2022年2月4日個展準備 - リトグラフ工房 / Preparation for My Exhibition - Lithograph Studio, 4th of February, 2022

A. サギ / Heron

大町 (鎌倉市) のリトグラフ工房へ行く時は、ほとんどの場合、

滑川 (ナメリガワ) に架かる延命橋を渡ります。

延命橋は、神奈川県道311号鎌倉葉山線上にあり、その道を私もリトグラフ工房へと歩きます。

延命橋から滑川を眺めると、時々サギが見られます。

渡るたびに

「今日はいるかな〜？」

と確認します。

昨年11月以来のサギをこの日(2月4日)に見ました。

サギ、いました〜！

鎌倉には、アオサギ、ダイサギ、コサギなどがいるようですが、

私にはアオサギとコサギがわかる程度です。

これはコサギです。

There is a Heron!

It seems that there are Gray Herons, Great Egrets,

Little Egrets, etc. in Kamakura, but I can only know

Gray Heron and Little Egret.

This is a Little Egret.

Heron

When I go to the lithograph studio in Ōmachi, Kamakura, Kanagawa Prefecture, I almost always cross the Enmei Bridge spanning the Nameri Rive r.

The Bridge is located on the Kamakura Hayama Route and I also walk to the lithograph studio along the road.

When I look at the River from the Bridge, I can sometimes see a heron.

Every time I cross, I confirm "Is it today?"

冬のコサギ
夏のコサギには、2本の長い冠羽 (カンウ) があり、
冬のコサギにはありません。

Little Egret in Winter

Little egrets in summer have two long crests,

which little egrets in winter do not.

冠羽があるので夏ですね。

"コサギ"
『英国の鳥類史』(1804) 第2巻・'水鳥' より
著と版画 : トーマス・ビウィック(1753 - 1828)
トーマス・ビウィックは、英国の木版画家であり、
博物学者でした。
このコサギも夏のコサギ。

He was an English wood-engraver and natural history author.
This little egret is also a little egret in summer.

Flowers Announcing Spring

紅梅
立派な紅梅が咲き始めています。

Kobai : Red Plum: Red Ume
A splendid Kobai is beginning to bloom.

スイセン
私にとってスイセン (水仙) は春のイメージだったので、
このスイセンが咲いているところを見て
「わ〜！、もう、スイセンが咲いてる〜」
と驚きました。
帰宅後調べてみると、これは
ニホンズイセン (日本水仙) で冬から春に咲くものでした。
でもこれは一般的な日本水仙よりも花びらが長細いです。

Narcissus

For me, Narcissus : Daffodil is an image of spring,

so when I saw this in bloom, I was surprised,

"Wow !, Narcissus is already in bloom."

When I researched it after I got home,

it was a Japanese Narcissus (Narcissus tazetta var. chinensis)

that blooms from winter to spring.

But this one has longer and narrower petals

than a typical Japanese Narcissus.

大町の個人住宅の庭の水仙です。

They are Narcissus in a private house garden in Ōmachi,.

たんぽぽ
道端にたんぽぽが咲いていました。
私は、たんぽぽは、春または夏のイメージがあります。
後で知りましたが、日本在来種のたんぽぽは春に咲き、
外来種(セイヨウタンポポ)は夏に咲来ます。
このたんぽぽは在来種なんですね〜。

Dandelions

Dandelions were blooming on the roadside.

I have an image of dandelions in spring or summer.

As I found later, the Japanese native dandelion blooms in spring,

and the alien species (Taraxacum Officinale) blooms in summer.

This dandelion is a native species, isn't it?

2) リトグラフ工房 / Lithograph Studio

この作品は6版あります。
今日は、4版目を刷りました。

Test Prints

This work used 6 plates.

Today, I printed the 4th plate.

6版の作品ですが、

いくつかは途中の段階で止め、それを完成としました。

Although it is a 6 plates print work,

some were completed with less than 6 plates.

テスト作品
リトグラフのインクの基本となるメディウムをリトグラフとは
違う使い方をしています。
乾燥に非常に時間がかかると後から知りました。
テストは昨年11月に始めたので、現在は3ヶ月目。
表面は乾いています。
リトグラフのY先生は
「きっと中は乾いていない。
1年経っても乾かないかもしれないよ。
早く乾かすなら乾燥剤を混ぜなきゃね」
とのこと。
次回のテストは乾燥剤を調達して混ぜてみようと思います。

Test Work

The medium, which is the basis of lithograph ink,

is used differently from lithograph.

I later found that it would take a very long time to dry.

The test started in last November, so it's now 3 months.

The surface is dry.

Lithograph teacher Y said,

"I'm sure the inside isn't dry. It may not dry even after a year.

If you want to dry quickly, you have to mix a desiccant."

For the next test, I will procure a desiccant and mix it.
