レガロ: Regaloとはイタリア語とスぺイン語で贈り物という意味です。

石黒隆宗 (1971 - )さんも私同様、鎌倉在住で、

数年前にRが私より先に会っていました。

当時、Rから彼のDMを受け取り、この作品好きだな〜と思いました。

そのときの個展には行けなかったのですが、のちになって、

鎌倉での彼の個展で実際の作品を見ました。

そこでDMで受けた印象を確認、そして私は今も彼の作品が好きです。

Exhibition - Gallery Regalo : ★

Regalo  means present in Spanish and Italian. 

Takamune Ishiguro (1971 - ) lives in Kamakura like me,

R had met him a few years ago before I met him.

R gave me his DM at that time, I felt I liked the work on DM.

I could not go his Exhibition at that time, although later 

I saw his works in his another Exhibition in Kamakura.

I made sure of my first impression about his work,

and also I still like his works.

DM : エッチング作品
石黒さんは、鎌倉の同じリトグラフ工房を利用していますが、
彼のメインはエッチング(銅版画)で、こちらはご自身の工房を持たれています。
リトグラフは彼にとっては新境地です。

DMのエッチング作品は何十版も重ねています。

作品に奥行きがあり、黒が美しいです。

1998~2010年の間、彼はNYへ留学、在住していました。
今までに数々の個展や展覧会を日本とNYで開いています。

現在は、桑沢デザイン研究所 のプリント部門の講師もしています。

DM : Etching Work

 Ishiguro San and I use the same lithograph studio,

however, his main prints are  etching and he has his own studio for etching.

For him, lithograph is new ground.

This etching work on DM was printed one after another, several tens times.

The work has a depth and black colour is beautiful.

He studied and lived in NY from 1998 to 2010.

He has held many exhibitions, solo and group in Japan and NY.
Nowadays he is a lecturer of print in KUWAZAWA DESIGN SCHOOL as well.

左の絵にきらきらしている素材が付いていました。

砂であると聞きました。
鎌倉在住なので、材木座海岸の砂かと思いましたら、
旅行先で得た美しい砂ということでした。

Left work has some sparkles.

I heard they are sand.
He lives in Kamakura, so I thought the sand came from Zaimokuza-beach, 
although he got it on a trip, he said the sand was beautiful.

和紙に墨やコーヒーで描いています。

様々な素材を用いているところに、彼の前向きな姿勢を感じます。

I feel his positive attitude from trying different materials.

窓際へ向かって移動 / Moving Towards Window

墨のぼかしもあって、日本画の風景画のようです。
おどろおどろしくなりがちな手法ですが、
石黒さんの作品はそうはならない。
探究心はあっても、作品はしつこくならないところが素晴らしいと思います。

It looks like a landscape of Japanese painting,
one of the reasons is his use of Sumi's shading off.
The technique tends to make an eerie feeling, however,
his work does not become like that.
I think it is wonderful that he has a questing mind,
although he does not overdo it.

最近、彼は
「作品が暗い」
「やりすぎているのかも」
と言いますが、そんなことはないと私は思います。
暗いというよりも、深い印象ですし、息抜きができる間が残されているので、
やりすぎているとは私には思えません。

Nowadays he said "My works are dark" and "I do paint to excess",
although I do not think so.
They are deep rather than dark and he has kept space,
so I do not think too much.

Display on Chairs under the window

窓と大きな壁の間にある隙間に小作品が展示されていました。
スペースの使い方が上手だな〜と思いつつ、
作品に見入りました。

There are gaps between the window and the big walls,
small works were displayed in the gaps.
While I felt it was good use of space,
I gazed at the works.

丸い形を用いて構成上の変化をつけます。
新しい試みをどんどんしていますね。

The furthest work was used for DM.

彼の探究心と創作に対して精力的であることに、感動しました。

石黒さんの個展の前に、"ギャラリー412" (表参道ヒルズ) へも行き、ある作家の個展を見ました。

その作品は日本画でありながら洋風に仕上げていました。

多くの新しい作品、作風は、素材もカテゴリーもミックスされ、境界がなくなってきているように思います。

石黒さんの次の個展が楽しみです。

Before his Exhibition, I went to "Galerie412" in Omotesando-Hills and I saw an artist's exhibition.

The works are Japanese paintings, although the style is Western.

In my view, many new works and new styles mix materials and categories, so the border lines might be gone.

I am looking forwards to seeing Ishiguro San's next exhibition.
