6番ホームに、"5番のりば・La Malle de Bois (ラ・マル・ド・ボァ)"の案内表示を見つけました。
6番線は、'マリンライナー乗り場、5番線は、La Malle de Bois 乗り場でした。
6番線の先に5番線があり、同じホームに2つの乗り場があるのを知りました。
' La Malle de Bois' は、フランス語、木製の旅行鞄 ; スーツケースよりも大型、箱型のカバン という意味です。

案内板 案内板の枠は、旅行鞄(トランク)を思わせるデザインです。 カバンにつけるタグのデザインも入っています。 私はこれを最初、昔の厚手の切符かと思いましたが、 穴を思わせるドットを見つけて、タグだと思い直しました。 Signpost The frame of the signpost is designed to resemble a trunk. It also includes a design for a luggage label to attach to a bag. At first, I thought this was an old style, thick ticket, but then I noticed the dot that resembled a hole and changed my mind about it being the luggage label.  |
La Malle de Bois
We arrived at Okayama Station by Shinkansen at 10:47, and headed for the Marine Liner 25' departing from local line platform 6 at 11:12.
On platform 6, I found a sign for "Platform 5, La Malle de Bois".
Platform 6 was the Marine Liner platform, and platform 5 was the La Malle de Bois platform.
I found out that just beyond platform 6 is platform 5, meaning there are two stopping points on the same platform.
'La Malle de Bois' is French and means a wooden trunk ; a box-shaped bag larger than a suitcase.

高松市を瀬戸大橋線で結んでいます。
最高速度は時速130km（81マイル）で、所要時間は約52～63分です。
マリンライナー 25号には、指定席と自由席があります。
指定席は2階建て車両になっており、2階がグリーン席になります。
私達は、2階がグリーン席を鎌倉駅のみどりの窓口で予約し、岡山駅で乗車しました。

Marine Liner
The Marine Liner is a rapid train operated by JR West and JR Shikoku that connects Okayama City, the capital of Okayama Prefecture, with Takamatsu City, the capital of Kagawa Prefecture, on the Seto Ōhashi Line.
The maximum speed is 130km (81 miles) per hour, and the journey takes approximately 52 to 63 minutes.
The Marine Liner No. 25 has both reserved and unreserved seats.
The reserved seats are in two-storey cars, with the top floor being green seating.
We reserved green seats on the top floor at the Midori no Madoguchi counter at Kamakura Station and boarded the train at Okayama Station.

| マリンライナー・指定席車 マリンライナーは、223系電車 と 5000系電車があります。 多少違いがあるようですが、素人の私ではよくわかりません。 この車両は、2004年にブルーリボン賞、 グッドデザイン賞を得ています。 Marine Liner - Reserved Seat Carriage The Marine Liner has the 223 series trains and the 5000 series trains. There seem to be some differences, but as an amateur I don't really understand them. | 2階グリーン席 座席表 : ★ 私達は、結婚10周年記念旅行なので、 この席で良かったと思います。 ですが、私達が地元民でこの路線を通常使用するなら、 自由席で十分かと思いました。 後の写真や動画でわかりますが、瀬戸大橋を渡るときの景色は、 斜材 (シャザイ)によって遮られ、 思ったよりも景色が楽しめません。 Top Floor Green Seats Seat Map : ★ This was our 10th wedding anniversary trip, so we were happy with our seats. we had expected.However, if we are locals and regularly use this route, I thought unreserved seats would be sufficient. 後に知ったことですが、私達が乗った車両には、1階運転席うしろの 'パノラマシート' 4席もありました。
グルーン席とパノラマシートは、同じ料金です。
パノラマシートは、前方と横の景色が楽しめるので、お得かもしれません。

Later I found out that our carriage also had four 'Panorama Seats' behind the driver's seat on the ground floor.
The green seats and 'Panorama Seats' cost the same price.
The 'Panorama Seats' might be a better deal, as you can enjoy the view ahead as well as to the sides.

| 分岐駅 : 茶屋町駅 マリンライナーは、茶屋町駅で、宇野線と別れ、 "瀬戸大橋線 (セトオオハシセン)" をすすみます。 "瀬戸大橋線" は、宇野線・予讃線 (ヨサンセン) の一部を合わせた 岡山駅 - 高松駅間の愛称です。 Branch Station : Chayamachi Station At Chayamachi Station, the Marine Liner separates from the Uno Line and continues on the "Seto Ōhashi Line". We took a local train and got off at Sakaide Station to visit the 'Kagawa Prefectural Higashiyama Kaii Setouchi Museum of Art' on 8th of February (I will post about it in later section).

Great Seto Bridge
The Great Seto Bridge (Seto Ōhashi) , which spans the Seto Inland Sea, was fully opened in 1988, connecting Honshu (main island of Japan) and Shikoku by road for the first time.
According to Japanese Wiki about the Bridge, (translated by me)
"The Great Seto Bridge is a collective name for several bridges, but when considered as a whole, it is the longest combined road and railway bridge in the world, and has been recognized by the Guinness World Records (2015) as the 'longest combined road and railway bridge in the world.'"

C. 瀬戸大橋からの景色
Views From Great Seto Bridge
瀬戸内海の景色を楽しむなら、橋のトップを走る道路からの方が、電車および、マリンライナーよりも容易のではないかというのが、正直な感想です。
観光バスがあるなら、そちらの方が良いのかもしれません。
Views From Great Seto Bridge
My honest opinion is that if you want to enjoy the views of the Seto Inland Sea, it is easier to do so from the road that runs along the top of the bridge than from the train or Marine Liner.
If there is a tour bus, that might be a better option.
私達の席は、進行方向の右側でしたが、車内は空いていたので、右側も左側も自由に撮影できました。
Our seats were on the right side of the train, but our train was almost empty, so we were free to take photographs or videos on either side.

私の'瀬戸内海'に対するイメージは、穏やかな気候で、自然豊かな場所でした。
瀬戸大橋からの景色の一部は、工業地帯でした。
My image of the Seto Inland Sea was a place with a mild climate and abundant nature.
Part of the view from the Great Seto Bridge is of an industrial area.
