ヘレフォード大聖堂 / Hereford Cathedral から、中心街 / High Town へ向かう通りが、"教会通り/ Church Street"です。
"教会通り" は、800年頃から存在し、2つの部分に分かれています。
大聖堂から東通り/ East Street の部分と東通りから中心街に向かう路地があります。

A part is from the Cathedral to East Street, and a lane which leads from East Street through into High Town.

17世紀初期の宿屋
市内で最も古い宿屋の1つ。 "駅馬車によって毎週届けられたロンドンの手紙は、 ここで毎年市議会に任命された議長によって読まれました。" いつの時代も情報を早く得る者が力を持つ、もしくは 力を持つ者が早く情報を得るのです。

この路地は、13世紀には "カボヘロン / Cabochelone" または
"キャベツ小道 / Cabbage Lane” と呼ばれていました。
"キャベツ小道 / Cabbage Lane” と呼ばれていました。
そう呼ばれた訳はキャベツがこの道で販売されていたからのようです。
(理由は下の英文に書かれていますが、私にはよく理解できませんでした......
キャベツが今と違って、珍しく高価な野菜で裕福層、例えば高位の聖職者しか食べられなかった時代で、その野菜がこの小道で売られていたので、その名前がついたということらしいです）

"キャベツ小道"は、15世紀には、2つの部分が別々に
"広いキャベツ小道 / Brode Cabeige Lane" と
"狭いキャベツ小道 / Narowe Cabeige" Lane"として
区別され、18世紀に、格上げ(高級化)され、"Capuchin Lane" となりました。

19世紀になって、この路地も "教会通り" に含まれました。

In the 15th century the two parts were separately identified as "Brode Cabeige Lane" and "Narowe Cabeige Lane", which was gentrified in the 18th century to "Capuchin Lane".
In the 19th century, both sections became "Church Street".

The Black and White House Museum : ★
私達がここにきた時にはすでに閉まっていました。
1929年からジャコビアン時代 (1603 - 1625)
の日常生活が見られる博物館になりました。
1603年といえば、日本では江戸時代 (1603 - 1868) が始まった頃ですね。
When we came here it was already closed.
It has been a museum since 1929,
where you can see the daily life of the Jacobian era (1603 - 1625).
Speaking of 1603, it was around the beginning of
the Edo period (1603 -1868) in Japan.
閉まっていても、ここはきっと特別な建物であると思わせる
装飾が見られます。
Even if it's closed, you'll find decorations that make it a special building. 
四葉のクローバーの鋲打ち
このタイプの建物で、四葉のクローバーの鋲打ちを初めて見ました。
ちょっとチグハグな印象です。
お城のような威圧感あるデザインではなく、 優しい印象にしたかったのだとは理解します。
Four-leaf Clover Tacking
For the first time I saw a four-leaf clover stud in this type of building.
My impression it's a bit wrong.
I understand that they wanted a gentle impression so that it's not an intimidating design, like a castle. 
17世紀のハーフ・ティンバーの建物
通常、ハーフティンバー(木骨造 / 半木骨造)の家は好きですが、
これはちょっと苦手の部類かな〜？
魅力的は魅力的なのですが、たとえ開いていたとしても、
中へ入ってみようとは思いませんでした。
“Sara Jane's Florist”の建物(このセクションの一番下の写真)には
この感情は抱かなかったのに、不思議です。
きっと色々すでに見ていたので、私がいっぱいいっぱいだったのでしょう。
17th Century Timber-framed Building
I usually like half-timbered houses, but I might a little dislike this type of building?
It is charming or attractive, but I didn't want to go inside, even if it had been open.
It is strange that I didn't have this feeling for
“Sara Jane's Florist” building (bottom photograph in this section).
I'm sure I was full because I had already seen many things.

博物館の前に、大きな牛の彫像があり、ちょっとびっくりします。
ヘレフォードの商業的な中心地 (Hight Town) に牛がなぜ？
日本にもいます。
また、博物館の建物は以前は肉屋さんだったそうです....なるほどね〜...。

There is a big cow statue in front of the museum, which is a bit surprising.
Why a cow in Hereford's commercial centre : High Town?
Later I found out that Hereford cattle have been famous for a long time, and Hereford Cattle are now found all over the world.
Hereford cattle are in Japan, too.
Also, the museum building used to be a butcher before.... indeed...

1817年に、アメリカへ輸出され、アメリカ、カナダへと広がり、
今日では世界中にヘレフォード種は広がっています。
1878年にはヴィクトリア女王 (1819 -1901 / 在位1837 - 1901) の庇護のもと、
ヘレフォード牛肉協会が創設されました。
200年以上の努力の結果、世界で最も知られる、
赤い体(コート)に白い体のヘレフォード種 (下に写真)に
なりました。
彫像の顔は穏やかで安心します。

程よい混み具合で、ストレスにもならず、人々のオーラ(?/ 雰囲気？)が、ギラギラもせず、暗くもなく、リラックスしていて良かったです。
ヘルフォードの街に好意を持ちました。
It was good that it was moderately crowded, not stressful, and the auras? (atmosphere?) of the people were not harsh, not dark, and and were relaxed.
I had a good will for the city of Hereford.
C.オールセンツ教会 / All Saints Church
元々のオールセインツ教会は、1200年頃にはこの場所にあったと言われています。新しい教会は1300年に建てられ、1990年代に大規模な修理と修復が行われました。

The new church was completed in 1300.
Massive repairs and restorations took place in the 1990s.
All Saints re-opened in July 1997 and the building is a church, a community centre and a cafe.

The Green Dragon Hotel : ★
ドラゴン(下の写真)を見つけて撮影した建物です。
"グリーン・ドラゴン・ホテル"でした。
まんまの名前で、ちょっと笑う...
以前は、正面に緑で “THE GREEN DRAGON”と
書かれていたようですが、今は消えています。
彼らもちょっと考えたのでしょう。
This is the building where I found a dragon (below) and photographed it.
It is the "Green Dragon Hotel".
I laugh a little with the straight name …
It used to be written "THE GREEN DRAGON" with green colour
on front, but it is gone now.
They may have thought for a moment.

カソリック教会です。
設計はチャールズ・デイ(? - ?)
新古典主義建築の教会は1839年に建てられ、 1952年、イギリス指定建造物のグレードII *に指定されました。 ちなみに、 ヘレフォード大聖堂は、聖公会 (英国聖公会 / イングランド国教会)です。 St Francis Xavier Church : ★ This is a Catholic church. The neoclassical-style church was built in 1839
and was designated a Grade II listed building in1952.

Incidentally, Hereford Cathedral is the Anglican Diocese of Hereford.
The colour scheme of the building and the door caught my eye.
I didn't think it was the Catholic church.
