友人Mから小荷物が届きました。

「何かしら~?」
と思いつつ、包みを開けると、誕生日プレゼントでした。

「えーっ！」
と驚く！

私の誕生日は、約１ヶ月ほど先....彼女の文面を読むと、長崎旅行に行ったお土産が誕生日プレゼントであり、その一つのカステラの賞味期限が1ヶ月先まで持たないので、早く送ってくれたそうです。

最近、日本の上等菓子類は、食品添加物が入っていないので、日持ちがしなくなっていますものね。

色々、配慮していただき、ありがとうございました。

他のプレゼントも素敵なものばかりでした。

I received a package from my friend, M.

When I opened the package, I wondered

"What is it?"

It was my birthday present from her.

"Wow!" I was surprised!

Because my birthday was still one month ahead.

After reading her writing, I understood that the presents were souvenirs from her Nagasaki travel and one of them was Castilla, which would be past its freshness date on my birthday, so she sent them earlier.

Recently, Japanese premium confectionery products have no food additives, so they have little shelf life.
