太宰府天満宮 (ダザイフ テンマン グウ) が最後の観光地です。

太宰府天満宮は、福岡県太宰府市にある神社で、919年に創建されています。
菅原道真 (スガワラミチザネ / 845 - 903) を祭神として祀る天満宮の一つ。

Tenman-gū was our last sight on this trip.

Dazaifu
Tenman-gū is
a Shinto shrine in Dazaifu, Fukuoka
Prefecture and it was established in 919.
It is built over the grave of Sugawara no Michizane (845 - 903) and is one of the main shrines dedicated to Tenjin, the deified form of Michizane.
The story of the shrine and Michizane is well-known in Japan.

| 御牛様 道真公が丑年生まれです。この牛の頭をなでると知恵が授かるという信仰があり、 御牛様の頭(鼻？）はぴかぴか。 この写真の御牛様の鼻が切れているのは、この木が飛梅だと勘違いして 私が撮影したからです(笑)。 Ox Statue Michizane was born in Chinese year of the Ox in 845. The belief is if you stroke you could get wisdom, so the statue's head or nose glitters. In this photograph, unfortunately, the nose of the Statue is missing, because I misunderstood that this tree was Tobiume, when I photographed here. (laugh) |

| 麒麟 (キリン) 像 トーマス・ブレーク・グラバー (1838 -1911) がこの麒麟像をとても気に入っていて、なんども譲って欲しいと打診していたらしいです。 グラバー は長崎のグラバー邸のグラバーで、麒麟ビール創設に貢献した人です。創設者とも言われます。 Kirin Statue : Kirin is a fantasy creature. I heard that Thomas Blake Glover (1838 -1911) loved this Kirin and that he asked 'Please let me have this' many times. This Glover is Nagasaki's Glover Garden's Glover, and he helped establish Kirin Beer.People now say he was founder of Kirin beer. |

| 梅 ライトの柄はもちろん、梅です。 神紋 (シンモン) は、梅紋 (ウメモン)ですものね。 下記公式サイトより
"東風吹かば
匂ひおこせよ梅の花
あるじなしとて春をわするな
春風が吹いたら、香りをその風に託して大宰府まで送り届けてくれ、梅の花よ。
主人である私がいないからといって、春を忘れてはならないぞ。"
901年、大宰権帥 (ダザイノゴンノソチ)に左遷され、
家を発つ時の歌として伝承されています。

境内現存最古の建物で、国の重要文化財。
1458年建造。

is the oldest extant building in the area and

an Important Cultural Property. It was built in 1458.
海の神様、綿津見 (わたつみ) 三神が祀られています。
三神は、ソコツワタツミ（底津綿津見神）
ナカツワタツミ（中津綿津見神）
ウワツワタツミ（上津綿津見神）
It is to deify Watatusmi : Three Sea Gods.

| 皇后の梅 大正天皇后 (1884 - 1951) が葉山御用邸から持参し、植樹しました。 Empress's Ume Empress Teimei (1884 - 1951) brought this from Hayama Imperial Villa and she planted it. |

| 飛梅
『'東風吹かば 匂ひおこせよ梅の花
あるじなしとて春をわするな'
道真公を慕って一夜で飛んできたと伝えられる由縁の梅の木。』私はこの言い伝えが大好きで、この飛梅をずっと見たいと思っていました。実現できて嬉しい。  Tobiume : Flying Apricot Tradition has it , this Japanese Apricot followed MIchizane and that it flew here from his home garden. I do like the story so I had wanted to look at this for a long time. I was very glad I could make it here. |
