1) 10年ぶり / After 10 years
小川 洋子 (1962 ~ )さんの作品が好きです。
そう思っていたのですが、さいごに彼女の本をさいごに読んだのが、10年前ほどで、対談集の
[河合隼雄 ( 1928 - 2007) 著 ＆ 小川洋子 著 / 2008 / 新潮社]
でした(下記)。
これでは、'好き'と言えませんね?
10年も彼女の作品を読んでいない感覚がありません。
10年があっという間に過ぎてしまったとも言えます。
今夏、小川さんの『物語の役割』(ちくまプリマー新書/ 2007)を読みました。
私よりもずっと小川さんのファンである姉Yから貰い受けました。
Yが8月18.19日に泊まりにきて、この本を
長い小説ではなく、随筆で、本のページが開きやすかったので、気軽に読み始めました。

| 私の本は、2021年版です。 この本は小川さんが講演したときの原稿です。 いわゆる、講演集です。 "Monogatari-no-Yakuwari : The Role of Narrative" Chikuma Primer Shinsho / 2007 : ★ My book is a 2021 reprint. This book is the manuscript for Ogawa's lecture. It's called a collection of lectures.  Every day we transform unacceptable realities to fit the shape of our hearts. The author conveys the joy of expressing in words the stories that everyone creates and needs. |
After 10 years
I like works of Yōko Ogawa (1962 ~ ).
I thought so, but the last time I read her book was about 10 years ago,
"Life Means Making Your Own Story" [Hayao Kawai (1928 - 2007) & Yōko Ogawa / 2008 / Shinchosha] , below.
Now I can't say 'I like her work', can I?
I didn't feel I hadn't read her work in 10 years.
It can be said that 10 years have passed in the blink of an eye.
I read Ogawa's "Monogatari-no-Yakuwari : The Role of Narrative" (Chikuma Primer Shinsho / 2007) this summer.
I was given this from my sister Y, who is a fan of Ogawa much more than I am.
Y came to stay on August 18th and 19th, gave me this book and she said
"This is the book that has impressed me the most in a long time".

The book is not a long novel, it is an essay, so the pages of the book were easy to open, so I started reading freely.

2) 心を揺らす / Heart Shaking
随筆は、おもしろいな〜と思うことがあっても、小説を読んだときに心が揺れるような思いをしたことがあまりありません。
ですが、この本を読み始め、Yが言ったことがわかりました。
作家が心を動かされた小説の素材がこの本には書かれています。
それは作家の手腕によってすでに調理されて、私たちに届きます。
最終的な形は、彼女の小説ですが、この本(講演の原稿)の段階で、
すでにそこには熱いものが流れています。
私(たち)が、それに心を揺さぶられるのは、当然のことなのかもしれません。
第二部は、大学生に向けて講演されたときの内容です。
8月が誕生日の大学生の友人に、この本を買って、プレゼントしました。

Heart Shaking
Even though I sometimes find essays interesting, I had not felt as I am sometimes impressed when reading novels.
But when I started reading this book, I understood what Y had meant.
This book contains the materials for the novels that moved Ogawa.
The materials reach us already cooked by the skill of the author.
The final form is her novel, but at the stage of this book (the manuscript of the lecture), there is already something passionate going on.
It may be natural for me (us) to be shaken by them.
The second chapter is the content of the lecture given to university students.
I bought this book as a gift for my university student friend whose birthday is in August.
