A: 近衛歩兵隊 / Foot Guards
年間２万人がこの衛兵交代式を見にバッキングハム宮殿にやって来ます。
私が初めてこの式を見たのは、友人が日本からやって来た2008年6月でした。
そのときも今回も途中から観覧。
このイベントを見たいと思う気持ちはあるものの、その思いは軟弱なのかもしれません。
ですが見始めるとわくわくし出すのです。

バッキガム宮殿の衛兵交代式の近衛歩兵隊は下記の5つです。
毎日５つの隊が参加するのではありません。
例えば今回はスコッツガーズとアイリッシュガーズだったと思います。

軍服の袖や首の●ボタンの配列●や'ベアースキン (黒い帽子) '
についている羽飾り、帽章に違いがあります。

『きゃー、おもちゃの兵隊さんが歩いてる！素敵〜！』
と喜んで見ています。
そうそう、あの黒い帽子が熊の毛皮であることを初めて知りました。
英国の熊でなくカナダの熊の毛皮だそうですよ。

衛兵交代式そのものを見るにはゲートの中を見る位置か、ビクトリアモニュメントによじ上るかしないと見られません。

Foot Guards
2 million people come to see the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace every year.
The first time I saw it was when my friend came from Japan in June 2008.
That time and this time, I was late.
Although I wanted see them, my excitement was not so great.
However, once I started watching them, I became excited.

The Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace, comprises five Foot Guards; below.
They are not together on the day.
For example, I though I saw

last time.

I was a tourist, so whichever regiments,
I was happy and felt "Wow!

you must stand up beside gate or climb the Victoria Memorial.

B: 王室騎兵隊/ Household Cavelry

| ★ブルーズアンドロイヤルズ★ ★The Blues and Royals★ |
ブルーズアンドロイヤルズはホースガーズで交代式をします。
写真の一隊はバッキガム宮殿の任務にやって来ました。
彼らはライフガードとともに王室騎兵隊です。
ライフガードの軍服は赤で、ヘルメットの房は白です。
両連帯ともジャックブーツを使用します。
両連帯ともジャックブーツを使用します。
黒い馬達は通常の馬よりも大きくてりっぱです。
軍馬であり、昔は戦力になったことが納得できます。
馬はアイルランド輓場(ばんば) / Irish Draughtで、力が強く、従順で、大砲や馬車を引くだけでなく馬術や狩猟にも用いらます。

ポリスの馬が小さく見えます。
ですが、この写真ですと違いはわかりずらいですね。After seeing them (the Blues and Royals' horses),
I felt police's horses looked smaller.
Although it is hard to judge from my photograph of police horse.

The Blues and Royals
The Blues and Royals have the Changing of the Guard in Horse Guards.
In my photograph, they are going to their guard duty at Buckingham Palace.
They are Household Cavelry in company with the Life Guard.
The uniform of the life Guard is red colour and their helmet tassels are in white.
Both regiments use Jackboots.
The horses are bigger than average.

Band
The band plays music from classical, military to pop music like ABBA or James Bond.
I liked the James Bond the most.
I did not see pipe band, although Scots band has a pipe band which plays bagpipes.

went in different direction, so I could not see them close up.
I wondered if their mascot,
Irish Wolfhound would be there or not?
