"グリーブ・
ストーン・サークル" については下記。
宿泊者(Guest)ではない、ただの観光客(Visitor)は、この門で入場料、大人1一人10£を払い、地図付きの冊子をもらいます。
プライベートガーデンの入場料10€と解釈すれば、妥当に思えます。
高いか安いかの価値は個人の価値観で違いますから....私達にとっては見学10€は妥当、宿泊するには敷居が高い、値段も高い! (笑)
いつか、このようなランクのホテルに泊まる日が来るのでしょうか？？？

広い敷地〜〜！
右上の門(下の写真)から入り、木々と芝の敷地を通って城に到着します。
コング村も載っているので、この全てがホテルのオーナーの敷地ではない
と思います。が、かつてはすべてであったのかもしれません。 A Large Site~~!
Enter from the gate (below) on the upper right and arrive at the castle through trees
and the lawned grounds.
Cong village is also on this map,
but I think that now all of the area is not owned by the owner of the hotel.
However, it may have been in the past.

We looked at "Glebe Stone Circle" on R345 and retuned to backed the R346 and
we were just in front of the gate of Ashford Castle, below.
About "Glebe Stone Circle", below.
For
visitors who are not guests, pay 10 € per person, and we receive a
leaflet within
a map at this gate.
It seems reasonable if it interprets as entrance fee of private garden 10 €.

The
value of whether it is expensive or cheap is different in personal
values .... for us we have a reasonable 10 € a visit, high
thresholds to stay, price is expensive! (Laugh)

観光客の制限が裏面に書かれています。
城内へは入る事はできません。 庭も限定されてはいますが、限定部分が広いので十分楽しめます。

駐車場
宿泊者の車は川を渡って城の前まで行けますが、観光客の車は、この写真右へすすみ、
観光客用の駐車場を使用します。私達はただの観光客なので、その駐車場を使用しました。
Carpark
Guests's cars can cross the river to the front of the castle, but ground visitors's cars proceed to the right of this photograph, and use a carpark for the tourists. We were just visitors, so we used the carpark. |
観光客のための施設
カフェやお土産やさん、トイレなどはここにあります。 藁葺き屋根のコテージは9月限定のレストランのようです。
このレストランも基本的には宿泊者専用のようです。
Facility for Visitors
Here are cafe, souvenirs shop and toilets.
The thatched cottage seems to be a restaurant only in September.
The restaurant also seems to be only for guests.

B. 歴史 / History
ベンジャミン・ギネスは、ギネスの創業者であるアーサー・ギネス (1725
- 1803）の孫です。
1868年、ベンジャミンの息子、アーディローン伯爵1世 / アーサー・エドワード・ギネス/ 1st
Baron Ardilaun / Arthur
Edward Guinness (1840 - 1915)に城は譲られ、彼はネオゴシック様式で、建物を拡張します。
アーディローン伯爵は、私達がアイルランド到着初日に訪れた
'聖スティーヴンス グリーン 公園' / 'St Stephen's Green Park'
をダブリン市民に寄贈しています。
公園の訪問については下記。

1939年、アイルランド政府に売却、その後、ノエル・ハガード / Nouel Huggard (? -?) に売られホテルになりました。
その後、複数の所有者の手をへて売却され、2013年にレッド・カーネーション・ホテル /
Red Carnation Hotel が購入し、修復し、2015年に再営業されています。
13世紀の城は、何度も手を入れられて、現在のホテルになっています。
まあね、現代人が実際の13世紀の城のままでは寛げませんよね。

History
Ashford
Castle was built in 1228 by the
Anglo-Norman House
of Burke,
between County
Mayo and County Galway.
After
then the owners replaced it several times, and then Benjamin
Guinness (1798 -1868) bought Ashford
Castle in 1852.
Benjamin Guinness was a grandson of Arthur Guinness (1725 - 1803), the founder of Guinness.
In
1868, the land was handed over to Benjamin's son, Arthur
Edward Guinness / 1st Baron Ardilaun (1840 -
1915) and he extended the castle in Neo-Gothic style.
1st
Baron Ardilaun donated 'St Stephen's Green Park' to Dublin
citizens where we visited on the day we arrived in Ireland.

The castle was sold to the Irish government in 1939 and was later sold to Nouel Huggard (? -?) and became a hotel.
After
that, it was sold through the hands of multiple owners, purchased by Red Carnation Hotel in 2013, restored and
reopened in 2015.
The castle from the 13th century has been changed considerably to become the hotel.
Well, modern people cannot relax in the actual 13th century castle, can they?

I feel I understand why Americans come here.
They seem to use Shannon Airport.

基本、ここは観光客は入ってはいけない庭ですが、通常に歩く分には誰も文句は

no one complains as long as visitors walk normally.

we are timid, so we just walked around and we did not enter inside.

 ホテルの城と庭 / Hotel and Gardens |
「お城に泊まりた〜い！」という庶民の願いを叶えるべく、1泊するのもお楽しみの一つではあります。
ですが、本来このホテルは1,2泊するというのではなく、比較的長期滞在、少なくとも1週間滞在し、庭を散歩し、テニスやゴルフ、釣り、乗馬などを楽しむ場所なのです。
私達は宿泊もしないただのビジターですけどね (笑) 。

"People
would stay in a castle!", and then it is enjoyable to stay the night to fulfill the wishes of commoners.
Basically
this hotel is not a place to stay for 1 or 2 nights, it is a place to
stay for a relatively long stay, at least a week, take walks in the gardens, enjoy tennis, golf, fishing, horse riding and more.
We were just visitors who did not even stay for one night (Laugh).

| 結婚式！おめでとうございます！ 花婿さんは笑顔を振りまいていました。 花嫁さんはドレスのことでいっぱいいっぱい...それでもにこやかでした。 ここが日本ならスタッフが助けてくれるでしょう、 日本の心配りは'五つ星'より上かな？と、思ってしまいました。 Wedding Ceremony! Congratulations! The bridegroom was spreading smiles. The bride just concentrated on her dress, though she smiled. I thought if here were in Japan, the staff would help her, and Japanese consideration is higher than 'five stars'? 
St Mary of the Rosary Catholic Church, Parish of Cong
修道院の遺跡に隣接する教会で式をあげたように思います。
花嫁さんのブーケと教会のデコレーションの花が同じ系列のデザインでした。
日本では紫陽花はあまり結婚式には使用されませんが
ここでは紫陽花が使用されています。
紫陽花にはいろいろな花言葉があるので、どう解釈するかなのでしょう。
雨でなければ、ホテルの庭で行われたのかもしれません。
I
think they had their wedding ceremony at this church,
adjacent to the ruins of the Abbey.
The
flowers of the bride's bouquet
and the church's decoration were of similar design.
In
Japan, hydrangea is not used for weddings so much,
but hydrangea was used here.
Hydrangea has various flower language meanings,
so it depends on how you interpret it. The wedding might have been held in the hotel garden if it was not raining. |

緑のトンネルを抜けて振り返ると、石のトンネルの入り口が見えます。

雰囲気のある門といい、噴水といい、トンネルといい、飽きさせない工夫が感じられます。

このときは、このホテルに鷹狩りの学校があることも、
鷹狩りが経験できるサービス(有料)があることも
知りませんでした。

この二人は、インストラクターと一緒だっだので、 宿泊客で鷹狩りを経験してるようです。 この二人からも、少年からもブログに載せる許可は得ていませんが、 赦してくださると思っています...。 ありがとう！(勝手に....苦笑) Father and Son?

two were with an instructor,
so the guests seemed to have experienced falcon hunting. I do not have permissions from these two and the boy, although I believe they forgive me. Thank you! |

| 彼は一人だったので、鷹狩り学校の生徒のようです。 未来は鷹匠？ 凛々しい少年です。 He was alone, so he seemed to be a student at the falconry hunting school.

城を出て、コング村の北の橋をとおるときに、ガソリンスタンドによりました。
そのときに、年配の男性二人がカモに餌を与えていた風景を見ました。
Leaving the castle, and before crossing a bridge north of Cong, we went to a petrol station.
At
that time, I saw a scene, two elderly men were feeding the ducks.
