1) 世田谷美術館 / Setagaya Art Museum
最寄りに電車の駅がないので、徒歩、バス、車でのアクセスになり、鎌倉在住の私にとっては、行きづらい場所にあります。
今日は、今年の個展の来場者、Mさんからいただいたチケットの
ピーターラビット展を見に、夫R、私の姉Yと、この美術館にきました。

Setagaya Art Museum
The Setagaya Art Museum : ★ is located in Kinuta Park : ★.
Since there is no train station nearby, access is by foot, bus, or car, so it is a difficult place for me, who lives in Kamakura.
Today, I came to this Museum to see the Peter Rabbit Exhibition with my husband R and my older sister Y, on a ticket I was given from
a visitor, M San to my exhibition this year.

会場内がほぼ撮影禁止でした。
なので、主にチケット、パンフレットなどの紙類の画像、他のサイトからの画像を載せます。

"今も世界中で愛され続けるいたずら好きなうさぎ、ピーターラビット。
英国の作家ビアトリクス・ポターが、病気で寝込んだ幼い男の子のためペットのうさぎをモデルとして描いた絵手紙に始まる物語は、1902年の初出版以来多くの人々にゆかいな夢を与えてきました。
本展では、『ピーターラビットのおはなし』誕生の背景や物語の世界を、英国外初公開を含むオリジナル原画などにより紹介し、愛らしいうさぎの120回めのお誕生日をお祝いします。"

Photography was strictly prohibited in the venue.
So, I mainly show images of papers such as tickets and pamphlets, and images from other sites.
According to the Museum website,
"Even today, Peter Rabbit, the mischievous bunny, remains a beloved character all over the world.
Originally created as an illustrated letter by the English author Beatrix Potter.
The Tale of Peter Rabbit was intended to cheer up a young boy who was confined to bed by illness.
Since it was first published in 1902, the story has been a source of sweet dreams for many people.
This exhibition, celebrating the book’s 120th anniversary, presents Potter’s sketches of bunnies that predate Peter Rabbit as well as her private editions, rough drafts, original illustrations, and a variety of other items related to her ideas."

| 作品目録 この展覧会の最重要ポイントは、 '英国外初公開を含むオリジナル原画' だと思います。 ('オリジナル原画'という言葉に違和感がありますが、 そのようにサイトでは書かれています) その原画の著作権を守るべく、会場での撮影は 禁止されていたのでしょう。 Work List I think the most important point of this exhibition is 'original drawings included in the first publication outside Britain' which is explained on Japanese website. (translated by me) In order to protect the copyright of the original drawings, so probably, photography in the venue was prohibited.  |

| 第一章から第二章の間 'これからお話の世界に入りますよ〜' という告知を門の中へ入るピーターで表現している のだと思います。 撮影はOKですが、ビデオ撮影は禁止です。 Between Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 I think that the announcement of 'You are about to enter the world of stories' is expressed by Peter entering the gate.  ピーターのお尻がもぞもぞ動きます。 白い尻尾を強調してますね。 Peter's backside wiggles. | 第二章 : ピーターラビットのおはなし 『ピーターラビットのおはなし』の一場面(下)を 立体に体現しています。 ピーター・ラビットの世界を愛する人が このような模造物を好むかわかりません。 ですが、撮影禁止のイベントとしては、 撮影可能な場所が必要なのでしょう。 また、小さな作品群ではまかないきれないスペースを 埋めるためにも必要なのでしょう。 Chapter 2 : The Tale of Peter Rabbit A three-dimensional representation of a scene, below from "The Tale of Peter Rabbit". I don't know if anyone who loves the world of Peter Rabbit would like an imitation like this. However, as an event where photography is prohibited, there must be a place where photography is possible. 現在では、強烈な刺激をつぎつぎ与える媒体があり、これらは人間をハイな状態にもって行きます。
ですが、ポターの手描きの繊細なラインは、静かにゆっくりと私の心に入ってきて、精神を落ち着かせてくれます。
精神も浄化してくれるような絵が、とても新鮮に感じられました。

Today, there are intensely stimulating mediums that excite people.
But Potter's hand-painted delicate lines quietly and slowly enter my mind and calm my spirit.
Her drawings purify my spirit, this was very refreshing.

第四章 : 広がるピーターラビットの世界 120周年を祝う、大きなお誕生日ケーキが作られています。 これを作者のポターが喜ぶかは疑問ですが.... これは明らかに、'見せ物'になっていて繊細な絵本の世界とは 違うセンスがあります。 原画の著作権を撮影禁止して守ろうという姿勢と この見せ物感覚がチグハグに感じられました。 Chapter 4 : The Expanding World of Peter Rabbit A big birthday cake scene is made to celebrate the 120th anniversary. I doubt the author Potter would be happy with this... This is clearly a 'Spectacle' and has a different sense from the delicate world of picture books. The attitude of protecting the copyright of the original illustrations by prohibiting photography and this sense of spectacle felt inconsistent. .jpeg) |

さまざまなもの、例えばカップや洋服などに 絵柄が使用されています。 Her pictures are used on various things, such as cups and clothes. |
ミュージアム・ショップには、たくさんのピーター・ラビット・グッズが販売されていました。
驚くことに、ショップ内も撮影禁止でした。
絵本のピーターラビットの世界に入ると、心穏やかになります。
静かな田園地帯を眺めて、心が安らぐのと似たような気持ちです。
なので、ドタバタした映画や巨大な模造品に囲まれる場所とは違うように感じます。
私が思うピーターラビットの世界がオールドファッションなのかもしれませんが、そもそも、ピーターラビットの世界はオールドファッションなのではないでしょうか？
そしてその雰囲気はどの時代にもある一定数のファンを作ってゆくのだと思います。
この展覧会を楽しみましたが、それ以外にもいろいろ考えさせられ、面白い展覧会だったと思います。

A lot of Peter Rabbit goods were sold in the museum shop.
Surprisingly, photography was prohibited inside the shop.
When I enter the world of the Peter Rabbit picture book, I feel calm.
It's a similar feeling to looking at quiet countryside and having peace of mind.
So it feels different than a place surrounded by slapstick films and giant imitations.
My world of Peter Rabbit that I think of may be old-fashioned, but isn't the world of Peter Rabbit an old-fashioned one in the first place?
And I think that atmosphere will create a certain number of fans in any era.
I enjoyed this exhibition, and for me, it was an interesting exhibition that made me think about many other things.
