1) 新しいお店 / New Shop
今日は、七里ヶ浜の薬局に夫Rの薬を取りに二人で出かけました。
七里ヶ浜の海へ足を伸ばし、江ノ電で鎌倉駅までゆき、久しぶりにランチも外で取りました。
帰り際に、もとハンバーガーショップがあった場所に、新しいお店がオープンしていました。
この日、最も私が驚いたのはこのことでした。

"弁才天" / "Benzaiten"

New Shop
Today, we went to a pharmacy in Shichirigahama to collect my husband R's medicine.
We went a little way further to the sea of Shichirigahama, then took the Enoden to Kamakura station, and had lunch outside for the first time in a long time.
On our way home, a new shop had just been opened in the place where a hamburger shop used to be.
The new is a fruit Daifuku shop, "
Benzaiten".
This was what surprised me most on this day.

一般的な大福 / Typical Daifuku
"Daifukumochi (大福餅), or daifuku (大福) (literally "great luck"), is a wagashi (Japanese confection) consisting of a small round mochi (glutinous rice cake) stuffed with sweet filling, most commonly anko, sweetened red bean paste made from azuki beans. 2) 偶然にも / Coincidentally
私達が 'フルーツ大福の店' (専門店)を知ったのは、若宮大路にある
ショーウィンドウに並ぶカラフルな大福に目が止まりました。
以前、手ぬぐいのお店 "拭う" があった場所でした。
久しぶりに外出すると人気がありそうに見えた店が閉店していることを知ります。
またその反対に、このコロナ禍でも新しく店舗を出すところも少なからずあります。
"花菱"は、その1つです。
若宮大路の店は支店で本店は北鎌倉にあります。
カラフルな大福に目が止まりはしましたが、"花菱"では購入はしませんでした。
のちに、"華菱" のような大福の本家本元は、"弁才天" であることを知りました。
"弁才天"の創業者の経験談や大福を糸で切る発想が受けていることなどをネット情報で知りました。
そのことを、この日、七里ヶ浜住宅街を歩いているときに、"華菱" を見ていたRに話したのです。
それがその日に、"弁才天"の鎌倉店を偶然見て、びっくりしました。
その偶然に驚かなければ、"弁才天"に入店することもなかったかもしれません。
私は、リンクやこういう偶然を大切にしています。
お店の方にこのお驚きを伝えたら、店長さんを呼んで下さって合わせてくださいました。

華菱でも、大福を糸で切るアイディアを用いています。
こちらでは赤い糸を使用しています。
華菱では、大福を糸で切るのではなく、
「赤い糸で、ご縁を結ぶ糸結び」
と設定されています。
企業はいろいろ考えますね〜。

Hanabishi also uses the idea of cutting Daifuku with thread. They use Red thread. At Hanabishi, instead of cutting Daifuku with a thread, it is described as "a thread knot that ties the edges with a red thread." I am impressed by companies which think about various things. |
Coincidentally
The colorful Daifuku were lined up in the show window to catch my eye.
There used to be the tenugui shop "Nuguu".
When I go out for the first time in a long time, I find out that shops that seemed to be popular have closed.
However, there are quite a few places where new shops have opened even in this corona crisis.
"Hanabishi" is one of them.
Their Wakamiya Ōji street shop is a branch shop and the main shop is in Kita-Kamakura.
My eye was caught by the colorful Daifuku, but I didn't buy any at "Hanabishi".
Later, I found that the original home of Fruit Daifuku Shop, such as "Hanabishi," was "Benzaiten."
I found from online information about the experience of the "Benzaiten" founder and the idea of cutting Daifuku with a thread.
When we were walking in the Shichirigahama residential area on that day, I told R about two Daifuku shops.
That day, we happened to see the Kamakura shop of "Benzaiten" and I was surprised.
If I wasn't surprised by that chance, I might not have entered "Benzaiten".
I value links and these kinds of coincidences.
When I told the shop assistants about my surprise, one called the shop manager to join us.

3) "弁才天" / "Benzaiten"

正式名は、"覚王山フルーツ大福 弁才天"です。
The official name is "Kakuoyama Fruit Daifuku Benzaiten". |
店内 |
カウンターには見本のフルーツ大福が並べられています。
壁の窓から、手作りされている様子を見ることができます。
このカウンターの感じ、フォートナム&メイソンで
見たディスプレイ (下の画像) を思い出しました。

大きい！
ですが見本と実際の大福は違い、
最初それを知った時はがっかり...(苦笑)。
私達は、このイチゴとマンゴーの2つを購入しました。
本来、イチゴは、見本のように大きなものを
使用するのかもしれませんが、ここでは小さいイチゴ2つが
大福に入っていました。
Big ! However, the sample and the actual Daifuku are different, and when I found about it, I was disappointed ... (Wry Smile). We bought two Daifuku, of this and mango. Originally, strawberry may use a large one like this sample, although two small strawberries were in the Daifuku here. |
接客してくださった店員さんに、"花菱"のことを聞きましたら、彼女は知っていましたし、買って食べたそうです。
「当店と味は違います。食べ比べてみてください」
という返事。
他店をあからさまに非難せず、判断はこちらに任せるという姿勢に
好感を持ちました。
機会があったら、"花菱" でも購入したいと思います。

When I asked the staff who served me about "Hanabishi", she knew it and had bought their Daifuku, ate and said to me,
"The taste was different from our shop. Please try and compare."
I liked her attitude of not criticizing the other shop openly and leaving the decision to me.
If I have a chance, I would like to buy Daifuku in "Hanabishi".

和菓子にもその流れがあるのでしょうか？
何にしても日常とは違う経験は面白いし脳へ良い刺激になります。
Experience-based art is popular in contemporary art.
Is there a trend in Japanese sweets?
Anyway, an experience that is different from everyday life is interesting and a good stimulus to my brain.

二人で半分づつ食べました。
新鮮な味、一度は経験してもいいかなと思います。
手作りでまだ慣れてないせいか、白餡と求肥のハーモニーは
あまり感じられませんでした。
求肥とフルーツの組み合わせは美味しいと思います。
しばらく経ってからまた買ってみたいと思います。
We ate half each. I think it's okay to experience the fresh taste once. I didn't really feel the harmony between Shiroan (white bean paste) and Gyuhi (rice cake), probably because it was handmade and they are not used to it yet. I think the combination of Gyuhi and fruit was delicious. I would like to buy it again after a while. |
