夫Rと私は、友人、はっこちゃん (小林初子/ コバヤシハツコ) のグループ展を見るために、新宿高島屋へ行きました。
グループ展 ："Best wishes, - contemporary jewelry + object " は、10階、美術画廊で開催されていました。

My husband R and I visited Shinjuku Takashimaya Department to see a group exhibition by my friend, Hakko Chan (Hatsuko Kobayashi).
The group exhibition "Best wishes, - contemporary jewelry + object" was held in the art gallery on the 10th floor.

作品がジュエリーなので、大きさが小さいです。
よって、遠目での来訪者もしくは、百貨店のお客さんへのアピールが難しいかと思います。
それを掛け軸形型の5つポスターで、素敵にアピールしていました。

Because the pieces are jewelry, they are small in size.
Therefore, it would be difficult to appeal to visitors or department store customers from a distance.
They were beautifully presented in the form of five hanging scroll-shaped posters.

Hatsuko Kobayashi Profile in Japanese and English 神奈川県在住 インハウスのグラフィックデザイナーとして勤務のち、留学。 ベルギー・アントワープ王立アカデミーにてマスター修了。 コンテンポラリージュエリーの制作を始める。 Living in Kanagawa Prefecture. After working as an in-house graphic designer, she studied abroad. Completed her master's degree in the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Started creating contemporary jewelry.  instagram : ★ |

彼女は、アーティストでもあり、
"het Labo atrium / ヘット ラボ アトリウム"のギャラリーオーナー
(井上美智子さんと共同経営)です。
"ヘット ラボ アトリウム"は、当初は、新宿区西新宿にありましたが、現在は新宿区高田馬場にあります。
私達は、ギャラリーが高田馬場に移ってからは、まだ行ったことがありません。

She is also an artist and the gallery owner of
"het Labo atrium" (jointly run with Michiko Inoue).
"het Labo atrium" was originally located in Nishi-Shinjuku,
Shinjuku-ku, but is now located in Takadanobaba, Shinjuku-ku.
We haven't been there since the gallery moved to Takadanobaba.

はっこちゃんの作品は、ジュエリーというカテゴリーに入れる必要を感じません。
単に現代アート作品として成り立っていると感じます。
とくに、"garden of the sea" シリーズは、1つでも複数での、1つの作品として見ることが私にはできます。
"garden of the sea" シリーズは、非常に美しい作品群で、好きです。

I don't feel the need to categorize Hakko Chan's work as jewelry.
I feel that it simply stands as a work of contemporary art.
In particular, I can see the "garden of the Sea" series as a single work of art, whether it be one piece or multiple pieces.
I love the "garden of the sea" series, it's a very beautiful collection of pieces.

彼女の作品を数年おきに見る機会を持ちます。
いつも異素材に挑戦しつつ、美しさを忘れないところが好きです。
今回のグループ展は、ジュエリー作品ということで、どのかたの作品もそれなりの美があり、私は安心しつつ、目の保養にもなりました。

I have the opportunity to see her work every few years.
I like how she always tries her hand at using different materials, while never forgetting beauty.
This group exhibition was all about jewelry, so each artist's work was beautiful in its own way, which was reassuring for me and a treat for the eyes.
