1) 霧 / Fog

霧が深い朝
霧が深く驚きました。
通常なら見える七里ヶ浜の家々が何も見えません。
こういう深い霧を見ると、バースを思い出します。
私が留学した大学は英国のバースにあり、
私は丘の上に住んでいました。
バースは丘に囲まれているので霧がかかると
霧はバースをおおい、ドラゴンが寝そべって
いるような形に見えました。
また、朝登校する際に霧が深いと、
違う時代へ迷い込んだ気持ちになりました。
学生時代はいろいろ辛かったけれど、
バースの街は素敵で大家さんや近所の方々は優しく、
そこに住んだことは素晴らしい経験でした。

Foggy Morning

I was surprised by the dense morning fog.

I can't see any of the houses in Shichirigahama that

 I would normally see.

Seeing such a dense fog reminds me of Bath.

 I studied in university in Bath and I lived on a hill.

Bath is surrounded by hills, so when it gets foggy,

 the fog covers the city and looked like a dragon lying down.

Also, when I walked to the university in the morning and 

the fog was deep, I felt lost in a different era.

My time was hard when I was a student, but Bath was lovely,

 my landlord and neighbours were kind, 

and living there was a wonderful experience.

霧の中で鶯の声がよくしていました。

早朝の空
雲海を思わせます。
私にはドラゴンがいるように思えて仕方ありません。

Early Morning Sky

It reminds me of a sea of clouds.

I can't help but think there is a dragon.

2) コジュケイ/Chinese Bamboo Partridge

A. 1階から / From Ground Floor

今年初めて
夫Rがコジュケイが庭に来ていることを教えてくれました。
今年初めて庭でコジュケイを見ました。

For the First Time This Year
 My husband R told me that a Chinese Bamboo Partridge 
was coming to our garden.
I saw a Chinese Bamboo Partridge in our garden
 for the first time this year.

なかなか全体の姿が撮影できません。

コジュケイは上手に隠れています。

撮影を気づかれてしまったのかもしれません。

It's hard to photograph the whole figure.

The Chinese Bamboo Partridge is well hidden.

It may have noticed the photographing.

B. 2階から / From First Floor

コジュケイに警戒されたようで、姿が見えなくなってしまいました。

2階へ移動して庭をみると、デッキの影にいました。

ガラス越しに撮影したので、写真が曇ってます。

The Chinese Bamboo Partridge seemed to be wary and disappeared.

When I moved to the first floor and looked at the garden, he was in the shadow of the deck.

Photographs are cloudy because I took them through the glass.

さえずり

'サントリーの鳥百科'では、鳥のさえずりを聞くことができます。
それで、コジュケイの声を聞いてみたら、
日常、よく聞いている声でした。
鳴いている姿を見たことがないので、'あの声'と
コジュケイが結びつきませんでした。
次回、あの声がしたら、
「ああ、コジュケイの声」
と認識できます。

 Twittering

At 'Suntory's Bird Encyclopedia', you can hear birdsongs.

 I listened to the voice of a bamboo partridge, 

it was a twittering I often hear in my daily life.

I haven't seen this bird twittering, 

so I couldn't connect 'that voice' to the bamboo partridge.

Next time, when I hear 'that voice'

"Oh, the voice of the bamboo partridge"

I can recognize.

花のブローチ / Flower Brooch

カップル
2羽いました！
カップルだと思いますが雌雄の違いはわかりません。

Couple
There were two!
I think it's a couple, but I don't know
the difference between male and female.

ねぐらのある方へ帰ってゆきます。
They go back to the roost.

近いうちに、家族づれでやってくるように思います。
子供を見せに来てほしい....

I think they will come with their family in the near future.
I hope you will show me your children ...

膨羽
羽を膨らませることを '膨羽 (ボウウ）'と呼ぶと知りました。
体温を維持するためにする行為なのだそうです。

Ruffling
 It is ruffling its feathers which is called 'Bouu: 膨羽' in Japanese.
It seems that it is an act to maintain body temperature.

1) ハーキュリー / Hercules

ハーキュリーまたはスーパーハーキュリー
(5月12日 )
最近私が気がついただけなのか、
最近よく飛び始めたのかわかりませんが、
ハーキュリー (輸送機)は鎌倉の空を飛んでます。
時々複数機飛んでいるので、
”何か、起こっているのかな〜" と不安になります。
自衛隊機なのか米機なのかは、この写真からではわかりません。
ちなみに、日本は、原型のハーキュー130は持っていますが、
新型のスーパーハーキュリー130 (C- 130J) は
持っていません。

Hercules or Super Hercules

(12th of May)

I don't know if I just noticed it recently or 

if Hercules (transport aircraft) started flying a lot recently, 

but one or more fly over Kamakura.

Sometimes multiple planes are flying, 

so I'm worried that something is happening.

It is not clear from this photograph 

whether it is a Self-Defense Forces aircraft or a US aircraft.

By the way Japan only has the early version Hercules 130, 

but no new type, Lockheed Martin C-130J Super Hercules.

夫Rはよくフルーツサラダをつくってくれます。
近頃は私がタイトルをつけます。
これはタイトルが思い浮かびません。
R、 何を思って作ったの？

始まり
空を見上げることが好き！
特に朝は！
その日が明けてくるのと新しい自分が始まるのが
同時に感じられます。

Beginning

I like looking up at the sky!

Especially in the morning!

I can feel that at the same time as the day comes, 

my new self begins.

ドラゴンがお腹を見せて空を泳いでいるように
見えました。

It looked like a dragon shows its front and 

swims in the sky.

雲の流れが早く、心を奪われました。

写真左下から右上に動いていました。

The clouds flowed fast and I was fascinated.

They were moving from the lower left to 

the upper right of the photograph.

この写真をA4にプリントしました。
このイメージから直接作品を作るというよりも
自分の無意識が影響を受けるのです。

I printed this photograph on A4 
to create an image ready for my next Exhibition.
Rather than making a work directly from this image,
my unconscious can be influenced.

1) 鎌倉図書館へ / Go To Kamakura Library 

様々な用事を片付けに夫Rとともに外出しました。

その1つが鎌倉図書館に予約していた本を借りに行くことでした。

随分前に予約していたので、予約したことも、予約した本も覚えていませんでした。

今年は、'読んでいない本の山' を崩すことを目指していたので、予約本の存在は、正直、煩わしく感じました。

ということは、予約は昨年だったのです。

(出版年が昨年でした）

まあ、とりあえずどんな本を予約したのかを確かめに行きました。

カウンターでその本を受け取ったとき、全く記憶にない本、私の趣味とはかけ離れた本、

『シン・ニホン 』

[著：安宅 和人 (アタカ カズト / ? ~) / ニューズピックス/2020]

でした。

本をリュックに入れつつ、

"なぜこれを予約したの？"

"これ、私に読めるかしら？"

"新しい領域の本に挑戦するのは良い事だけれど、私にはハードルが高すぎるように感じる"

などなど、不安な気持ちを抱きました。

とにかく、家には持ち帰りましたが (まだ？) 読み始めていません。

私の前には、読んで読んで！という本達が行列を作っていて、この本はその列には加わっていないのです。

Go To Kamakura Library 

I went out to carry out various errands with my husband R.

One of them was to go to the Kamakura Library to borrow a book 

I had reserved.

I made a reservation a long time ago, so I didn't remember the reservation as well as the book.

This year, I am aiming to break the my "Mountain of Unread Books', so the existence of reserved books was honestly annoying.

So maybe the reservation was last year.

(The year of publication was last year)

Well, I went to see what kind of book I had reserved.

When I received the book at the counter, I didn't remember the book at all and the book was "Shin Nihon", above.

While putting the book in my rucksack, I wondered 

"Why did I book this?"

"Can I read this?"

"It's good to try books in new areas, but I felt uneasy, wondering if the hurdles were too high for me."

Anyway, I took it home but haven't started reading (yet?).

In front me, there is queue of books which say 

Read me !

Read me!

and the library book is not in that queue.

2) 図書館周辺 / Around Library

A. レストランの花 / Restaurant's Flowers

鎌倉図書館へ向かう道に、"サラマンジェ ド ヨシノ" : ★ という、

フレンチ・レストランがあります。

建物が三角屋根で、古き好き時代風の趣があります。

素敵な家だな〜と思っていました。

一般の家でしたがいつの頃からかレストランに変わっていました。 

この日の撮影は全てi-phoneを使用しています。

シャクナゲ
シャクナゲ (石楠花、石南花)はたくさんの種類があります。
私には、これがどの品種になるのかわかりません。

There are many species of Rhododendron subg Hymenanthes.

I don't know what kind this is.

Restaurant's Flowers

On the way to the Kamakura Library, there is a French restaurant called "Salle à manger deYoshino": ★.

The building has a triangular roof and has a 'good old days' 

atmosphere.

I thought it was a nice house.

It was an ordinary house, but it was turned into a restaurant sometime ago.

I used my i-phone for all the photographing on this day.

ナスターシャム
ナスターシャム (ナスタチウム / キンレンカ : 金蓮花) は
英国で知った植物でした。
留学中に住んだ家の庭一面にこの花が咲いたことがあり、
この花を見かけるとその庭とオーナーのTを懐かしく思います。
ナスターシャムは食用の植物なので、
レストランの玄関に合っていると感じます。

Nasturtium 

Nasturtium (Garden Nasturtium / Indian Cress) was

 a plant I knew in Britain.

Nasturtiums had bloomed all over the garden of the house

 I lived in while studying abroad, and when I see this flower, 

I miss the garden and the owner T.

Nasturtium is an edible plant, 

so I feel it suits the front door of a restaurant.

チャイブでしょうか？
花は、'葱坊主' (ネギボウズ) とよく似ています...というか、
葱坊主そのものなのかもしれません。

Is this Chives?
The flowers are very similar to 'Negibozu' ; Onion Head ... or
maybe they are 'Negibozu'.

B. 御成小学校 / Onari Primary School

スクスク育つスイカズラ
御成小学校のフェンスを使用して、スイカズラが
伸びやかに育っています。
行手を邪魔されずこんな風に育っているスイカズラを
久しぶりに見ました。

Japanese Honeysuckle Growing Up

The honeysuckle grows freely using the fence of 

Onari Primary School.

It's been a while since I saw honeysuckle growing 

undisturbed like this.

これもスイカズラでしょうか？
Is this also Honeysuckle?

C. '鎌倉小川軒 / Kamakura Ogawaken

図書館の後に、御成通りにある、'鎌倉小川軒'に寄り、いくつかのお菓子を母に買いました。

初めて、小川軒のシュークリームを1つ買いました。

帰宅後、このシュークリームを食べました。

とても美味しかったので次回は複数買いたいと思います。

Kamakura Ogawaken

After the library, we stopped by a sweet shop, 'Kamakura Ogawaken' on Onari-dori street and bought some sweets for my mother.

For the first time, we bought one Ogawaken choux cream.

After returning home, we ate the choux cream.

It was so delicious that I would like to buy more than one next time.

3) 裏通り / Backstreet

今小路 (イマコウジ) の信号機、'御成小学校前'から、若宮大路: '横須賀ガード下'へ続く道は、ひっそりとしています。

ですが、私達が鎌倉に住み始めてから、小さなお店がこの通りには

増えました。

北欧雑貨店 : 'ピエニ・クローネ: pieni-krone'、'クローネ・フス : 

Krone hus' や 水平線ギャラリーもこの道沿いにあります。

スーパーチュニア・ビスタ ミニブルースター

スーパーチュニア・ビスタ ミニブルースターは、

ペチュニアの1つです。

珍しい花だと思って撮影しました。

この花は日本で品種改良され、

ジャパン・フラワー・オブ・イヤー (2016 - 17: ★) で

2つの賞を獲得しています。

Supertunia Vista Mini Blue Star

Supertunia Vista Mini Blue Star is a Petunia.

I thought it was a rare flower and photographed it.

This flower has been bred in Japan and has won 

two awards at the Japan Flower of Year (2016 -17).

Backstreet

The Imakoji street's traffic light : 'In front of Onari Primary School,' to Wakamiya Oji Street ; 'Under Yokosuka Guard 'is quiet.

However, since we started living in Kamakura, there have been more small shops on this street.

Scandinavian miscellaneous goods Shops : 'pieni-krone'', 'krone hus', and 'Horizon Gallery' are also along this road.

4) "WAKUWAKU vol.5"

水平線ギャラリーでは、"WAKUWAKU vol.5" 展が開催中でした。

鎌倉を拠点として制作している、'ONE KAMAKURA'と'かおかおパンダ'のコラボレーションの展覧会でした。

私達は、'かおかおパンダ'さんの作品が好きで、彼女が展覧会を招山ギャラリー・鎌倉山'で開いた時には何度か訪ねています。

この日の展覧会は、偶然知りました。

Suiheisen Gallery : Horizon Gallery.

 "WAKUWAKU vol.5"

The "WAKUWAKU vol.5" exhibition was being held in Suiheisen Gallery : Horizon Gallery.

It was an exhibition of collaboration between 'ONE KAMAKURA' and 'Kaokao Panda', which are based in Kamakura.

We like the work of 'Kaokao Panda' and have visited her several times when she has held her exhibitions in the 'Shouzan Gallery, Kamakurayama'.

I happened to find this exhibition on this day.

 I am energized with a bright picture.

グッズもたくさん作っています。
She also make a lot of goods.

以前、お誕生日のキャンドルのステッカーを買い、
全て使ってしまいました。
同じものが欲しかったのですがありませんでした。

I bought birthday candle stickers before and used them all.

I wanted the same thing, but she didn't have any.

'ピエニ・クローネ' : 'pieni-krone'

店内には入りましたが、今日は何も買いませんでした。

We entered shops, but we didn't buy anything today.

B.'クローネ・フス: krone hus

'クローネ・フス' : 'krone hus' は、裏通りと若宮大路の角に位置しています。
入り口は、若宮大路にあります。

'krone hus' is located on the corner of the back street and 

Wakamiya Oji Street.

The entrance is on Wakamiya Oji Street.

'ピエニ・クローネ'と'クローネ・フス'は、姉妹店です。

'クローネ・フス'の方が大きなお店ですが、実は、'ピエニ・クローネ' の方が先に開店しました。

私にとっては、'ピエニ・クローネ'の方が馴染みがあります。

'pieni-krone'' and' 'krone hus' are sister shops.

'krone-hus' is a bigger shop, but in fact, 'pieni krone' opened earlier.

For me, 'pieni krone' is more familiar.

I photographed this while thinking that I wanted these shoes.

このお店は、こんなにガラス(窓)に絵が描かれていたかしら？
と思いつつ撮影しました。
店内には入りましたが、ここでも何も買いませんでした。

I photographed while thinking,
I wonder if this shop had had such pictures on the glass before?
We entered the shop, but we didn't buy anything here either.

I photographed these without knowing what the shop was.

何の花かわかりません。
綺麗な色と面白い形態だと思います。

I don't know what kind of flower it is.

I think it has beautiful colours and an interesting form.

ワイン専門店ですが鎌倉ビールは売っています。

On Wakamiya Oji

Although it is a wine specialty shop, Kamakura beer is sold.

豊島屋本店
鎌倉土産の第一位はこのお店。

This shop is known as the number one Kamakura souvenir shop.

ここ数年、鎌倉土産としてとても有名になりましたね〜。
いつもは支店で買いますが、今日は支店がお休みだったので
本店まで来ました。

Kurumikko・Main Shop
Over the last few years, it has become very famous
as a souvenir from Kamakura.
We usually buy in a branch shop,
 but today the branch shop was closed,
so we visited the main shop.

7) 鎌倉山 / Kamakurayama

ガラスドアには季節のステッカーが貼られています。

Seasonal stickers are affixed to the glass doors.

素敵な庭です。

Police Box Garden
It's a lovely garden.

ここの交番ではメダカも飼っています。
でもこの水槽にはいないのかも？

Also the police box here has kept 

 Medaka ; Oryzias ; Japanese rice fish.

But maybe not in this water bowl?

交番脇でも植物が育てられています。

Plants are also grown at the side of the police box.

鳥の巣、発見！
鶯の声がとても近くで聞こえました。
でもこの巣は鶯のものではないと思います。

Found, Bird's Nest!

I heard the Japanese Bush Warbler's voice very close by.

But I don't think this nest belongs to 

a Japanese Bush Warbler : Uguisu.

Since Kokemaru is a Wild Grasses shop, 

the display looks like a small field.
