　A. 3月17日 / 17th of March

4月の個展のためのポストカード3点を制作しました。

デザインは、DM同様にデザイナーの友人Rieさんにお願いしました。

3月17日に、1点目、'ブルームーン(青い月)' のポストカードが到着しました。

実際の作品よりも良く見えることは、いいことなのか、よくないことなのかわかりませんが、カードはとてもきれいにできました。

表面はリトグラフ作品、宛名面はリトグラフと磁器作品を元に
デザインしてもらいました。

Blue Moon Postcard
The front design is based on my lithograph work,
and the address side is based on lithograph and porcelain works.

17th of March

I had 3 postcards made for my exhibition in April.

As with invitation card for the exhibition, I asked my designer friend, Rie to design them.

The first postcard ; 'Blue Moon' arrived on 17th March.

I don't know if it's good or bad to look better than the actual work, but the card is very beautiful.

B. 祝杯 / Celebratory Drink

祝杯
夫Rが全て準備してくれました。
ポストカードが届いたお祝いをしました。
ポストカードを作ったのは、5年ぶりでした。
そのカードのタイトルが、'ブルームーン'であったことが
面白い偶然に感じました。
英語でまれに起きることを
"ワンス・イン・ブルームーン/ Once in a Blue Moon"
という慣用句があるのです。

Celebration

My husband R prepared everything.

We celebrated the arrival of the postcard.

This was the first time in five years that I had made a postcard.

It was an interesting coincidence that 

the title of the card was 'Blue Moon'.

In English, there is an idiom, "Once in a Blue Moon",

describing something that rarely happens.

3月17日に、2点目、'山と月' のポストカードが到着しました。

On 17th of March, the second postcard, 'Mountains and Moons', arrived.

'山と月' 
表面と宛名面の地の色を変えました。
表面はリトグラフ作品の月と磁器作品の月、オブジェが
使用されています。
宛名面はリトグラフ作品が使用されています。

'Mountains and Moons'
I changed the colour of the backgrounds on both sides.
Lithograph work is used for the address side.

3点目の到着を楽しみに待っています。

I am looking forward to the arrival of the third postcard.

2) フルーツサラダ / Fruit Salad

最近Rは、頻繁にフルーツサラダを作っています。

ブログにも、よく紹介するようになりました、

ですが、私は、彼のフルーツサラダの全てを撮影することができません。

また、撮影したとしてもその全てをブログに載せてもいません。

彼への 'ありがとう' は、そうしたフルーツサラダへの感謝も含まれています。

いつもありがとう！

マイムマイム
私が子供の頃は、'マイムマイム' というダンスをしました。
今の子供達はするのでしょうか？
そういえば、私のオブジェ作品で
"マイムマイム"というタイトルがありました。

Recently, R frequently makes fruit salads.

I often introduce them on my blog.

However, I can't photograph all of his fruit salads.

Also, even if I photograph it, I haven't posted all of them on my blog.

ロマンチックな気持ちにしてくれます。
It makes me feel romantic.

フラッシュと使用すると桜がはっきり写ります。
ですが、雰囲気は飛んでしまうように思います。

When used with a flash, the cherry blossoms are clearly visible.
However, I think the atmosphere flys away.

小鳥の姿を見るのが最も多いのが、朝です。

朝は、多くの鳥がお腹を空かせていて、腹ごしらえに飛び回っているように感じます。

The most common time for me to see birds is in the morning.

In the morning, many birds are hungry and I feel like they are flying around to stoke up for their day.

メジロ
桜の季節には、メジロ (目白・繍眼児) が頻繁にやってきます。
動きが早くて私にはその姿を写真にはっきりと、
とらえることができません。
ここでの写真は窓越しに撮っています。

Japanese White-eye : Warbling White-eye

Japanese White-eye (Warbling White-eye / Mejiro in Japanese) frequently come during the cherry blossom season.

The movement is so fast that I can't catch it in my photograph.

メジロを見ていたら、コゲラ (小啄木鳥) もやってきました。

こちらもすばしっこくて、姿をなかなかとらえられません。

今日は私が心身ともに疲れていました。

制作後にお風呂へ入り、ベッドに横になると、もう、ベッドから出ることができませんでした。

ホワイトディ用にワインを用意していました。

夫Rがそのワインといちご、スナックを寝室まで運んでくれました。

I was tired both physically and mentally today.

When I took a bath after working and lay down on the bed, I couldn't get out of bed anymore.

I had prepared a wine for White Day.

My husband R brought the wine, strawberry and snacks to the bedroom.

Rのおかげで、'ホワイトディ' のお祝いができました。
いつもありがとう！

Former Teacher Passed on 18th of January 

2月末に、友人のKiちゃんからのメールで、秋山 孝 (アキヤマ タカシ/ 1952 -  2022: ★/ ★/ ★ ) 先生が今年の1月18日に亡くなったことを知りました。

心ばかりのお花を奥様のHさんに送らせていただきました。

私は高校3年の時に秋山先生と奥様のHさんに会い、お二人のご自宅へ伺い、美大入学のため教えを受けました。

受験のテクニックだけでなく、アートの歴史やアートに対する思考もお聞きしました。

当時先生はカリカチュアの研究をされたいらっしゃったようでその方面の海外の雑誌やアーティストも教えていただきました。

先生から

「大学に入った後も、アートの世界は、果てしなく広がっているんだよ」

「人は、'才能がない'と嘆くけれど、それを本当に嘆くことができるのは、99%の努力をした後のこと。

多くの人は '99%の努力'をしないと僕は思うんだよね。

まあ、逆に言うと、努力できる人間が才能があるってことなんだよ」

と、受験期に言われたことを今でも覚えています。

今の私のアートに対する根本的な考えは、秋山先生の教えが基礎になっていると思います。

大学合格後も、個人的に教えを受けました。

卒業後、先生に会う機会がほとんどありませんでした。

最後にお会いしたのは、英国留学前の2003年の個展に先生がいらしてくださった時でした。

その時、先生は多摩美術大学の教授になられていました。

私が個展の記録本を送った時、先生から電話をくださりました。

それが先生の声を聞いた最後でした。

3月14日、今日、Hさんにから、手紙と他のものが届きました。

その中に、先生の版画作品が含まれていたことは、嬉しい驚きでした。

Hさん、ありがとうございました。

秋山先生のご冥福をお祈りいたします。

 Akiyama Sensei, thank you for opening the way for my art.

Former Teacher Passed on 18th of January

At the end of February, I learned from an email from my friend Ki-chan that Takashi Akiyama (1952 - 2022 : ★/ ★/ ★) died on January 18th of this year.

I sent my heartfelt flowers to his wife, H San.

When I was in my third year of high school, I met Akiyama Sensei and his wife, H San, visited their home, and they taught me, for entry exams of art university.

I heard it was not only about the technique of taking an examination, but also about the history of art and his thoughts on art.

At that time, Akiyama Sensei seemed to study caricature, and he also showed me overseas magazines and explained about artists in that area.

From the teacher,

"Even after entering university, the world of art is endlessly expanding."

"People lament that they do 'not have talent', but they can really lament it only after 99% of their efforts.

I don't think many people make '99% effort'.

Well, to put it the other way around, it means that people who can make an effort are talented. "

I still remember what I was told during the exam period.

I think my fundamental ideas about art are based on the teachings of Akiyama Sensei.

Even after passing the university entry exam, I was taught personally.

After graduating, I had few chances to meet him.

The last time I met was when he visited my exhibition in 2003 before studying in Britain.

At that time, he was a professor in Tama Art University.

When I sent him the record book of my recent exhibition, he called me.

That was the last time I heard his voice.

Today on 14th of March, I received a letter and other things from H San.

I had a pleasant surprise, that she included prints by him.

Thank you very much, H San.

I pray for the soul of Akiyama Sensei  : Professor Akiyama.

Uguisu is Japanese Bush Warbler 

鶯の姿を探してカメラが手ぶれのように動きます。

結局、姿は撮影できませんでした。

The film is moving looking for the appearance of Uguisu,

you might feel the moving is like a camera shake 

After all, I couldn't catch them.

朝の光を浴びて
さくらんぼの木、桜桃 (オウトウ) が咲きました。
咲いたと思うとすぐに散ってしまう花です。

In the Morning Light

A cherry tree has bloomed.

They are flowers that scatter as soon as I think it has bloomed.

朝の光は赤みを帯びています。

実際の花の色よりもピンクがかっています。

The morning light is reddish.

It is more pinkish than the actual flower colour.

夜、桜は、幻想的なsceneryを作ります。

Cherry Blossoms and the Hazy Moon
At night, the cherry blossoms create a fantastic scenery.

手ぶれの写真
なかなか、素敵な雰囲気が伝わる写真が撮れません。
この手ぶれの写真が最もその雰囲気に近いように感じます。

It's hard to take pictures that convey a wonderful atmosphere.

I feel that this camera shake photograph is the closest to that atmosphere.　

フラッシュ
私は撮影の際、フラッシュを使用することは稀です。
ですが、今回はフラッシュを使用、ようやく花が
はっきり撮れました。

3月1日の朝、今年初めて鶯の声を聞きました。

それも練習中の中途半端なフレーズでなく、正式の♪ホーホケキョ♪

その後何度か聞きましたが、録音しようとするといなくなってしまうか、黙ってしまいます。

なぜわかるのかしら？と不思議に思います。

本日、3月10日にようやく録音できました。

窯が作動していたので、その音、機械音も入ってしまいますが、ここに載せます。

On the morning, 1st of March, I heard Uguisu's song : Japanese Bush Warbler's song for the first time this year.

It was not a half-hearted phrase during practice, but a formal

♪Hooo-hokekyo♪

I've heard it several times after that, but when I try to record it, it disappears or it is silent.

Why, do they know? I wonder.

Today I was finally able to record, on 10th of March.

Since the kiln was operating, the sound, mechanical noise is included, but I show it here anyway.

3) お花見の季節 / Ohanami Season 

A. 桜桃/ Cherry Tree

さくらんぼの木、桜桃 (オウトウ) の花が咲きました。

今年もさくらんぼの実は、リスや鳥たちに食べられて
私達の口には入らないでしょう。

This year too, the cherries will be eaten by squirrels and birds and
will not reach our mouths.

B. 鉢植え / Potted Plant

撮影は、3月12日です。

マーガレット
葉は元気はないけれど、濃いピンクの花が
たくさん咲き始めました。

 Marguerite
The leaves are not healthy,
but many dark pink flowers have begun to bloom.

ますます伸びて
葉牡丹はますます伸びてゆきます。
通常の形態も面白いですが、のっぼてゆく姿にも
興味をそそられます。

Growing Taller and Taller 
Ornamental Kales grow taller and taller.
The normal form is interesting,
but it is also intriguing to see how it goes up.

C. 地植え / Ground Planting

'冬に咲く花'として購入した、パンジーの苗を地植えにもしました。

謳い文句通りに、冬の間、咲いていました。

暖かくなると、しっかりと大きな花が咲き、冬よりも春の方が好きなのだな〜と感じます。

冬は無理やり咲いていたようです。

頑張って咲いてくれて、寂しい庭を明るくしてくれて、ありがとう！

これからは、気持ちよく自由に咲いてください。

Ground Planting

We also planted pansy seedlings that we bought as 'flowers that bloom in winter'.

They were in bloom during the winter, as the 'catchword' says.

When they get warmer, big flowers bloom strongly, and I feel that they like spring more than winter.

It seemed that they were forcibly blooming in winter.

Thank you for your hard blooming and brightening the sad garden!

From now on, please feel free to bloom.

3) お隣の新しい花 / New Flowers Next-door

牡丹
お隣の庭の真ん中に、立派な牡丹 (ボタン) が植えられていました。
基本、立派な日本庭園なので、この'花壇'は、
邪道なのかもしれません。
が、豪華な花たちが気持ちを明るくするのは確かです。
この花壇を作る気持ちはよ〜く理解できます。
また、私も楽しめるので嬉しい！

Peony

Fine Peonies are planted in the middle of the garden next-door.

Basically, it is a splendid Japanese garden, 

so this 'flowerbed' may be out of place.

However, it is certain that the gorgeous flowers

 brighten their feelings.

I can understand the feeling of making this flowerbed.

Also, I'm happy because I can enjoy them too!
