| 5月1日 他の花達が咲き始めた頃、複数の小さな葉だけだった ペチュニア が咲き始めました。 このペチュニアは昨年の春にコープさんから買いました。 こんなに元気になってくれてホッとしています。 1st of May When the other flowers started to bloom, there were only a few small leaves Petunias have begun to bloom. | 5月2日 さくらんぼができ始めました。 赤くなる前にリスや鳥に食べられてしまいます。 でも食べてる彼らを見るのは面白いです。 2nd of May The cherries have begun to form. They will be eaten by squirrels and birds before they turn red. | モッコウバラ（木香茨、木香薔薇) を垣根のように しようとしていますが、なかなか成長してくれません。 他の場所で大きく立派になっているモッコウバラを見るたびに、 うらやましく思います。  I'm trying to make Lady Banks' Rose (Rosa Banksiae) like a fence, but it doesn't grow easily. Every time I see Lady Banks' rose, which is big and magnificent elsewhere, I envy them. |

| 5月7日 このヤツデは、知らないうちにここにいて、 知らないうちにグングン大きくなりました。 天狗のうちわのようです。 ヤツデはこれだけでなく、我が家の周囲に複数存在しています。 Rがあまり好きな植物ではないので、 好き放題に成長させてはいません。 これも幾分成長を抑えています。 7th of May This Japanese Aralia is here without us knowing of it, and it grew up well before we knew it. It's like Tengu's uchiwa : Japanese Monster's fan. (Tengu are a type of legendary creature found in Japanese folk religion.) Not only this one, there are a few Japanese Aralia around our house. R doesn't like so much, so he hasn't let them grow as much as they want. This is also somewhat restraining growth. |

| コジュケイのカップルを発見！ 毎年、コジュケイのカップルや家族を見ます。 きっと近くに寝ぐらがあるのですね。 Spotted a couple of Chinese Bamboo Partridges! Every year, I see a couple and family of Chinese Bamboo Partridges!. I'm sure there is a nest nearby.    寝ぐら方面へ帰って行きます。 He goes back to the sleeping area. |

| 翌日もコジュケイが来ました。 見つけた時は、ガーデン用の大きなハサミの先にいて ケガをしないか、こちらが心配になりました。 The next day, the bamboo partridge came again. When I found it, it was by the tip of a large pair of scissors for the garden, and I was worried that it might get hurt.  後ろを心配しています。 この時点で私はこの鳥がオス(夫)だと確信しました。 どうやら奥さんがやってこないようです。 He worried about the back. At this point I was convinced that this bird was a male (husband). Apparently his wife isn't coming. |
奥さんがやってこないので、彼はデッキの端まで迎えに行きました。
なかなか彼女はやってきません。
デッキの上を心配そうに、行ったり来たりする旦那さんの様子が痛々しくて胸が詰まります。
His wife didn't come, so he would pick her up at the end of the deck.
It's hard for her to come.
He worried about the top of the deck, and the appearance of the husband coming and going made me feel painful and heart-wrenching.

二羽が揃った場面を撮影したかったのですが、動きが早くてできませんでした。

| 5月3日 お隣のKさんの庭 Kさんの花木は、庭全体のレイアウトを考慮して、 長年育てられています。 1つ1つの植物がしっかりとしていて立派です。 私達は植物を行き当たりばったりで育てているので明らかに 彼女の植物とは、格の差があります。 3rd of May K san's Garden, Next-door K san's flowers and trees have been cultivated for many years considering the layout of her entire garden. Each plant is solid and splendid. Obviously there is a difference from her plants to ours, as we grow our plants randomly.  美しいアヤメ 花に網目模様があるのは、'アヤメ'と聞きました。 Beautiful Iris Sanguinea : Ayame I heard that the flowers have a mesh pattern (veins) ,'Iris Sanguinea'.  |
