1) 'こふく'までの道 /On the Way to 'Kofuku'

この庭は年間を通して、きれいにしています。

This garden looks good all through the year.

ほのぼの.......

Looking up at the poetic spring sky.......

花そのものから、光をはなっているよう、まぶしい....

Each flower seems to emit it own light, they are dazzlingly.

Cherry petals and Suberigaw River

ここは秋は紅葉、春は桜が楽しめる素敵な場所

Here is a lovely place, we can enjoy the autumn colour in autumn,
and cherry blossom in spring.

ダブル ビッグ！
 Double Big!

二匹いると、驚きが数倍になります。

Two Giants, not double but supra surprising.

2) 初めてのこふく / Fist visite to 'Kofuku'

A. 誠実と謙虚 / Faithful and Modest

入り口の左に街灯があったそうですが、昨年秋に竜巻があり、コンクリートでとめてあったにもかかわらず、持っていかれてしまったそうです。

( 紅葉と大雨 /Autumn Colours and Downpour )

お店も被害があったそうですが、既に修理済み。

入り口のたたずまいは、ひっそりとしています。英語の表現では、

このような状態は '謙虚な'とよく表現されます。

Faithful and Modest

There was a streetlight to the left side of the entrance.

A tornado took it last autumn, even though it had been set in concrete.

The house of the restaurant had some damage which has been repaired.

The appearance of the entrance is quiet, as if it were not there. 

I think that , in English, this would be described as' modest'

B. 入り口から玄関まで

入り口から玄関まで、短いけれど、わくわくさせる空間があります。

From the entrance to the sliding front doors

The distance is short from the entrance to the front doors, although the space made my heart pound in excited anticipation.

C. ふたを開けると..... / Open the lid and then.....

Ready Begin

お料理も、接待も丁寧で繊細です。

予約をした時に、椅子を用意していただけるとのことだったので、

お願いしました。

私は脱臼の恐れがある正座はまだできないのです。

お店の心遣いがこういう配慮からも感じられます。

私はグルメでもないし、食べ歩きをよくするほうでもないですが、
なんとなく、最近の日本の多くの飲食店は傲慢に感じます。 

でもここは、お客を大切に思う気持ちがいろいろなところで感じられました。

もしかしたら、それは"お客'でなく、"人"に対する♥思いやり♥なのかもしれません。

Open the lid and then.....

Their cooking and attitude are politely and delicate.

When I booked, I knew they can set chairs on tatami for their customers and I did request.

I cannot yet sit on tatami in Japanese formal stye, kneeling on the floor. 

Because the danger of dislocation is high.

I feel that this is a good example of how much they consider their customers.

I am not a gourmet and I do not go to so many restaurants, although somehow I feel nowadays many restaurants in Japan are arrogant.

However, I feel that this restaurant thinks about every thing from their considers point of view. 

I feel they treat customers, as honors guests.

松花堂弁当 
松花堂弁当(¥2,000)には、お味噌汁とデザートがつきます。

 Shoukado-bento: Lunch Box
Shoukado-bento (¥2,000) has a lunch box 
with a miso soup and sweets.

お弁当はふたを空けたときの瞬間が楽しみですね。

このお弁当箱は、二段重ねなので、

2回もこの楽しみが味わえます。

It is entertainment when we lift our lid, isn't it?

This bento has two trays, so we can have twice the pleasure.

白玉あずき
最後は白玉あずきです。

予約が必要なコース(3,000円)は、夜も昼も同じです。
次回はそちらを試してみたいです。

 Shiratama Azuki
The last course was Shiratama Azuki
which is Japanese traditional sweets.

The full-course meal of their cuisine ¥3,000, needs booking, 

it is the same at lunch time and dinner time.

Next time we could have it.

3) いつか / One Day

杉本観音

Sigimoto - Kannon; Sugimoto - Goddess of Mercy

帰り道は、コースをかえて杉本観音の前を通りました。

ここの観音様は写真のような階段をあがったところにあるので、
行けるのはまだまださきですね。

私の足のためには、完全に回復後も、できるだけ、こういったところはさけた方が良いのですが、行ってみたいです。

私達はkaeru Cafe まで散歩を続けました。

One Day

We took a different route home, so we passed Sugimoto - Kannon. 

The Kannon is on the top after these steps (see this photograph) .

I will make it much later. 

These places are not good for my leg or hip even though I will be recovered. 

However, I would like to go there in the future.

We carried on to Kaeru Cafe.

4) 初めて訪ねるKaeru Cafe / Kaeru Cafe, First Visit

自宅を利用してカフェにしています。

お店の女性は、英語が堪能、Rも気軽に話せてくつろげるお店になりました。

ここの一番好きなところは、イングリッシュガーデン風の庭です。

ここを初めて訪れるのなら、春や初夏が適していると思うので、私達はラッキーでした。

この庭にはたくさんの違ったカエルの置物があります。

そのカエルに私の興味はたいしてありませんが、素晴らしいと思うのは、その配置の仕方です。

カエル達は庭にとけ込んでいて、気にしていなければ、見過ごしてしまいます。

私の考えでは、通常、庭にこのような置物をおくと、異質な空気を発し、庭全体をキッチュな印象にしたり、子供っぽくしたりしがちです。

ですが、ここはそうなっていず、自然に庭に馴染ませていることに
好感を持ちます。

冬場に植物があまりない時には、このカエル達はもっとアピールするかもしれません。

(本来なら、冬眠ですのにね。笑 )

ですが、カエル達の存在は、今の時期の庭を私 (達)に思い起こさせる働きをするのではないかな〜と思います。

冬に、ここを楽しむためにも、初めて訪れるなら、緑が輝く時期が
良いと思います。

Kaeru Cafe, First Visit

They use their home as a cafe.

 A woman who is one of staff speaks English well, so R can be relaxed and can chat easily. 

My favourite point of the cafe is their English style garden.

I think if people visit here for the first time, the best season might be spring or early summer, so we were lucky.

There are many different figureheads of frogs : Kaeru in Japanese.

I am not so interested in them, although I think their layout is great.

The frogs fade into the garden, so if you do not look carefully you might miss them.

In my opinion, usually figures like these in a garden, give out an air of a different nature, they make the impression of the garden kitsch or childish. 

However, this garden is not like that.

I have a good feeling about their ability to make the frogs suit the garden.

I guess that in winter, there are not so many plants, so the frogs might appeal more than now.

(Strictly speaking they should be hibernating. Laugh)

However, the existence of the frogs might remind me or us of the current garden.

I think if people visit this cafe for the first time, it should be in the season of green shine all around.

5) 本当に桜のシーズンですね
