鎌倉大仏
1252年建造と言われていますが、正確な年は不明です。
この銅造大仏以前には、木造大仏がありました。
像高約11.3 m、重量約121 t
Great Buddha

非常に久しぶりにを鎌倉大仏を見に行きました。
彼女は、鎌倉へは複数回来ていますが、まだ一度も鎌倉大仏を見たことがないというので、今回はぜひということで、一緒に出かけました。
鎌倉大仏は、2016年1月から3月に保全修理が行われましたが、その後の大仏さまを見ていないので、私にとっても良い機会でした。

高徳院・門
高徳院 (コウトクイン)というお寺に大仏様はありますが、 なかなかこのお寺の名前は覚えられません。
不明な点が多いけれども、多くの記述がされていることが
公式サイトに紹介されています。
私はこのお寺のサイト、好きです。
特に 古絵図が私には興味深い！

had not seen the Great
Buddha (大仏 Daibutsu) in Kamakura, Kanagawa
Prefecture for
a long time.
K chan, one of my friends visited me from Kansai.
She had visited Kamakura several times, although she said she had never seen the Great Buddha, so we went there together this time.
The Great Buddha was repaired from January to March 2016, however, I did not see the Buddha after that, so it was a good opportunity for me.

もともとは大仏殿の中に設置されていた大仏様ですが
現在はご覧の通り、自然とともに鎮座していらっしゃいます。
像そのものは、当時のままが保存され、その点は 修復を重ねてオリジナル部分が少ない奈良の大仏様よりも 貴重なのかもしれません。
The

当時の建造物の中で、この大仏が金箔で覆われていた様は
今以上に、人々を惹きつけたことでしょう。

Daibutsu : 大仏 or Osaragi
作家の大佛 次郞 (オサラギジロウ/1897 -1973)氏が思い浮かびます。
『鞍馬天狗』(初版 1924 )『鼠小僧次郎吉』(初版1931) シリーズを書かれた作家
です。
どちらもテレビドラマ化されたり、映画化され、有名ですね。
私は鎌倉に住み始めてから、この作家を知りましたが、未だに小説は読んでいません。
まあ、ずっと読まないかも？？？
Daibutsu : 大仏 or Osaragi
The Great Buddha is Daibutsu : 大仏 in Japanese.
The
place where the Great Buddha is built was originally called
"Osaragi : 大仏 "
in Hase, Kamakura.
In Japan sometime its surname "Osaragi" is written 大仏 / 大佛 : "Big Buddha".
A writer, Jirō Osaragi (大佛 次郞 / 1897-1973) comes to mind.
He wrote novels, "Kurama Tengu"(1924) and "Nezumi Kozō Jirokichi" (1931) .
Kurama means Mount Kurama, and Tengu is one of the creatures in Japanese folk
religion.
According to Wikipedia about Tengu,
"Tengu (Japanese: 天狗, "heavenly dog") are a type of legendary creature found in Japanese folk religion. In Shinto, they are considered kami (gods) or yōkai
(supernatural beings). "
According to Wikipedia about "Nezumi Kozō Jirokichi",
"Nezumi Kozō (鼠小僧) is the nickname of Nakamura Jirokichi (仲村次郎吉, 1797 - 1831), a Japanese thief and folk hero who lived in Edo (present-day Tokyo) during the Edo period."
Both were made into TV dramas or films, and they are popular in Japan.

"大仏像に向かって右側の回廊内壁には、常陸太田市松栄町（旧郡戸村）に活動拠点を置く松栄（まつざか）子供会によって奉納された、長さ1.8m、幅0.9m、重量45kgにも及ぶ大きな藁草履がかけられています。
この草履の制作・奉納は、戦後間もない1951年、「大仏様に日本中を行脚し、万民を幸せにしていただきたい」と願う、茨城県久慈郡(現常陸太田市松栄町)の子供達によって始められました。
松栄町会はその事績も後世に伝えつつ、1956年以降、3年に一度巨大な藁草履の制作を試み、当院への寄進を続けておられます。"
According to their site about Warazori (traditional Japanese straw sandals),
"On
the inside wall of corridor to the right facing the Great Buddha rest
a pair of huge warazori (length: 1.8 meters; width: 0.9 meters;
weight: 45 kilograms), a gift from the Matsuzaka Children’s Club of
Hitachi-Ota City (Ibaraki Prefecture).
The warazori were first woven
and donated by the children in 1951, at a time when Japan was still
recovering from the ravages of World War II, with the wish that “the
Great Buddha would don them to walk around Japan, bringing happiness
to the people.”
The Matsuzaka Children’s Club keeps this
tradition alive to this day: since 1956, they have continued to make
these giant warazori and present them to Kotoku-in once every three
years."
Kちゃんは、旅行に行った先々で、ソフトクリームを食べているそうで、今回も若宮大路沿いにある、ソフトクリーム屋さん: "ぎゅう舎 "に行きました。

When K chan travels she likes to eat an ice-cream, so we went to an ice-cream shop :
"Gyusha", which is on Wakamiya
Ōji street.
She
was happily eating delicious ice-cream.
I
did not eat ... Well, I do not hate, but I do not love them.
It was good she looked happy!
