私もRも初めての沖縄旅行でした。

沖縄本島には行かず、石垣島、西表島、竹富島、由布島を巡る旅。

天気にはさほど恵まれはしませんでしたが、山、洞窟、海、川、ジャングル...と楽しめ、刺激ある内容で満足しています。

ありがとう、沖縄の島々！

お世話になった皆さんも、ありがとうございました！

This was first Okinawa trip for I and R.

We did not go to Okinawa Island, we travelled around Ishigaki Island, Iriomote Island, Taketomi Island and Yubu Island.

Although we did not have ideal weather, we enjoyed mountains, caves, sea, river, jungle ... and I am satisfied with the stimulating contents.

Thank you, the islands of Okinawa!

1) 県道215号線 / Prefectural Road No. 215

ジャングルホテル・パイヌマヤを出発し、県道215号線 を大原港 (正式名は仲間港) へ向けて走ります。

おそらく、私の人生で、西表島 (イリオモテジマ)を訪れるのは、これが最後かなと思い、できるだけ撮影しました。

We left the Jungle Hotel・Painumaya and drove on the Prefectural Road No. 215 toward Ōhara Port (Official name is Nakama Port).

I thought that probably would be the last time I visit Iriomote Island in my life, so I took as many photographs as possible.

石垣島？ / Ishigaki Island?

ウ離島 
ウ離島 (ウバナリジマ) は、無人島です。
地元では、青島 (アオシマ /アウジマ)と呼ばれます。

Ubanari Island 
Ubanari Island  is a deserted island.
Local people call it "Ao Shima" or "Aujima".

マングローブ / Mangrove
マングローブ ....ヤエヤマヒルギ : (八重山漂木 / ★)でしょうか？

さとうきび畑
石垣島のさとうきびは、すべて精製された砂糖になりますが、
西表島のさとうきびは黒糖になります。
'さとうきび畑'の歌(★)があります。
美しくも悲しい歌です。

Sugarcane Field
Sugarcane in Ishigaki Island all becomes refined sugar, 
but sugarcane in Iriomote Island becomes brown sugar.
There is a song : Sugarcane Field (★) in Japan.
The song is beautiful and sad.



ホテルのお店でいくつか買いました。
I had bought some brown sugar in the hotel shop.

鋼製橋
鋼製橋は、仲間川に掛かる橋で、1991年竣工。

Steel Bridge
The Steel Bridge is over the Nakagawa River, completed in 1991.


橋の四隅の欄干上には、イリオモテヤマネコの彫像があります。

There are statues of Iriomote cat

プライベートな船？ / Private Boat?

石垣島 / Ishigaki Island

クルーズ客船

クルーズ客船、ノルウェージャン・ジュエル/ Norwegian Jewel。
下記、Wikiより。

"ノルウェージャン・ジュエル級（ジュエル・クラス）の1番船で、

2005年8月4日、ドイツのマイヤー・ヴェルフトで竣工。

船価は3億9千万ドル。

 8月10日の地中海クルーズでデビューし、続いてバルト海クルーズ、

アメリカ東海岸クルーズ等を行った後、
11月3日にマイアミで行われた命名式にて、

メラニア・トランプ（実業家ドナルド・トランプの妻）によって命名された。 

その後同型の2、3番船が2006年、4番船が2007年に建造された。"

Cruise Ship

This cruise ship is Norwegian Jewel.
According to Wikipedia about this,

"She is the lead vessel of NCL's Jewel class cruise ships
and entered service in 2005.

She was constructed at Meyer Werft Shipyard in Papenburg, Germany 

and was christened on November 3, 2005 at an official ceremony

 at the Port of Miami. 

Her godmother is Melania Trump, spouse of businessman 

and U.S. President, Donald Trump."

ノルウェージャン・クルーズ・ライン/ Norwegian Cruise Line 
が運営するボート。
おそらく、クルーズ船と石垣港との間を行き来して、
クルーズ船の乗客の送迎をしているのです。

The boat is managed by Norwegian Cruise Line.
Probably it is going to and fro between the cruise ship and Ishigaki Port, 
and this is a pick up boat for passengers of  the Cruise Ship.

3) 新石垣空港へ / Towards New Ishigaki  Airport
羽田空港から石垣島へ到着した時は、石垣空港と思っていましたが、実際は
新石垣空港でした。

2013年に開港、愛称は「南ぬ島 石垣空港」(パイヌマシマ イシガキクウコウ)です。

石垣空港は、滑走路の長さは1,500 mと短く、大型機の発着に支障を来していたため、
小型機で補足していました。

小型機は、燃料が十分に搭載できず、途中で燃料補給のために宮古空港や那覇空港を経由しなければなりませんでした。

新空港の候補地は二転三転しつつ、現在の位置に建設されました。

新空港の滑走路は、2,000 mになり、大型機、中型ジェット旅客機も離着陸可能となり、首都圏への直行便も運航可能になりました。

それゆえに、首都圏までの飛行時間は約1時間近く短縮されました。



Towards New Ishigaki  Airport
When we arrived on Ishigaki Island from Haneda Airport, I thought it was Ishigaki Airport, in fact it was New Ishigaki Airport.

New Ishigaki  Airport opened in 2013, its nickname is  Painushima Ishigaki Airport (Painushima Ishigaki Kūkō : "Southern Island Ishigaki Airport").

The length of Ishigaki Airport runway was only 1,500 m, which hindered the arrival and departure of large aeroplane.

The small aeroplanes which could land could not carry enough fuel to reach the Japanese mainland and so had to refuel in Miyako Airport or Naha Airport on the way.

The New Airport was constructed in the third proposed location after various struggles.

The new runway is 2,000m long, making it possible for large and mid-size aeroplanes to land and take off, thus direct flights can operate to the metropolitan area, reducing flight times by nearly one hour.

石垣牛

ナイトツアーのガイドさんから聞いた話では、
牛の味は、仔牛の頃にほぼ決まるそうで。

八重山諸島の仔牛は、日本各地へ出荷されており、
国産有名ブランド牛であっても八重山諸島生まれなのだと言うことでした。

2000年の沖縄サミットの晩餐会で出されて以後、ブランド牛肉として、

知名度があがり、"石垣牛 (イシガキギュウ/ イシガキウシ)" 
として出荷されています。

Ishigaki Cow or Ishigaki Beef 

I heard from the guide of the night tour that

the taste of beef is mostly determined when they are calves

and calves from the Yaeyama Islands are shipped all over Japan,

even domestically produced famous brands : Wagyu brands,

are from calves born in the Yaeyama Islands.

Since being served in a dinner party in the 26th G8 Summit 
in Okinawa Prefecture, 2000,
as a brand of beef, its name has become well known 

and it is shipped as "Ishigaki Beef".

新石垣空港 / New Ishigaki Airport
