二人とも素敵な小物作りやその他のものづくりをして、時折、
二人展を関西で開いているようです。

Meeting at a cap shop
I met Umi chan and Chi chan who used to work in the art department in F company, and they were both senior to me.

Both are engaged in producing lovely crafts.
Occasionally they have exhibitions in Kansai.

二人のお気に入りの La Coppola Storta (ラ•コッポラ•ストルタ) です。
'コッポラとはシチリア伝統の帽子。帽子はすべてシチリアの女性による手作り' (お店の説明の要約）
19世紀初め、ベレー帽にシチリアの農民が庇 (ひさし)をつけて、
コッポラになったとわいれています。

また一方では18世紀に英国海軍によって、当時イングランド北部の田舎で使用されていた、
フラットキャップ/ Flat Cap (ハンチング帽) が伝えられ、
20世紀初めに、ドライビングキャップ / driving capと呼ばれ、
シチリアでも常用されるようになり、それがコッポラになったという説もあります。

いずれにしても現在では、コッポラはシチリア人 の伝統的 (シチリア魂？の) シンボルとなっているようです。
因に日本でこの形の帽子は、鳥打帽 (とりうちぼう) と呼ばれましたが、最近ではあまり聞きませんね。

また、ベレー帽の発祥の地は、バスク地方またはバスク国 (フランス、スペイン間にあるピネレー山脈周辺)と言われ、彼らの民族衣装であったようです。
でもお隣のベアルヌ (Bèarn) 地方であるとも言われています。

B. 二人のシチリア人?

Chiちゃん、カワイイブーツを大人として着こなしています！
彼女の語り口調は非常に情熱的！思いがひしひしとこちらへ伝わり、その純粋さにも感動します。
家庭をもちつつ、いろいろな事にチャンレンジしています。
数多くの料理上手が日本にはいますが、時々写真で見せてもらう彼女の料理はきれいでありつつも、アートを感じさせます。

青のコッポラは今日のファッションの主役。
青は彼女の大好きな色?
彼女はイタリア留学もし、イタリアをとても愛しています。
今は、専門学校の先生です。
本格的なマラソン走者、でも時にはコスチューム (例えば人魚) などで走ったりしてしまうおちゃらけさもあります。
さすが関西人というべきか……

変装？して走るのは着ぐるみを着て走るのと同じで、実はとっても大変なのだそうです。

Two Sicilians?

Her speaking is very fervent, so her feelings or information are transmitted and also it shows a genuine mind which leaves a deep impression upon me.
She has kept her family, try to many different things.
In Japan, there are a huge number of good cooks, although sometimes when I looked at photographs of her dishes I felt that her cooking is not only beautiful but also it is art.
Right : Umi chan, her coppola is the highlight of her outfit and the colour is her favourite.
Umi chan went to study in Italy and loves the country so much.
Now she is a teacher in a vocational school. And also she is a serious marathon runner.
However, sometimes she runs as well as wears costumes, for example mermaid one.
She has humor, hasn't she? She must come from Kansai or Liverpool?
However, I heard running with costume much harder than normal, because it is similar to wearing cartoon-character costume.
Big sigh~~~
Centre : a small dog is an ornament with his cap. Apparently, in Sicily some dogs wear a coppola. Well, sometimes we see a dog wears costume in Japan, too.

there was the maker in ' Itou Studio'.

私の好きな世界がこの工房にありそうな気がしました。
残念ながらお店は閉まっていたのです。次回はぜひ中へ入りたい！
