アントワープ中央駅 (アントウェルペン中央駅) は、アントワープの交通の要所でありつつ、観光名所でもあります。
1905年から使用されています。
駅舎が非常に美しい！
外も中も美しい！そして、外も中も宮殿か、お城を思わせます。
大きさもりっぱで、2009年のアメリカの雑誌、'Newsweek' で、世界で4番目に大きい駅であると認められました。
2014年には、ネット雑誌の'Mashable'で、中央駅は、世界で最も美しい鉄道駅として最初の受賞場所になりました。
アントワープ留学経験者の友人、はっこちゃんも駅も、駅の中のロイヤル・カフェも勧めてくれました。
ちなみに、はっこちゃんはアントワープ王立芸術学院の学生でした。

Antwerp Central (Antwerpen-Centraal) Railway Station is a major point of transport in Antwerp, it is also a tourist attraction.

The Station building is very beautiful!
Outside and inside are beautiful! And they both give me the impression that it is a palace or a castle.
The size is huge and it was recognized as the fourth largest station in the world by the American magazine 'Newsweek' in 2009.
In 2014, in the 'Mashable' of the Internet magazine, Central Station became the first station to be awarded as the world's most beautiful railway station.
My friend, Hakko, who had been a student in Antwerp, recommended the Royal Cafe in the station.
By the way, Hakko was a student in the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp.

ドームを備えた石造りの建物は、ベルギーの建築家、Louis Delacenserie (1838–1909)によって設計されました。
第二次世界大戦中 (1939 -1945)に建物は攻撃されましたが、2009年にほとんどが修復されました。
From 1895 to 1905, the station building was completed by rebuilding the first wooden terminal of the Brussels-Mechelen-Antwerp Railway.
A stone building with a dome was designed by Louis Delacenserie (1838–1909).

その後市内でも兵士を見ました。
ベルギー政府はベルギー国内全土におけるテロ警戒レベルを最高に引き上げているそうです。
テロはなくならないかもしれない。
けれでも、テロのない世界になるようにと願わずにはいられません。

Belgium all the way to the highest level.
Terrorism
may not go away.
But
I cannot help hoping the world will be without terrorism.

駅の東側には世界でもっとも古い動物園があります。
私達は門を見物して中にははいりませんでした。

We looked at the gate, though we did not enter.
