong.

月の色は魅惑的なオレンジ色に傾きます。

The colour of the moon tilts to a fascinating orange.

ハンターズムーンは、比較的新しい満月の名前です。

その名前はアメリカの民間伝承で伝統となり、今では、ネイティブアメリカンに由来すると言われています。

由来好きの私は、元の民間伝承を知りたいところですが、探し出せませんでした。

秋は狩猟、収穫の時期、そういった面からもハンターズムーンの名前は、10月の満月にふさわしい気がします。

Hunter's Moon is the name of a relatively new full moon.

The name became traditional in American folklore and is now said to be derived from Native Americans.

I like the thought of the origin, and I wanted to know the original folklore, but I couldn't find it.

Autumn is the time of hunting and harvesting, and I feel that the name of Hunter's Moon is suitable for the full moon in October.

B. 10月21日 / 21st of October

ほぼ満月
正確には満月ではありませんが、ほぼ満月です。

Almost Full Moon
It's not exactly a full moon, but it's almost a full moon.

夜空と月と家の光
月がとても明るいことがわかります。

Night Sky, Moon and House Lights
I could see that the moon is very bright.

肉眼ではこんな感じに見えますね。
It looks like this to the naked eye, right?

一瞬の風景
月に雲がかかり、すぐに流れてゆきます。
一瞬の風景です。

Momentary Scene
Clouds hang over the moon and they will flow immediately.
It is a momentary scene.

'一瞬の風景' が好きです。
I like 'Momentary Scenes'.



月は魅惑的な衛星です。
(月は地球の唯一の衛星)

The moon is a fascinating satellite.
(The moon is the only Earth satellite.)

1) 最初の素焼 / First Biscuit Firing

今回の個展に向けて初めての素焼を開始しました。

 I have started the first biscuit firing for this exhibition.

1040度
磁器の素焼温度は1040度。
日本ではもっと低い温度で磁器の素焼きをするようですが、
英国では1040度です。
私は陶芸 (磁器) を英国で学んだのでこの温度です。

1040 Degrees

The porcelain biscuit temperature is 1040 degrees.

In Japan, it seems that porcelain biscuit firing is

to a lower temperature, however, 

in Britain it is 1040 degrees.

 I studied ceramics (porcelain) in Britain, 

so I use this temperature.

夫Rは私の個展準備、個展開催時には協力してくれ、感謝しています。

今日 (10月18日) もエナメル使用のタイルの洗い物をしてくれました。

R's Tiles

I am is grateful to my husband R, who cooperates in preparing and holding my exhibition.

Today (18th of October), also he washed enamel from the tilesl.

作品？

Rがタイルの洗い物をしている時に偶然できた形から
ヒントを得て、'彼の作品 (？)' を作りました。

Work?
While he washed a tile, he made 'his work (?)', 
accidentally inspired by the  shape.

作品
こちらは1枚目よりも意識的に手を入れています。
私を描いたのかと思いましたが、特別モデルはいないそうです。
素敵な作品だと思います。

The Work

This is more deliberate than the first one.

I thought he drew me, but he said there is no special model.

I think it's a lovely work.

1) 雲の中の光 / Light in the Clouds

夜明けまたは日の出
日の出の時間にはなっていますが雲があって
太陽そのものは見えません。
景色としては、'夜明け' を思わせます。
(午前6時過ぎ）

Dawn or Sunrise

It's sunrise time, but there are clouds and

 I can't see the sun itself.

The scenery gives me the impression, 'This is dawn'.

(After 6 am)

ドラゴンが何匹も見え隠れしています。

Many dragons are visible and hidden.

2) 朝の鳥たち / Birds in the Mornings

シジュウカラ (四十雀) は、群れで行動する時が多いように感じます。

ですが、ここ2、3ヶ月、朝に1羽の大きめのシジュウカラをよく見ます。

群れのシジュウカラは、昼間に見ます。

Japanese Tit Alone

I feel Japanese Tits usually act in groups.

However, for the past 2 to 3 months, I often see one large tit in the morning.

Japanese Tits are seen in flocks in the daytime.

1) 庭 / Our Garden

A. 柿の木の根元 / Base of Persimmon Tree

ツワブキ
前日に、柿の木を切りました。
その根元には木屑が散っています。
心が痛みます...。
ツワブキ (石蕗 / 艶蕗)が光を受けて嬉しそうに
しているのを感じます。
それが慰めではあります。

Leopard Plant

The day before, the persimmon tree was cut.

Wood chips are scattered at the base.

My heart hurts ...

I feel that Leopard Plants (Farfugium Japonicum) are

 happy to receive the light.

That is comfort.

カラー
カラー (海芋 /カイウ)も柿の木の下にありました。
カラー は元は母の庭にありました。
日本の最初の家は、鎌倉市二階堂にあり、
そこでは母の庭よりも元気に咲いていました。
ですが現在の住まいの鎌倉山の地には合わず、毎年ひ弱な状態で
ほとんど花をつけません。
湿地性の植物なので、今の環境は適していないのかもしれません。
日当たりは好むそうです。
ですが、柿の木が切られて、日当たりはよくなっています。
なので来年は花をつけるかもしれません。

Calla Lily

Calla Lily (Zantedeschia) was also under the persimmon tree.

The Calla Lily was originally in my mother's garden.

Our first Japanese house was in Nikaido, Kamakura

where it bloomed more vigorously than in my mother's garden.

However, it does not suit the land in Kamakuraryama, 

where we currently live,

and it struggles to bloom every year, in a weak state.

Since it is a wetland plant, the current environment 

may not be suitable.

It seems to like the sun.

However, the persimmon tree has been cut 

and the sun is getting better.

So next year it may have flowers.

B. '幼稚園の生徒' / 'Nursery Students'

苗
春夏の花がほぼ終了してしまいました。
秋から冬にかけて咲いてくれるスミレの苗を購入しました。
スミレも本来なら春夏、新種改良品でしょうか？　
庭は夫R担当です。
いつ彼が鉢植えにしてくれるのかわかりませんが、
苗達は、'幼稚園の生徒' のように見えます。
顔を見上げて期待いっぱいの表情で鉢植えを
待っているように感じます。

Seedling

The spring and summer flowers are almost over.

I bought violet seedlings that blooms from autumn to winter.

Is the violet originally a new type of improved product

 in the spring and summer?

Our garden is in charge of my husband R.

I don't know when he will plant them in pots,

The seedlings look like 'Nursery Students'.

I feel that they look up at our faces and they are waiting for

being potted with a look full of expectations.

メジロ？
朝、8時半頃に撮影しました。
朝は色々な小鳥が庭にやってきます。
これはメジロかと思います。

Japanese White-eye?

I took this photograph in the morning around 8:30.

Various small birds come to our garden in the morning.

I think this is a Japanese White-eye (Warbling White-eye).

C. 空 / Sky

ヘリコプター
海上保安庁のヘリコプターだと思います。
MHスーパーピューマ332 (AS 332)または
MHスーパーピューマ225 (ユーロコプター EC 225 )?
正面の顔が見えないのが残念です。

Helicopter

I think it's a Japan Coast Guard Helicopter.

Airbus Helicopters H215  (Eurocopter AS332 Super Puma)

 or

Airbus Helicopters H225 (Eurocopter EC 225)?

It's a pity that I can't see the front face.

民間用と軍用の双方の市場を目標にした大型ヘリコプターです。
同じ型、もしくは似たような型のヘリコプターを
多くの他の団体、世界各国が持っています。

A large helicopter targeted at both the civilian and military markets.

Many other organizations and countries around the world

 have helicopters of the same or similar type.

2) 月  / Moon

日暮れ

日暮れが早くなっているのを感じます。

まだ (午後) 5時半すぎなのに、'夜' の到来を感じます。

Nightfall 

I feel that the nightfall is getting faster.

It's still past 5:30pm, but I feel the arrival of 'Night'.

クレーター
写真の月は身近に宇宙を感じさせます。
私の 'カメラごとき' で、月のクレーターまで見えるってすごい...
多くの月のクレーターにそれぞれ名前が
ついているのを知りました。

Craters

The moon in the photograph 

makes me feel the universe close to me.

It's amazing that I can see Lunar craters with only my 'camera'...

I found that many lunar craters have their own names.

本物の月
あまりにもはっきり写るので本物に感じられないかもしれませんが
本物の月なんですよ。

Real Moon
It looks so clear that it may not look real,
 but it is the real moon.

満月まであと数日です。
It's only a few days until the full moon.
