召田 能里子(メスダノリコ / ? -)さんの初めての個展が東京の "T-BOX" でありました。

能里子さんとは、英国留学前に通っていた陶芸教室・'イエロークレイ' で、お会いしました。

能里子さんの陶芸作品は、都会的センスがあり、

ルーシー・リー/ Lucie Rie (1902 -1995)を思わせます。

'イエロークレイ'では、年に一度グループ展を開催し、彼女もそこに参加しています。

彼女はシルクスクリーン作品制作もしていて、これまでにシルクスクリーンのグループ展も定期的に開いています。

私は、'イエロークレイ'のグループ展も彼女のシルクスクリーンのグループ展も、都合が許す限り、伺っています。

能里子さんから届く季節のはがきは、シルクスクリーン作品で素敵!、私は彼女のセンスが好きです。

DMが届いた時から、ぜひ、伺いたいと思いました。

Silkscreen Exhibition

Noriko Mesuda's first solo exhibition was in "T-BOX" in Tokyo.

I met Noriko in a pottery class called 'Yellow Clay' that I attended before I studied in the UK.

Noriko's pottery work has an urban sense and is reminiscent of Lucie Rie (1902 - 1995).

'Yellow Clay' holds their exhibition once a year and Noriko participates in the exhibition.

Noriko is also producing silkscreen works, she joins in group exhibitions of silkscreen prints on a regular basis.

I have visited the group exhibitions of 'Yellow Clay' and her silk screen group exhibitions as far as my circumstances allow.

Noriko's seasonal postcards have been silkscreen works, they are lovely and I like her taste.

I definitely wanted to visit her exhibition since the DM arrived.

会場は、撮影禁止でしたが、
この作品を買わせていただきましたので、
撮影許可をいただきました。

Kana-no-Hikarie 1 : Light Picture of Canna 1
Although photography was prohibited at the venue, 
I bought this work, so I got permission to take a photo.

会場で、今まで、彼女が制作した作品群を見ることができました。

以前、拝見した作品もありましたし、初めて見る作品もありました。

会場で、能理子さんにお会いでき、久しぶりにお話ができたのも嬉しかったです。

作品も能理子さん本人も素敵です。



At the venue, I was able to see the works created by her until now.

There were some works I had seen before, and there were some works I saw for the first time.

I was happy that I could meet Noriko there and talk after a such long time.

Noriko's works and she herself are wonderful.

私とRは、北鎌倉の 'ギャラリー花眠'、"カフェ・門" に行った後、ディナーを予約してある、"ラ・ペクニコヴァ" に向かいました。

ディナーの予約の際に、北鎌倉駅から送迎をお願いをすることはできますが、この日は北鎌倉散策を兼ねていたので、徒歩で向かいました。

そして、いつもなら、"ラ・ペクニコヴァ" に行く際には、自宅からタクシーです。

この日、初めて徒歩で向かいました。

けれども、雨だったのです....。

雨は嫌いではないし、景色もときには、晴れよりもより、鎌倉らしさを思わせてくれますし、緑も美しいです。

ですが、雨の日の撮影となると、私には難しいです。




Kita-kamakura in Rain
After 'Gallery Kamin' and 'Cafe · Mon' in Kita-Kamakura, I and R were going to 
"La Peknikova" where we had a reservation for dinner.

It is possible when booking dinner, that we can ask them to pick us up from Kita-Kamakura Station, however, this day we had plan for a walk in Kita-kamakura, so we went on foot.

And when we go to "La Peknikova" from home, we usually take a taxi.

This day was the first time we visited on foot.

But it was raining .....

I do not dislike rain and rain sometimes makes the greens more beautiful and the scenery 'Very Kamakura', even more than when it is sunny.

However, it is difficult for me to photograph on a rainy day.

一般住宅の玄関前

"ラ・ペクニコヴァ" は山の中 (峠?) にあるので、その道は上り坂であり、

殆どの住宅が傾斜面に建っています。

おしゃれな家や何かしらのこだわりを感じさせる家が
多いという印象を持ちました。

In front of Entrance of General House

Since "La Peknikova" is in the mountain (on mountain pass?) , 

the road is uphill, most of the houses are on the slope.

I had the impression that there are many houses that make you feel 

the owners have their individual tastes.

滑り止めに瓦を使用しています。
時々、庭に瓦をオブジェとして使用しているのは見ますが、
この使い方は初めて見ました。

They use roof tiles for nonslip.
Sometimes I see roof tiles used as objects in gardens, 
although I saw this usage for the first time.

カモ 
畑にいるカモを見るのは、私には珍しいので、撮影。
ここは元は田んぼだったのかもしれません。

Ducks
It is rare for me to see a duck in a field, so I photographed these.
Formerly, here may have been a rice field.

タイル作品が外壁に飾られています。
この家のオーナーさんの作品か、海外の思い出の品か？

Tile work is decoration on the wall.
Is it the work by the owner of this house or a souvenir of overseas memories?

散歩道らしきものが見かけられました。
一般の散歩道ではないかもしれません？

I saw this which looked like a walkway.
Perhaps it might not be open to the public?

キショウブ(黄菖蒲) 
Kishoubu : Iris Pseudacorus : Yellow Flag

キショウブ(黄菖蒲)

アヤメ(菖蒲) かハナショウブ (花菖蒲) か カキツバタ (燕子花 / 杜若) の色違いかと

思いましたが、それらには、黄色系の花がないのだと後になってわかりました。

これは、"キショウブ"(黄菖蒲)"、西アジアからヨーロッパ原産の植物でした。

綺麗に花を咲かせていますが、環境省に「生態系被害防止外来種」に指定され、国内では歓迎されない植物になってしまいました。

セイタカアワダチソウ (背高泡立草) のような存在...セイタカアワダチソウは、私にとっては、あまり良いイメージがないので、悲しい....。

Kishoubu : Iris Pseudacorus : Yellow Flag

I thought they were different colour flowers of Ayame : Iris Sanguinea or

Hanashoubu : Iris Ensata ; Iris ensata var. ensata or Kakitubata : Japanese Iris, however, later I found out that they do not have yellowish flowers.

This is "Kishoubu": "Iris pseudacorus (Yellow flag)" which came from Europe or Western Asia.

Although it is beautifully flowered, it is designated as “Ecosystem Damage Alien Species" by the Ministry of the Environment and it became a plant not welcomed in Japan.

This is like the existence of Solidago Canadensis : Canada Goldenrod in Japan....
for me Solidago Canadensis is not so good an image, so now I feel sad about the yellow Iris.

畑と山の中のおしゃれな家
Fashionable Houses in the Field and Mountain

登りの車道を歩きました。

撮影したい風景もいくつかあったのですが、雨足が早く、撮影する余裕がありませんでした。

"ラ・ペクニコヴァ" に到着したときには、びっしょり濡れていましたし、開店ちょっと前でお店は空いていませんでした (涙!) 。

お店に電話をし、状況を伝えて、特別に開店前にお店へ入れていただきました。

そのうえ、タオルまで貸していただいてしまいました。

"ラ・ペクニコヴァ" さん、ありがとうございました！

We walked on the climbing roadway.

There were some sceneries that I wanted to photograph although it was quite heavy rain

and it was not easy to take photographs.

When we arrived at "La Peknikova", we were soaked and we were there a little before they would open (tears!).

I telephoned the restaurant, told our situation and they let us enter specially before opening.

And also they lent us towels.

Thank you very much for "La Peknikova"!

2) 美味しいお夕飯 / Delicious Dinner
A. 靴 / Shoes 
Rはいつでも革靴ですが、私は、この日、散策のため、スニーカーを履いていました。

ですが、パンプスを持参していたので (ホッ！)、履き替えました。

"ラ・ペクニコヴァ"でディナーをいただくのに、運動靴ではお店に失礼かと思ったから、Rのリュックサックに入れてもらっていました。

R、感謝！


Shoes 
R always  wears leather shoes, but I was wearing trainers for walking on this day.

However, I also brought court shoes (Phew!), I changed my shoes.

In order to have dinner at "La Peknikova", I thought that it would be rude to the restaurant if I wore trainers, so I put my shoes in R's rucksack.

R, thanks!



B. Rへの対応 / Treatment for R
Rは、食べられないものが多いので、多くのレストランが彼に対応ができません。

たとえ、対応を試みてくれていても、彼の食事に何かしら彼の苦手なものが含まれていたり、店内にRの嫌いなにんにくなどの匂いが漂ってしまったりで、外食が非常に難しいです。

また、レストランがRに対処すると、私のお料理まで彼と同じものになってしまい、私はがっかりします。

ですが、ここ、"ラ・ペクニコヴァ"の馬場シェフは、完璧！

Rの誕生日はいつも、ここで食事をし、私の誕生日の食事も殆どここでします。



Treatment for R
Many restaurants cannot treat R's food because R cannot eat many ingredients.

Even if they try to treat for him, there would be problems which something is included in his meal or there are some smells which drifted inside the restaurant which he hates the smell of, for example, garlic, so it is very difficult to use outside restaurants.

And also some restaurants treated him, but my dishes become the same as R and then I am disappointed.

However, here, Baba Chef of "La Peknikova" is perfect!

We have meals here always on R 's birthday and mostly on my birthday.

We usually start with sparkling wine, 
although today we started with white wine.

❷2018年5月7日 北鎌倉 - カフェ・門 / Cafe Mon in Kita-kamakura, 7th of May, 2018

私とRは、'ギャラリー花眠'へ行った日の晩に、北鎌倉のレストラン、
"ラ・ペクニコヴァ" にディナーの予約をしていました。
'ギャラリー花眠'訪問については下記。
2018年5月7日 ❶北鎌倉 - 喜幡恵子個展 / Keiko Kabata Exhibition ...

なので、北鎌倉を離れず、'ギャラリー花眠'の後に、北鎌倉駅南口、駅前の 
"カフェ・門" に行きました。 

南口は、駅としては表口になりますが、北側に鎌倉五山第二位の円覚寺 (エンガクジ) : ★ や、あじさい寺の明月院 (メイゲツイン) などがあるので、観光客の殆どは、裏口の北口を利用、もしくは下車します。

"カフェ・門" を選んだのは、姉が買ったガイドブック : 
『ぴあMook・鎌倉・さんぽ旅』(2017  / ぴあ株式会社) に、
'円覚寺の僧、朝比奈 草原 (アサヒナ ソウゲン / 1891 - 1979/ ★<写真>) の手による書が看板の文字として使用されている'
という内容が載っていたからです(p.68)。

朝比奈草原 僧侶は、水戸黄門、大岡越前などの、時代劇の題字を手がけたことでも知られているとのこと(Wikiより)...そうだったのですね〜...。

正面の屋根(?)に表示されている文字も、この看板の文字。

店構えは、昭和 (1926 -1989)を思わせる風貌だったので、次回は撮影したいです。

The character of this sign is also displayed on the facade.

The Cafe frontage has an appearance reminiscent 
of the Showa Period (1926 -1989), 

So I want to photograph next time.

I and R  had a reservation for dinner at a restaurant,  "La Peknikova" in 
Kita-kamakura on the evening of the day we visited "Gallery Kamin".

2018年5月7日 ❶北鎌倉 - 喜幡恵子個展 / Keiko Kabata Exhibition ...

So, we did not leave Kita-kamakura after "Gallery Kamin", we visited "Cafe · Mon" in front of Kita-kamakura Station South Exit.

'Mon' means Gate in Japanese.

The South Exit is the main entrance of the Station, although from the North Exit side is Engakuji-Temple, the Second of the Kamakura Five Mountain System and Meigetsu-in, ike Ajisai Temple : Hydrangea Temple and so on, so most tourists leave the Station from the Back Exit.

The reason I selected "Cafe · Mon", was because my big sister bought a guide book : 
"Pia Mook ・Kamakura Sanpo Tabi (Walk Trip)" (p.68 / 2017, PIA Corporation) says that 
the cafe's logo was drawn by a Rinzai zen master of Enkakuji-Temple, Sōgen Asahina (1891 - 1979 / his photograph>).

According to Wiki about Sōgen Asahina 
Asahina was also an accomplished calligrapher. Television shows, including Mito Kōmon and Ōoka Echizen, featured his writing in their title screens.

Indeed.

これも朝比奈草原僧侶の文字
書体がかなり違いますね。
私はこちらの方が好きです。

Mon (Gate)
This character was also brushed by Asahina.
The style is quite different.
I prefer this one.

裏窓から / From Rear Window

白鷺池周辺 

円覚寺総門の手前の線路を隔てた踏切の向かいに白鷺池 (ビャクロチ) はあります。

"白鷺池" の名前は、円覚寺開山 僧、無学祖元 (ムガク ソゲン1226 -1286) が

南宋(1127–1279)より鎌倉入りした際に、鶴岡八幡宮の神使が

白鷺 (シラサギ) に身を変えて案内したと言われています。

Around Byakurochi

Byakurochi : Egret Pond is opposite the level crossing

 in front of the main gate of Engakuji Temple.

The name of Byakurochi is said to have come from 

when the Engakuji Temple founder, master Mugaku Sogen (1226 -1286), 
travelled to Kamakura from Southern Song (1127–1279),

guided by a messenger from Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine 
who had transformed into an Egret.

白鷺池は季節によって違う景色で楽しめます。

特に紅葉の時期は素敵だと私は思います。

Byakurochi : Egret Pond can be enjoyed with different scenery depending on the season.

I think that the time of autumn leaves is especially wonderful.

白鷺池にかかる石橋 : "降魔橋 (ゴウマバシ)"

この橋は何度となく渡りましたが、この角度から見るのは初めてでしたし、
このカフェに来ない限り、見ることはできません。

Stone Bridge : "Goma Bridge" over Byakurochi
I had crossed this bridge many times, 
but this was my first time to see it from this angle 

and we cannot see it unless we come to this cafe.

　開業50年以上

表の窓際の席には、さっきまで、高齢の女性のグループがいました。

今は静かな店内...

昭和の時代 (1926 -1989) には、ここはとてもモダンであったのでしょう。
今となっては、古い感じはします。

ですが、それがここの魅力だと思います。

丁寧に維持されているのを感じます。

Over 50 Years Old

There was a group of elderly women in the seats by the front window,

 until a short while ago.

Now the cafe is quiet...

 Here was probably very modern here in the Showa Period (1926 -1989).

For me,now, it is old-fashioned.

  However, I think this is very attractive here.

I feel that it is carefully maintained.

装飾的な木の壁
女性のオーナーさん曰く、今の時代では、作るのが難しいとのこと。
素材的にも、技術的にも...という意味でしょう。
木製品が好きなRは気に入っていました。

Decorative Wooden Wall
The lady owner says that it is difficult to make this wall nowadays.
I think she means about material and technical as well.
R loves wooden products, so he likes this.

門の文字と一緒に看板にデザインされているカップ。
お砂糖のパッケージにも気が使われているように感じます。
私はロイヤルミルクティを飲みました。

The design of this cup is also on the cafe signboard next to the character, 門(mon).
I feel that they also care is for the design of the sugar stick.
I had a cup of royal milk tea.

Rのトーストセットとカフェオレ。
Rが食べられない玉ねぎ、ネギなどを抜いたサラダを作ってくださいました。
ありがとうございました。

R had toast set and cafe au lait
She made salad omitting onions, leeks etc which R cannot eat.
Thank you very much.

Rはこのカフェを気に入って、一人で鎌倉をふらふらするときに、また寄りたいと行っていました。

駅前なので、便利ですので、私はまた行くかもしれません。

けれども、北鎌倉では、まだ行っていないカフェ、レストランが複数あるので、そちらを優先したいと思います。

R likes this cafe, so when he is rambling around Kamakura, he would go back here again.

Here is convenient because it is in front of the station, so I may visit here again.

However, in Kita-kamakura there are a few cafés and restaurants that I haven't visited yet, so I would like to give priority to them.
