1) 稲荷社 / Inari Shrine
リトグラフ工房の往復の道では、目が止まった風景や場面を撮影しています。
今日は、扉が大きく開かれている祠が目に止まりました。
いつもなら扉が閉じられていたように記憶しています。
ですが、単に私が気がつかなかっただけかもしれません。
とにかく、今日は、開かれた扉の中に、好奇心が湧きました。
中を見てびっくり！
中には、たくさんの小さな狐像がありました。
ここは稲荷社だったのです。

稲荷社
通常、稲荷社は赤い鳥居がありますが、ここにはありません。
Inari Shrine
Inari shrines usually have a red torii gate or gates,
but none are here.
According to Wiki about Inari Shrine,
"An Inari shrine is a type of Japanese shrine
used to worship the kami Inari.
Inari is a popular deity associated with foxes, rice, household wellbeing, business prosperity, and general prosperity.
Inari shrines are typically constructed of white stucco walls with red-lacquered woodwork, and their entrances
are marked by vermilion torii." |

On the round-trip road to the lithograph studio, I photograph the scenery and scenes that catch my eye.
Today, I noticed a Hokora : a small shrine with its doors wide open.
I remembered that the doors were normally closed.
But maybe I just didn't notice.
Anyway, today I was curious about the inside.
I was surprised to see the inside!
I saw many small fox statues.
This is an Inari shrine.

たくさんの狐
稲荷社の前に対の狐の像はよく見かけます。
が、こんなにたくさんの狐が社の中にある
稲荷社は初めて見ました。
撮影させていただいたので、お賽銭をと思い財布を見ると
小銭が100円玉と500玉しかありませんでした。
日頃私は、お賽銭は5円玉、10円玉、50円玉を使用し
特別なときに500円玉を使います。
「仕方ない...」
100円玉を使いました。
Many Foxes A pair of fox statues are often seen in front of an Inari shrine. However, I've never seen an Inari shrine with so many foxes inside the shrine (Yashiro) like this. Since I was photographing, I looked inside my wallet for offering of money and found that there were only 100 yen coins and 500 coins. I usually use 5-yen, 10-yen, and 50-yen coins as offerings, and use 500-yen coins for special occasions. "I can not help it..." I used a 100-yen coin. |
2) 別願寺 / Betsugan-ji Temple
稲荷社は、別願寺 (ベツガンジ) の入り口にあります。
稲荷社と別願寺の関係は明確なことは、わかりません。
が、お寺と神社が一緒の敷地にあることは、神仏習合 (シンブツシュウゴウ) の文化がある日本では良くあることです。
現在、別願寺の建物は新築中で、もう少しで完成しそうな段階です。
以前は、お寺なのか、一般の家なのかよくわからない建物でした。
新しい建物は、はっきりとお寺だとわかります。
別願寺の創建は、 1282年です。
元からあった真言宗の能成寺を一遍上人 の弟子、公認 (のちに覚阿) が、時宗の寺にし、別願寺に改称しました。

当時は鎌倉御所ないし鎌倉殿 (カマクラドノ) と呼ばれていた。"
稲荷社によって、ここが真っ当なお寺であることを確認できました。
以前は、本当に何だかよくわからない建物で、新興宗教かと推測してました。
歴史があるお寺だったのですね〜。

別願寺

私は、時宗という宗派を初めて知りました。
時宗の総本山は神奈川県藤沢市の
清浄光寺（通称・遊行寺 /ユギョウジ) です。
写真、右手に稲荷社があります。
Betsugan-ji Temple
1-11-4 Omachi, Kamakura City
I first knew about the denomination called Ji-shu.
The head temple of Ji-shu is Sekou-ji Temple
(commonly known as Yugyo-ji Temple) in Fujisawa City,
Kanagawa Prefecture.

Betsugan-ji Temple
The Inari Shrine is located at the entrance of Betsugan-ji Temple.
I don't know that the relationship between the Inari Shrine and Betsugan-ji Temple is clear.
However, the fact that temples and shrines are on the same site is common in Japan, where there is a culture of Shinbutsu-shūgō which is a religious phenomenon in which Shinto Buddhist beliefs are fused and reconstructed as a single religious system.
Currently, the Betsugan-ji Temple building is under construction and is about to be completed.
In the past, it was a building that I didn't know if it was a temple or an ordinary house.
I can clearly see that the new building is a temple.
Betsugan-ji Temple is a temple of Ji-shu sect.
Betsugan-ji Temple was founded in 1282.
Originally Nojo-ji Temple of Shingon Buddhism was renamed to Betsugan-ji Temple by a disciple of Ippen Shonin, Kounin Shonin (later Kakua), as a temple of Ji-shu. [A different person from Kakua (1143 - ?),
"Kantō kubō (関東公方) (also called Kantō gosho (関東御所), Kamakura kubō (鎌倉公方), or Kamakura gosho (鎌倉御所)) was a title equivalent to shōgun assumed by Ashikaga Motouji after his nomination to Kantō kanrei, or deputy shōgun for the Kamakura-fu, in 1349."
The Inari shrine confirmed that this is a respectable temple.
I used to guess that it was a new religion because it was a building
I didn't really understand.
It is a Temple with a long history.
3) 赤い植物 / Red Plants
A. 紅梅 / Koubai : Red Plum
前回、リトグラフ工房の庭で、紅白の梅を見ました。
他の場所にも梅は咲いているかな〜？と思いつつ、工房へ向かい、紅梅が咲いているのを見つけました。

Last time, I saw red and white plum blossom in the garden of the lithograph studio.
As I walked, I wondered if plums are blooming in other places too, when I found a red plum in bloom.
B. オタフクナンテン / Nandina
ポインセチアの小さい版、真っ赤な葉っぱの植物を見つけました。
撮影したときには、名前が分かりませんでしたが、帰宅後、調べてみると、'オタフクナンテン' (お多福南天) という、めでたい名前の植物でした。
ナンテンは、縁起が良く、日本ではよく植えられているとは認識していました。
が、縁起が良い理由が、「難を転じて福をもたらす」からであると、今回初めて知りました。

オタフクナンテン
'オタフクナンテン' は、小型の園芸種のナンテンです。
秋から春には赤い葉で、初夏からは緑になるようです。
実や花はあまりつけないので葉を楽しむ植物です。
'Otafuku Nanten' : Nandina
'Otafuku Nanten' is a small cultivar of Nandina. It seems that the leaves are red from autumn to spring and green from early summer. It is a plant that we enjoy for the leaves, because it hardly has fruits and flowers. |
Nandina
I found a small version of poinsettia, a plant with bright red leaves.
I didn't know the name when I took the picture, and after returning home, I looked it up and found that it was a plant with a very happy name, 'Otafuku Nanten' which means Many Lucky Nandina.
I recognized that Nanten was auspicious and often planted in Japan.
However, I found that the reason is related to a phrase : "Turn a misfortune into a blessing" : "Nan wo Tenjite Fuku wo Motarasu" in Japanese.

6版目の試刷り
複数のバージョンがあるので、色の候補も複数作りました。
微妙な色の違いに苦労しました。
それぞれのバージョンに合わせたので、使用した色も複数です。
Test Prints of the 6th Plate
Since there are a few versions, I also made a few colours.
I had a hard time with the subtle colour differences.
I used different colours to match the colours of each earlier version.

モノ作品
最後に幾つかの作品に金泊を施しました。
結果、モノ作品ばかり...
どの作品を個展に使用するかは3月に決めます。
Monowork
At last, I gave gold leaf to some works.
As a result, each print is different : a monowork.
Which work will be used for the exhibition will be decided in March.
