1) DM / Invitation Card
鎌倉の辺鄙な場所に住んでいて、私が出不精であることなどあり、なかなか東京へ出ることがありません。
本日は、夫Rと新宿高島屋で開催されていた友人のグループ展に行ったので、表参道にも足を運ぶことができました。
グループ展については下記。
寺田 和幸 (テラダカズユキ / 1946~) 氏には、お会いしたことがありませが、Galerie412からDMを送っていただいたので、画廊に来ました。
寺田氏の作品を見るのは、初めてだと思います(以前、見ていたかもしれませんが記憶にありません)。
DMの絵にも好感を持っていましたし、実際、作品を見て、好きな作品群だと感じました。
会場での撮影は許可を得ています。

Invitation Card
I live in a remote area of Kamakura and I'm a stay-at-home person, so I don't often go to Tokyo.
Today, my husband R and I went to a friend's group exhibition in Shinjuku Takashimaya Department, so we were also able to visit Omotesando.
About the Group Exhibition, below.
We have never met Terada Kazuyuki (1946~), but we came to the gallery after receiving a DM from Galerie412.
I think this is the first time I've seen Terada's work (I may have seen it before, but I don't remember).
I liked the picture in the invitation card, and when I actually saw his works, I felt that they were my favourites.
Photography is permitted at the venue.

いくつかの作品は、買ってもいいかな〜と私には思えました。
(買えない価格の作品もありました!)
ですが、Rが抽象作品は苦手なので、作品の購入はできませんでした。
私が寺田氏の作品が好きなのは、見るものを疲れさせるおどろどろしい情念や執念がないからだと思います。
技術面から言うと、私が画面を塗り込めるような作品が苦手です。
寺田氏の作品には、心を軽くする空間があることに好感を持ちます。
素敵なセンスをお持ちだな〜と感じました。
また、作品がGalerie412の個性にあっているので、展示の仕方にそれほど工夫しなくても、良い個展会場になっていたと思います。
I thought some of the works would be worth buying.
(Some were too expensive for me!)
However, R isn't a fan of abstract art, so we were unable to purchase any of the works.
I think the reason I like Terada's work is because it lacks the kind of scary pathos or obsession that tires the viewer.
From a technical standpoint, I'm not a fan of works that involve painting over the entire surface.
I like how Terada's works have a space that lightens the mind.
I felt that he has a wonderful sense of style.
Also, because the works suited the personality of Galerie412, I think it made for a good venue for the exhibition without having to put in too much effort into how the works were displayed.

画廊にいるときには、寺田氏の経歴などを全くしりませんでした。
後日、彼の経歴が少しわかったので、下に書きます。

When I was in the gallery, I knew nothing about Terada's background.

Below is a photo of Omotesando seen from the gallery window.
Because it's December, the trees lining the street are decorated with illuminations, a seasonal sight at this time of year.
