A. 訪問 / Visiting

鎌倉に住まう前から、この工房へ行ってみたいと思っていました。

ようやく実現です。

Before living in Kamakura, I wanted to visit this Studio.

Finally I came here.

B. 版作りへ/ Making a Plate

見学のつもりで訪ねましたが、山梨先生から

「やってみますか？」

と、言われ

「えっ？でも何も用意していませんし何のアイディアもないし……個展後何も描いていないし……」

と、躊躇していましたが、結局やってみることに……。

机の上に栗があったので、それをただ描くことにしました。

Making a Plate

I thought I would just watch them, although Yamanashi teacher asked me

'Would you like to try?'

"Eh? I haven't prepared anything, even any ideas.....

After my exhibition, I haven't drawn anything....."

I hesitated, however, eventually I tried to do.......

I found a chestnut on a desk, so I just drew it.

C. 見学/ Just Watching

版作りはとても複雑で、すべて先生まかせです。

写真は過程のごく一部です。

The process of making a print plate is very complicated, so I depended on the teacher all the time.

The photographs are a small fraction of the process.

私がプレートに描いたよりも、なぜかできがよく見えるのは、先生の技のせいでしょうか？

It looks better than when I drew it on the plate, because it also had the teacher's skill, doesn't it?

D. 黄色 / Yellow

勧められて版作りをしましたが、この日にリトグラフの教室に通う事を決めるつもりはなかったのです。ですが、流れとして月謝を払う形になり、そのうえ、その日も月謝の中にカウントされたので、少々、びっくりしました。でも、まあ、いいかあ〜？

この日は、見学だけと思っていたので、このスタジオ訪問のあとに予定をいれてしまっていました。なので、版を作ったのみでこの日は終了。

先生からお土産に栗をいただき、家でゆでました。ゆでた栗は黄色で美味しそうでした。実際美味しかったです。ごちそうさまでした。そしてその美味しそうな黄色を自分の栗の作品に使用したいと思いました。

Yellow

I did not think I would join the studio as a pupil on the day, even though I was invited to try making the print plate. However,I could not be in defiance of paying the monthly money, including today. So I was a little bit surprised. Well all right!

I thought I would just visit and watch, so I had other plans for after here. I must go after making the plate.

The teacher gave me some chestnuts, later I made boiled them. The yellow of the boiled chestnuts looked so delicious and they were! Thank you very much!

Then I had an idea for my print work of the chestnuts,

I would use the delicious yellow colour for the background of the work.

2)刷る/ Print

本日も、先生に任せきり。自分は版にバックの形を描くだけです。

I depended on the teacher again for everything. I just drew an abstract form of the back of a chestnut.

バックが刷れました。

The background was printed.

ワ〜〜イ！初めてのリトグラフの作品です！嬉しい！

Whee! It is my first lithograph work! I am so glad!
