ブロンテ姉妹が住んでいた (1820 ~ 1861) 牧師館は、現在では美術館になっています。
庭をはさんで彼女らの父親の職場であった教会、墓地があります。
館内撮影はいっさい禁止なので館内の写真はありません。

When we visited here, a steam train was having a test run.

When we returned to the car park, we saw children.
They looked as though they were deciding the rules of a game.
The girl is lovely in a red football uniform.

I have read Manga : comic of Charlotte's "Jane Eyre", seen some films, and I don't know anything of Ann's work.
Therefore while I looked around the display in the museum, I was just thinking of Emily and

The atmosphere in front of the church, and behind the church felt very different, like a sunny spot and dark shadow.
The area around the photograph is a shopping area, there are cafes, tourist shops and others.

Their father worked for the church and churchyard in front of their garden.

という記事を読んだそうです。
私は現地では、その事を知りませんでした。
現在牧師館の裏はのんびりとした風景でした (上の写真参照)。
もしも私がその事を知っていたら、私はそこへは行かなかったでしょう。
Wikipediaには日本にはたくさんのブロンテ姉妹の'おたく'がいると
書かれていました。
この地を離れたあとで、Rから英国のニュースで、
「'ここの庭から日本人の骨がいくつか発見された'
と報道された」
と聞き、驚きました。
これらの骨はブロンテ作品、または作家のファン達のものだそうです。

After leaving Haworth, I heard from R that a radio program said that they had found a few fragments of Japanese bones in the Museum Garden, so I was very surprised.

Tabitha Aykrod had worked for the family for 30 years old.
When I was there, I recalled Nelly Dean of "Wuthering Heights".
In 'Charlotte's Room', there are her clothes and shoes.

I could easily imagine a female's fragile neck and ankles, so it was too vivid for me.

I think the Brontës museum has a special atmosphere.
In addtion they keep it fairly dark inside and it might protect things.

とあるので、この家が、この環境が彼女にあのような作品
(ゴシック小説とも言われる)を書かせたのだとスタッフは考えているのでしょう。

I could say the thought is not only mine, but also many other people have a similar impression about there.

1991年出版の本の中の写真(上)と、
2010年7月、私が撮影した写真(下)は、ほぼ似たような状態です。 街の景観は観光地としてよく維持されているように思えました。 またハワースが長い間観光地であることもわかります。 Below photographs : from a book of 1991 (top), and a photograph I took in July 2010 (bottom), are similar. I think it has kept well as a sightseeing area.

この道沿いに商店が続いています。
玉石 (自然石：cobblestone) を敷いて舗装した道は
コブルド(cobbled)と呼ばれ、中心地の真ん中を走っています。
一度ここを車で通過した時はとてもがたがたとして、
グランパ (Rの車)に何かおきるのではないかと心配しました。 Here is a street full of shops. The street is paved with cobblestones, it is called cobbled.
The street runs through the centre of Haworth.
When we drove along here once, I worried about Grandpa : R' car, because the road was very bumpy.
