| さくらのお菓子 3月8日 母の誕生日プレゼントの1つに吉兆庵でのお菓子を選びました。 R用にも3つ購入し、その晩に彼が食べたのは、桜餅でした。 この日、彼は鎌倉の '納言志るこ' (ナゴンシルコ) で、 お汁粉とクリームみつまめも食べています！ Cherry Sweets 8th of March I chose sweets at Kitcho-an as one of my mother's birthday gifts. I bought three sweets for R and he ate Sakura Mochi that night. According to Wiki about Shiruko,
"Shiruko (汁粉), or oshiruko (お汁粉) with the honorific "o" (お),
is a traditional Japanese dessert. It is a sweet porridge of azuki beans boiled and crushed, served in a bowl with mochi.
There are different styles of shiruko, such as shiruko with chestnuts, or with glutinous rice flour dumplings instead of mochi.
There are two types of shiruko based on different methods of cooking azuki beans.
Azuki beans may be turned into paste, crushed without keeping their original shape, or a mix of paste and roughly crushed beans."

この時期、庭の花を使用して私なりのフラワーアレンジメントを作ります。

| バーベナとフキの煮物・3月23日 フキは春の食材ですね。 私はフキが好きですがRは好きではありません。 でも今年は、'納言志るこ' へ行った際に 彼は、 口直しのフキの佃煮 (伽羅蕗/ キャラブキ) が 気に入りました。 なので一応は、このフキの煮物試してくれました。 食べられないことはないけれど楽しめないという結果でした。 Verbena and Boiled Butterbur, 23rd of March Butterbur : Fuki is a spring ingredient, isn't it? I like butterbur, but R does not. However, this year, when we visited 'Nagon Shiruko', he liked the Tsukudani of butterbur. So for the time being, he tried my cooking butterbur.
