1) かさぎ画廊  / Gallery Kasagi

ポストに、かさぎ画廊主催の小林真理江展のチラシが入っていました。

地図を見ると鎌倉市内で、我が家からも近いことがわかりました。

馴染みがあまりない地域ですが、コロナ禍で出かけるには、比較的安全な場所に思いました。

そして何より、小林真理江さんの絵を見てみたいと思いました。

50年近くここで画廊を開いていらっしゃるのに
その存在を初めて知りました。

The gallery has been open here for nearly 50 years,
but at this time I first knew of its existence.

スペイン風な建物に感じます。
I feel that it is a Spanish-style building.

Gallery Kasagi

Our letterbox contained a leaflet for the Marie Kobayashi Exhibition sponsored by Kasagi Gallery.

Looking at the map, I found that it was close to my house in Kamakura.

It's an unfamiliar area, but I thought it was a relatively safe place to go out in the corona pandemic.

And above all, I wanted to see Marie Kobayashi's painting.

 The nearest Station is Enoshima Railway Hase Station.

 It's about 5 minutes walk from the station.

窓ガラス下で、この子達が出迎えています。
入る前に厄払いしてくれそうな気がします。

These are welcoming us under the window glass.
I feel they seem to exorcize for us before I enter.

スタッフの方が女性、男性一人づついらっしゃいました。

お二人とも非常に人当たりがよく、親切でした。

Rが蚊取り線香の香りをタバコの臭いと勘違いして、画廊に入ることができませんでした。(Rは蚊取り線香の香りも苦手です）

それと伝えると、冷房してあった室内のドアを開けて、彼のために換気してくださいました。

There were one woman staff and one male staff.

Both of them were very friendly and kind.

R couldn't enter the gallery because he misunderstood the scent of Mosquito coils as the smell of cigarettes. (R is not good at mosquito coil scent, too.)

When I told them that, they opened the doors in the air-conditioned room and ventilated for him.

Thank you very much.

十二支の動物が描かれています。
私はこの作品群が好きです。
エキゾチックな雰囲気が良いです。

The animals of the Twelve Earthly Branches 
are painted.
I like this group of works.
The exotic atmosphere is good.

撮影の許可は得ています。

I have permission to photograph.

私の好きな龍・ドラゴンをピンポイントで
撮影しました。
このドラゴンは色っぽいですね。

I took a pinpoint photograph of my favourite dragon.
This dragon is sexy.

巳年のRのために撮影。

小林さんは、ニキ・ド・サンファル (1930 - 2002)
が好きなのではないかと思います。
チラシを見てもそう感じました。
私もニキ・ド・サンファルが好きです。

I think Kobayashi likes Niki de Saint Phalle (1930 - 2002).
I felt that way when I saw the leaflet.
I also like Niki de Saint Phalle.

これはまさに、このアーティストさんが、
ニキ・ド・サンファルが好きな証拠品!

This is exactly the proof that
this artist likes Niki de Saint Phalle!

ニキ・ド・サンファルより、ずっと健康的な世界です。
ニキは魂の側をずっとむいていますが
小林さんの世界は、物語やユーモアや遊び心も含まれています。

It's a much healthier world than Niki de Saint Phalle.
Niki was always on the side of the soul.
Kobayashi's world also includes stories, humour and playfulness.

画廊には茶室のような部屋もあり、
小林さんは大作をここに展示していました。
右の大作、素敵です。

There is also a room like a tea room : Chashitsu in the gallery,
 and Kobayashi exhibited her big works here.
Chashitsu, in Japanese tradition, is an architectural space
designed to be used for tea ceremony.
The big painting on the right is lovely.

小林さんには会えず、残念でした。

素敵な個展でした。

It was a pity that we couldn't see Kobayashi.

This was a lovely Exhibition.

3) 裏庭 / Back Garden

画廊には裏庭があり、自由に入れます。
The gallery has a back garden where we can enter freely.

画廊の正面からの建物から想像しづらい雰囲気の裏庭です。

ここは、色々な世界が混沌としている場所です。

扱っている作品や作家さんも混沌とした世界を追求しているのかもしれません。

面白い空間だと感じました。

左下は仏像？または大仏？

Is the lower left Buddha statue?
Or the Great Buddha?

It is a back garden with an atmosphere that is hard to imagine from looking at the building from the front of the gallery.

This is a place where various worlds are chaotic.

The works and artists they are dealing with may also be pursuing a chaotic world.

I felt it was an interesting space.

ししおどし (鹿威し) らしきものがあります。
この時は音はしていませんでした。

There is something that seems to be Shishi-odoshi.
There was no sound at this time.

小さな石の彫刻がたくさんあります。
There are many small stone statues.

縁側があります！
夏みかん (右上) もあります！

There is an Engawa which  is an edging strip of
non-tatami-matted flooring,
usually wood or bamboo.
There is also Natsumikan: Citrus Natsudaidai (upper right)!

ドア・ストッパーだと思います。
I think it's a door stopper.
