丸亀市猪熊弦一郎現代美術館 1991年開館 私のブログ内のMIMOCAについてのセクションは複数あります。 前回の 'B. 建物 / Building' では、主に屋外を、 今回のセクションでは、屋内を扱っています。 ですが、これらは密接に関わっているので、重複しています。 Marugame Genichiro-Inokuma Museum of Contemporary Art Opened in 1991 Its official name is and its nickname is MIMOCA (HP: ★). There are a few sections about MIMOCA in my blog. The previous section, 'B. 建物 / Building', mainly covered outdoor areas, while this section focuses on inside areas. However, since these sections are closely related, there is some overlap.  |

| MIMOCA 1991年竣工 設計 : 谷口吉生 (タニグチヨシオ/ 1937 - 2024) 谷口氏は、MIMOCAの建築が認められ、結果的にニューヨーク近代美術館 : MoMA の 新館の建築を任されました。 私は、MoMAの新館を実際に見てはいませんがネット上の画像 から、MoMA新館は、MIMOCAの雰囲気を纏っているように 感じられます。 MIMOCA Completed in 1991 Design : Yoshio Taniguchi (1937 - 2024) Taniguchi's work on MIMOCA was well-received, and he was eventually commissioned to design the new MoMA building. I haven't actually seen the new MoMA : ★ building, although from the images I've seen on the internet, it seems to have the same atmosphere as MIMOCA. |

A. 猪熊氏とやなせ氏 / Inokuma and Yanase
1950年、猪熊源一郎は、三越百貨店の包装紙："華ひらく" をデザインしました。
当初、そのデザインは、クリスマスプレゼント用でしたが、翌年より、今もって(2025年現在; 追記2025年10月)、常時が今もって使用され続けています。
2019年には、グッドデザイン・ロングライフ賞を得ています。
当時、三越宣伝部の写真であった、やなせ たかし (1919 - 2013) が、猪熊氏に包装紙のデザインを依頼しました。
また、やなせ氏によって、包装紙のデザインに、'mitsukoshi'の筆記体が加えられました。
現在では、やなせ氏は、デザイナーというよりも、アンパンマンの創作者(原作者)として、より有名ですね。
私は、猪熊氏とやなせ氏に接点があったことに驚きました。
なぜなら、彼らのセンスがとても違うように感じていたからです。

Inokuma and Yanase
In 1950, Genichiro Inokuma designed the "Hana Hiraku" wrapping paper for Mitsukoshi Department Store.
("Hana Hiraku" means Flowers Open or Flowers Blossom in Japanese)
Originally, the design was intended for Christmas gifts, but the following year it was adopted and continues to be used regularly to this day (as of 2025 ; updated October 2025).
In 2019, it received the Good Design Long Life Award in Japan.
At the time, Takashi Yanase (1919 - 2013), who was a graphic designer in the Mitsukoshi advertising department, asked Inokuma to design the wrapping paper.
Yanase also added the cursive writing of 'mitsukoshi' to the wrapping paper design.
Today, Yanase is better known as the creator (original author) of Anpanman rather than as a designer.
I was surprised to learn that Inokuma and Yanase had a connection.
Because I feel their tastes were very different.

B. 2つの石 / Two Stones
「波にも負けずに頑固で強く」
「自然の作る造形の美しさ」
をテーマにしようと考えたことが始まりです。"
According to Mitsukoshi website about the paper,
(translated by me)
"While Inokuma went for stroll around Cape Inubō in Chōshi, Chiba Prefecture, Japan, he saw stones being washed by the waves on the beach and came up with the idea of creating a theme based on
'stubborn and strong stones that stand the test of time'
and
'the beauty of natural formations.'"

Now, the two stones remind me of Inokuma and Yanase.
