母の米寿の祝いを母の誕生日にしました。
米寿という名は、「米」の字を分解すると「八十八」になることに由来しています。
例年、母を我が家に招いて小さな誕生日会はしています。
'米寿の祝い'とは、名ばかりで、内容は、例年と変わりません (苦笑)。
まあ、個展準備で精神的にも肉体的にも、時間的にも、余裕がない中で、努力はしたことは、自分で自分を褒めてあげよう！
Yも忙しい中、時間を作って、来てくれましたし、プレゼントも用意してくれました。
RにもYにも非常にサポートして、実現したお祝いの会でした。

Celebration of Eighty-eighth Birthday
We celebrated our mother's eighty-eighth birthday : Beijyu (米寿) in Japan!Beijyu is a traditional way of celebrating one's 88th birthday in Japan.
The name "Beijyu: 米寿" is derived from the fact that "米" is decomposed into "八十八 : eight eighty"
Every year, we invite our mother and my sister,Y to our home and have a small birthday party for our mother.
"Celebration of 88th" was just the name, and the content was the same as usual (Wry Smile).
Well,
while most of my time, mental and physical energy go into preparing for my exhibition, I did still make effort for her birthday, so I felt “Let's praise myself!”
Though Y was busy she made time to come and she prepared presents.
