2019年4月の個展に向けて、焼成をはじめました。
I started firings for my exhibition in April 2019

素焼 / Bisque Firing |
磁器なので、いかに薄く作るかということをトライしてきましたが、今回はぽってり感を出そうと思い、厚めに作っています。
Because
it is porcelain, I have usually tried to make them thin, but this time I'm
making them thicker, thinking that I want to give them a plump feeling.

素焼
私は自分のマークをお皿の下に、色のスリップ (下絵の具) で入れています。 下のお皿にその色が着いてしまうので、重ねられません。 それでも素焼は釉薬による密着がないので、本焼きよりも 窯に詰められます。 Bisque Firing
I
put my mark under each plate using a slip colour.
I
cannot stack them because the colour may stick to the lower plate.
Even
so, bisque firings are more closely packed than glaze firings,
because
I must avoid adhesion by glaze if any work deforms in firing.

本焼
思ったよりも薄い青でした。
これはこれで良いのかな？
後にいなって、いくつかのお皿は二度焼きして、
青の色を深めました(下の写真)。

are paler blues than I expected.

they good?
After
that, I fired some dishes for a second glaze firing, below.
I
deepened the colour of blue.

| 素焼 / Bisque Firing |
素焼、本焼きをなんども繰り返します。
本焼きはお皿がつかないように間を開けるので、本焼きの回数が素焼よりも多くなります。
I have bisque firings and glaze firings repeatedly.
Because less works can be fitted in the kiln for glaze firings I need more glaze firings than bisque firings.
