❷誕生日- わさび & N一家 / My Birthday!-WASABI & N family

'わさび'は鎌倉で有名なお寿司屋さんです。

鎌倉に住み始める前から、そのことは知っていましたが、なかなか行けずにいました。

ようやく、本日実現です。

'Wasabi' is a popular sushi restaurant in Kamakura.

I knew about it before we started living in Kamakura, although we could not visit before. 

 At last we visited today.

1) 外側/ Outside

入り口

メニューがかかっていないので、ちょっと不安に。

でも確かに予約したから、きっと大丈夫！

ちょっと心配しだした時に、
お手伝いの?女性が到着して、中へ入れました。

Their menu was not hanging outside, 

I think usually it hangs when they are open. 

So I was a bit anxious that they were closed, 

even though I definitely had booked, so it should be aright!

Just as I started wondering,
a woman arrived and then we could go in.

2)玄関に入ったところで/ At the front door

ご主人は今、お店に向かっていると聞きました。

予約を忘れられてしまったらしい....。

英国を経験しているので、私も、もちろんRも
結果オーライ。

でも、日本では珍しいことですよね。

お店が予約を気にしなくて良いというのは、このお店が繁盛している証拠でもあるのかな？

At the front door

She told us that the sushi chef was about to arrive. 

He seemed to have forgotten my booking.

I had experience in Britain, so I and R were alright in the end.

However, it is unusual in Japan. 

They do not have to remember bookings, which maybe shows they are successful.

3) 店内 / Inside

The somethings display on the wall. Are they tools?

お花も枯れていないし、お掃除もいきとどいているようなので、

ちょっと安心しました。

The flowers were not shriveled and
the room was clean so I was a little bit relieved.

カウンターですが、掘りごたつのように畳にすわり、
足をおろします。

The bottom in the photograph is a counter,
although it is similar to Horigotatsu 
which is a low covered table placed over a hole
in the floor of a Japanese-style room.

4) ご主人到着 / The Chef Arrives

錫のお銚子

Rの嫌いなもの、食べられないものが多くて、珍味系が苦手であるのもあって、
ご主人がお困りのようでしたが、どうにか彼にも食べられる前菜を用意していただきました。

お寿司も通常は一貫づつ出されるようですが、彼の場合、いくつかは二貫でした。

私はどれも喜んで食べましたし、お寿司も通常通り出していただきました。

お寿司の写真は他でたくさん見られると思うので、私のブログではお銚子の写真を載せます。

ご主人から錫は毒が入っていると色が変わるから、昔はお殿様のお銚子は錫だったのだというお話を聞きました。

酔っぱらってしまっていたので、詳しく憶えていないです〜〜！ 笑

The Chef Arrives

R does not like some foods, cannot eat some ingredients and does not like dainty bits. 

It was a big trouble for the chef, he just managed to make some starters for R.

Their sushi is usually every thing different in the dinner course, although some ingredients of the sushi were same ones for R.

I enjoyed everything, and my sushi's ingredients were normal style.

                                                    
You can see their sushi in other websites and so on, so I use photographs of some ochoushi of tin : sake bottle in my blog.

The chef spoked about the bottles that the tin bottle colour is changed if sake has a poison, so a tin sake bottle was used for a load in the old period. 

I did not remember other things, because I drank a lot. Laugh

5) お隣を無理矢理訪問 / Imposing on Neighbours

酔っぱらいはどこでも迷惑な話です。

わさびの後に、Rのシャンパンを持参してお隣Nさんを無理矢理訪問。
(ごめんなさい)

酔っぱらいの私をNさん一家は優しい気持ちで迎えてくださりました。

おかげで、とても素敵な誕生日になりました。

Imposing on Neighbours

There are drunkards everywhere.

After 'Wasabi', we insisted on visiting neighbours with R's champagne. ( I am sorry)

N family accepted us with their kindness and warm hearts, in spite of me being 
a drunkard. 

So my birthday became perfectly pleasant for me.
