A. ミヤコワスレ / Miyako-wasure

ミヤコワスレ
ミヤコワスレ (京都わすれ) は、数年前に苗を植えた後、
病気になりました。
ここ3年ほど、具合が悪そうな葉がつき、
花はほとんど咲きませんでした。
けれでも、今年は元気そうな葉がつき、
ついに花が咲きました。
昨年、病原菌を植物の中から滅菌する薬を
与えたからかもしれません。

Miyako-wasure : Miyamayomena

Miyako-wasure means 'Forgetting Kyoto'.

The Miyamayomena became ill a few years ago

after they were planted as seedlings.

For the past three years, the leaves have been sick and

the flowers have barely bloomed.

However, this year, the leaves seem to be healthy and

the flowers finally bloomed.

Maybe it was because last year I gave them a medicine

to attack the pathogens from inside the plant.

<花の名の由来>

鎌倉時代 (1185 / 1192 - 1333 ) 、

承久の乱 (ジョウキュウノラン/ 1221) に敗れた

順徳天皇 (ジュントクテンノウ / 1197 -1242 / 在位 : 1210 -1221) は、佐渡島に流されました。

その際に、佐渡に咲いていた、この花を見て心を慰め、都恋しさを

忘れたと言う伝承に由来します。

<Origin of the Japanese Flower Name>

Emperor Juntoku ( 1197 - 1242 / reign : 1210 - 1221), who was defeated in the Jōkyū War (1221) during the Kamakura Period (1185 / 1192 - 1333), was banished to Sado Island.

It is said that at that time the flower bloomed on Sado Island and comforted his heart and he forgot his missing the city of Kyoto.

B. 良い香り / Good Fragrance

ジャスミン
ジャスミンは、私達が住み始める前から
カナメモチ (レッド・ロビン) の中にありましたが、
3年ほど前から姿を見ませんでした。
それが今年、花の姿を表し、良い香りを運んでくれています。

Jasmine

Jasmine was growing up in the Japanese Photinia (Red Robin)

before we started living here, however,

we hadn't seen it for about three years.

This year, it shows the appearance of flowers and

carries a good fragrance.

2) 勢揃い / Everyone Came Together

勢揃い
いつも私が夫Rの好みを聞いてその花を彼が仕事にも
使用するテーブルに置きます。
その後家の各場所へ配置します。
この日は全ての花がテーブルに飾られていました。
それを、Rがお盆に全て載せて、
私がいる2階のスタジオへ持ってきました。
たまには私が好きな花を先に選べるようにとの彼の配慮でした。

Everyone Came Together

I always asked my husband R which flowers he would have

on the table he also uses for work.

Then I place others in each part of the house.

All the flowers were displayed on the table on this day.

R put them all on the tray and brought them to the studio

on the first floor where I am.

It was his consideration that occasionally

I should be able to choose the flowers I like first.

ドラゴン神棚
とりあえず、ドラゴン神棚に全てを配置しました。
この後、1階にも家の様々な場所にも花を運びました。

Dragon Home Shrine

For the time being, I placed everything on Dragon Home Shrine.

After this, I carried flowers to the ground floor and

various places in the house.

1) 庭 / Garden

さくらんぼを食べにきたリス。
撮影に気がついたようです。

Squirrel came to eat cherries.
He (She) seems to have noticed my camera.

気がつかない間に大きなバラが咲いていました。
A big rose was in bloom before I noticed it.

病気になってしまったか、虫の害を受けているのか、
ここまで育って嫌な兆候が見られます。

Whether it is sick or damaged by insects,
it has grown up to this point and I see some unpleasant signs.

2) 花とともに / With Flowers

1つで豪華
Even One is Gorgeous

お誕生日プレゼントのお菓子をいただきました。
ごちそうさまでした。

トイレのコーナー
今年は、紫蘭 (シラン)がたくさん咲くので、
贅沢に使用できます。

Toilet Corner
Many Bletilla Striata bloom this year,
so I can use them luxuriously.

3) ドラゴン神棚 / Dragon Home Shrine

ドラゴン神棚
今年になって2階のスタジオに、'ドラゴン神棚'を設けました。
最近、庭で摘んだ花を飾っています。

Dragon Home Shrine
This year, I set up Dragon Home Shrine
in the studio on the first floor.
Recently, I have been decorating with flowers picked in the garden.

2、3日前から、'ミニ水槽'を使い始めました。
花は毎日、少しづつ変わります。

I started using the 'Mini Aquarium' a couple of days ago.
The flowers change little by little every day.

ドローイング作品とともに
ドローイングはまだ完成していません。

4) 宇宙の滴 / Cosmic Drop

月

昨年は、頻繁に月を撮影していました。

この日、久しぶりに月を撮影し、これが今年初めての

月の撮影であることに気がつきました。

Moon

Last year, I used to photograph the moon frequently.

On this day, I photographed the moon

for the first time in a long time, and realized that

this was the first time I had taken photographs of the moon this year.

宇宙の滴
宇宙の滴のよう...と思い、
'ミニ水槽'の形に似ているな〜と思いました。

Cosmic Drop

I thought it was like a Cosmic Drop and

I thought it resembled the shape of 'Mini Aquarium'.

1) 4月21日庭の風景

Garden Views, 21st of April

オダマキ
3つのオダマキの苗を買い、2つは鉢に植え、
これだけ地植えにしました。
無事に咲いてくれたのでほっとしています。

Aquilegia
We bought three Aquilegia (Columbine) seedlings and
planted two in pots, and planted only this in the ground.
I am relieved that this bloomed safely.

'おばあちゃんのボンネット'
英語の別名が、'おばあちゃんのボンネット'と知ってから
花をよく見るようになりました。
これが一番、'おばあちゃんのボンネット' に似ています。

'Granny's Bonnet'
After finding another name in English, 'Granny's Bonnet',
I started to look at the flowers carefully.
This is the most similar to 'Granny's Bonnet' I have seen so far.

ネモフィラ
別名 : ベビーブルーアイズ
和名：ルリカラクサ (瑠璃唐草）
2つ、地植えにした苗のうち、これだけが
元気に花を咲かせています。
'ネモフィラ’よりも、'ベビーブルーアイズ' の名前が
私は好きです。

Nemophila
Also known as : Baby Blue Eyes
Japanese name : Ruri-karakusa ; Lapis Lazuli Arabesque
Of the two seedlings planted in the ground,
only this one is in full bloom.
I like the name 'Baby Blue Eyes' rather than 'Nemophila'.

たくさんの名前
ロベリア、ルリミゾカクシ(瑠璃溝隠)、
ルリチョウソウ (瑠璃蝶草）ルリチョウチョウ (瑠璃蝶々)
とたくさんの名前があります。
植えてから長い間、葉だけでしたが、最近ようやく咲きました。

Many Names

This has many names, Lobelia Erinus, Edging Lobelia,

Garden Lobelia or Trailing Lobelia.

For a long time after planting, it was only leaves,

but recently it has finally bloomed.

紫蘭
紫蘭 (シラン) が年々増えて行きます。
今年は特別元気が良く、嬉しいです。　

Bletilla Striata
Bletilla Striata is increasing year by year.
I am very happy this year because they are very energetic.

ルドベキア
植えた後に花の名前を忘れてしまいました。
花が咲いても名前を知らないままでした。
ここまで咲き、ルドベキアだと
思うようになりました。
しっかり咲いて心強いです。

Rudbeckia

I forgot the name of the flower after planting it.

Even when the flowers bloomed, I didn't know the name.

It has bloomed until now and

I have come to think that it is Rudbeckia.

This blooms well and I feel reassured.

イベリス
昨年、鉢植えから地植えに移しました。
元気に咲いてくれ、安心しました。

Iberis : Candytuft
Last year, this was moved from a pot to the ground.
I was relieved that it has bloomed well.

ウツギ
ウツギは二年前に鉢植えから地植えにしました。
昨年はその存在さえもわからなかったのですが、
今年は白い綺麗な花をさかせ、私を驚かせました。

Deutzia Crenata
Deutzia Crenata was changed from potted plant
to ground plant two years ago.

Last year I didn't even know its existence,

but this year I was surprised by the beautiful white flowers.

ペチュニア
ゆっくりゆっくり育ち、徐々に徐々に花を咲かせています。

Petunia
It grows slowly and slowly, and gradually blooms.

モミジバ・ゼラニウム
1つの鉢に2つの "モミジバ・ゼラニウム"が
植えられて窮屈そうでした。
Rが1つ1つの鉢に植え替え、小枝を補助棒にしました。

Maple Leaf Geranium

Two Maple Leaf Geranium were planted in one pot and

they seemed to be cramped.

R replanted one in each pot and used the twigs as auxiliary support.

モミジバ・ゼラニウム
こちらのモミジバ・ゼラニウムは、当初から1つの鉢に
1つ植えられていました。
葉を楽しむタイプの植物ですが、花もたくさん咲かせ、
びっくりしています。
植えた年は、1つか2つの花が咲いた程度で喜んでいました。
あの時にはこんなに花を咲かせるようになるとは
思っても見ませんでした。

Maple Leaf Geranium

This Maple Leaf Geranium has been planted in one pot

from the beginning.

Maple Leaf Geranium is a type of plant

enjoyed for the leaves,

but I'm surprised that many flowers bloom.

In the year I planted it, I was happy that one or two flowers bloomed.

At that time, I didn't expect this to bloom so much.

二番目のミモザ
1番目のミモザは、私の背丈ほどに大きく育ちましたが
突然枯れてしまいました。
好きな植物なので、再び育ています。

Second Mimosa

The first Mimosa grew up to my height,

but suddenly withered.

It's my favourite plant, so I try to grow one again.

2) 4月22日花 / Flowers, 22nd of April

A. モッコウバラ / Lady Banks' Rose

モッコウバラは、今年は、今までで一番元気に咲いています。
ようやく普通に咲いてくれたと言えるのかもしれません。

Lady Banks' Rose is in full bloom this year.
It may be said that it finally bloomed normally.

ブログにも何度もモッコウバラの写真を載せています。

many times on my blog.

B. 淑女を作る / Make Ladies

舞台の上の淑女達
今日のフラワーアレンジメントは、
舞台で淑女達が劇をしているように感じます。

Ladies on Stage
I feel that today's flower arrangements are
like ladies performing on a stage.

3) 4月23日フルーツサラダ

Fruit Salad, 23rd of April

宝探し
Rは、しばしばフルーツサラダを作ります。
最近は、私がタイトルをつけています。

Treasure Hunt
R often makes fruit salad.
Recently, I have given titles.

4) 4月25日ミニ水槽

Mini Aquarium, 25th of April

A. ミニ水槽 / Mini Aquarium

ミニ水槽登場！
この日、透明な丸い容器があることを思い出しました。
最初はハイドロカルチャーの容器でした。
残念ながらハイドロカルチャーの植物は枯れてしまいました。
空き瓶好きな私は、この容器も捨てることができませんでした。

Mini Aquarium Appears!

On this day, I remembered that

there is a transparent round container.

Originally this was a hydroculture container.

Unfortunately, the hydroculture plant had died.

As an empty bottle lover, I couldn't throw away this container either.

水の中を見ると小さくても、別世界がそこに見えます。

If I look in the water, I can see another world there,
even if it is small.

睡蓮を彷彿させます。
It is reminiscent of water lilies.

勢揃い
全てのフラワーアレンジメントを集めて撮影しました。
その後、家の各コーナーへ移します。
