1) 三度目 / The Third Time
私の血液検査の結果を聞くためと夫Rとのインフルエンザ予防接種予約のために鎌倉の中心部に外出しました。
目的を果たし、ランチ先に、'ラッテリア べべ カマクラ'へ行きました。
このお店には過去二度行っていますが、混んでいたり、お休みだったりで入店はしていません。
今日が三度目の訪問でしたが、またしても混んでいて入店がで来ませんでした。
行列の中に加わる気はなく、他のお店に行くことにしました。
'ラッテリア べべ カマクラ'は、鎌倉駅の近くなので、いつかまた機会はあるでしょう。

The Third Time
I and my husband R went out to the centre of Kamakura to hear the results of my blood test and to make an appointment for influenza vaccination for R.
After fulfilling our purpose, we went to a restaurant, 'Latteria Bebe's Kamakura'.
We've been to this restaurant twice in the past, but we haven't entered it because it has been crowded or closed.
Today was our third visit, but it was crowded again and we couldn't enter there.
We didn't want to join the queue, so we decided to go to another restaurant.
'Latteria Bebe Kamakura' is near Kamakura station, so there will be another opportunity someday.
2) そば処五島 / Goto Soba Restaurant
A. 新しい建物 / New Building
'ラッテリア べべ カマクラ'の次に 'そば処五島' を思いついたのは、
先月、 '五島そば' の隣の文房具店、'Tsuzuru' に行ったからでした。
'Tsuzuru' 訪問については下記。
'そば処五島' は、地元民のためのお蕎麦屋さんという印象を持っています。
お店は、数年前に再建築するために2年近く閉じ、現在の建物はしっかりとした新しい建物になりました。
閉じていた時に再オープンの時期が表示されていましたが、なかなかオープンされず、私(達)はオープンに期待するのをやめ、その存在を忘れてしまいました。
英国から鎌倉に家を探しにきた時に、趣のある古いお店で食事をしたことがありました。
その頃、私達は地元民ではありませんでしたが、私は日本そばが大好きですし、Rの食の問題があまり問題にならないのが日本そばやうどんのお店だからです。
私達はあまりよく知らない土地で食事をする場合は、お蕎麦屋さんへ行きます。
鎌倉に住み始た頃も、'そば処五島' へ2、3度行きました。
(器が重箱の場合は、天重で、どんぶりの場合は天丼)
彼はそのことをすっかり忘れていましたが、私はしっかり覚えていました。
彼の食の問題で困る思いをするのは私の方なので、彼が食べられるものがあったり、気に入ったりしたお店は私の方が覚えているのです。
今日、 'そば処五島' を思いついたのも私でした。
新しい建物になってから1、2度来ましたが、それも随分前のことです。
久しぶりにここで食事をしました。

New Building
I came up with "Goto Soba Restaurant" : "Soba-dokoro Goto" after "Latteria Bebe Kamakura" because we went to the stationery shop "Tsuzuru" next to "Goto Soba" last month.
About visiting 'Tsuzuru', below.
"Goto Soba Restaurant" gives me the impression that it is a Japanese soba-noodle restaurant for locals.
The restaurant closed for nearly two years to be rebuilt a few years ago, and the current building has become a solid new building.
While it was closed, the month to reopen was displayed, but it was not opened easily, and I (we) stopped expecting it to open and forgot its existence.
When we visited Kamakura to find our house from Britain, we had meals in the quaint old restaurant ("Goto Soba Restaurant").
At that time, we weren't locals, but I love Japanese soba-noodle, and R's food problems don't really matter in Japanese soba or udon restaurants.
If we eat in a place we are not familiar with, we go to a soba restaurant.
We visited "Goto Soba Restaurant" a couple times after we first started living in Kamakura.
R liked this restaurant's Tenjū (Tendon).
(If the tableware is a Jūbako, the food is called Tenjū, and if the tableware is a bowl, it is called Tendon.)
He completely forgot about their Tenjū, but I remembered it well.
I'm the one who has trouble with his food problems, so I remember the restaurants he could eat in and liked more than him.
It was I who came up with "Goto Soba Restaurant".
We have been to the new building once or twice, but that was a long time ago.
We ate here for the first time in a long time.

B. 店内 / Inside

建物も設備も新しくなりました。
が、蕎麦屋としてのあり方は、以前と同様であると感じます。
新規のお店は新しいアイディアが何か必要ですが、ここは、'ハコ' を丈夫にし、時代に合わせたただけで新しいアイディアを盛り込む必要はないのです。
またRが忘れた頃に訪れるくらいで私にはちょうど良いお店です。
懐かしいと思うお店が営業し続けていることが嬉しいです。
The building and facilities have been renewed.
However, I feel that the way a soba restaurant should be is the same as before.
New shops need some new ideas, but here doesn't have to make 'Building' strong and incorporate new ideas just to keep up with the times.
Also, it's a good restaurant for me as I visit it when R forgets.
I'm glad that some shops I miss are still open.

| 外でビール！ まん延防止等重点措置、緊急事態措置と続いて外で アルコールが飲めない時期が続きました。 自分たちも外食する機会もほとんどありませんでした。 ワクチン接種も終了し、少しづつ外へ出る機会が増え、 散策の途中でカフェへ寄るようにもなりました。 そんな時にビールの一杯も飲めずがっかりした日々でした。 それが今日、外でビールが飲むことができます。 嬉しい！ Beer Outside! Stronger COVID -19 Measures in Kanagawa and State of Emergency Measures meant a period when alcohol could only be drunk at home. Also, we had few opportunities to eat out. Our vaccinations have been completed, and we have more opportunities to go out little by little, though we have been to cafes during our walks. At that time, we were disappointed because we couldn't drink even a glass of beer. Today, it is possible to drink beer outside. Happy! |

| 折り紙 Rのためにフォークをお願いしました。 折り紙の箸置き (フォーク置き) にRは感動。 こういう心遣いをするお店なのかと 私も少しびっくりしました。 Origami I asked for a fork for R. R was impressed by the origami chopstick rest (fork rest). Also, I was a little surprised that here was such a kind of consideration. |

| "五島の天重" Rが"五島の天重"が好きなことはわかっていましたし、 これが目的でここに来ました。 蕎麦好きな私はいつも、シンプルなお蕎麦を食べていました。 が、今日は、おそらく、人生で初めてお蕎麦屋さんで 天重を食べました。 最近、すごくエビフライが食べたかったので、 天ぷらの誘惑に勝てませんでした。 海老天ぷらの下には野菜の天ぷらが隠れています。 とっても美味しくて満足しました。 ごちそうさまでした。 "Tenjū of Goto" I knew that R liked "Tenjū of Goto" and we came here for this purpose. As a soba lover, I normally eat simple soba. But today, I ate Tenju at a soba restaurant, probably for the first time in my life. Recently, I really wanted to eat Ebi furai ; deep-fried prawn dish so I couldn't resist the tempura. Vegetable tempura is hidden under the prawn tempura. It was very delicious and we were satisfied. Thank you very much! |
Ebi furai and Ebi tempura are similar.
According to Wiki about Ebi furai,
"Ebi furai is a breaded and deep-fried prawn dish, of darker and crunchy texture."
According to Wiki about Ebi tempura
"Ebi tempura or ebiten is tempura of prawn, with a light fluffy coat.
It is served as a main dish, with soy-based dipping sauce or salt."
