6,7月は梅雨のために、殆どの植物がほぼ枯れかかりました。
8月は、人間には暑すぎるけれど、植物はかなり回復したように感じました。

August was too hot for humans, but the plants seemed to have recovered considerably.

| 8月21日 神戸の友人Mさんから、 'シベリア朝顔'の種を2年前にいただきました。 今年、ようやく種を播くことができ、 どうなることかと見守っていました。 こうして、とてもよく成長してくれました。 21st of August Siberian Morning Glory's seeds were given by my friend M in Kobe two years ago. I could finally plant them this year and watch over what would happen. They grew up very well like this.  |

| 8月23日 'シベリア朝顔'は柄が色々あり、無地もあります。 23rd of August 'Siberian Morning Glory' has various patterns and also has a plain colour.  鉢のサポートだけでは足りなくなって、 さくらんぼの木 (桜桃 /オウトウ) のそばに鉢を置きました。 幹をサポート代わりに成長しました。  The support of the pot wasn't enough for this plant, so I put the pot near the cherry fruit tree. | 8月22日 / 22nd of August 他の植物が複数の茎をもち、複数の花を咲かせるのに、 この子は1つの茎で1つの花を懸命に咲かせます。 小さなひまわりのようだと思っていました。 実は、のちになって2,3つの茎と2,3つの花を 持つようになりました。 とても成長がゆっくりなのですが、 いつも健康的なので安心はしていました。  8月22日 / 22nd of August This plant has just one stem and just one flower, while other plants have some stems and bloom some flowers. I thought it was like a small sunflower. In fact, it later came to have a couple of stems and a couple of flowers. It's growing very slowly, but I was relieved because it was always healthy. |

| 8月18日 ガラスのボウルを使用してフラワーアレンジを試みました。 白い花は、桔梗 (キキョウ)。 ここでは使用していませんが、紫の桔梗も咲いていました。 18th of August I tried a flower arrangement using a glass bowl. The white flower is Platycodon. I didn't use it here, but purple Platycodon were also in bloom.   |

| 8月25日 ゴールデングリーンの野菜到着 25th of August Arrival of Golden Green Vegetables  大葉を撮影し忘れました。 学校の記念写真のおやすみした子の写真を 思い出しました(笑)。 I forgot to photograph the perilla : Oba. I remembered the photograph of the child who was absent on the day of the commemorative photo in the school (Laugh). |

| 8月15日 鎌倉図書館へ本を返しに行きました。 道路の花壇が綺麗だったので撮影しました。 コロナウィルス (COVID-19)の心配があるので 一人で出かけました。 15th of August I went to the Kamakura Library to return books. The flowerbed by the road was beautiful, so I took photographs. I was worried about coronavirus (COVID-19), so I went out alone.  |

| 8月16日 花火大会は中止ではないかと思っていましたが、 花火が上がっていました。 ダメダメな写真ですが、記録として、ここに載せます。 家から花火が楽しめて、私達としては喜ばしいことでした。 16th of August I thought the fireworks display would be canceled, but the fireworks were on. My photographs are very bad, though I put them here as a record. |
