兵庫県立美術館は、2010年に関西旅行をした際、滞在中2度、訪ねました(下記)。

Hyōgo Prefectural Museum of Art
When I had Kansai Trip in 2010, I visited Hyōgo Prefectural Museum of Art twice, below.

This time R wanted to visit the Museum, so I made the plan for him.
The museum is in "HAT Kobe" : (HAT ; Happy Active Town / Districts developed as Eastern Kobe City)", Kobe City, Hyōgo Prefecture and opened in 2002.
The nickname is "Art of Residence", designed by Tadao Ando (1941 -)

2) サン・シスター / Sun Sister

過去・現在・未来を見つめ、希望の象徴としての
「輝く太陽」を手に持ち大地に立つ少女。
この作品は美術館前に設置されているだけで、美術館の所蔵作品ではありません。

and she holds the "Shining Sun" as a symbol of hope in her hand.
This work is set up in front of the Museum,
though it is not from the Museum collections.

私は、ヤノベ ケンジというアーティストを知りませんでした。
"「Sun Sister」 は、阪神・淡路大震災(1995)20年のモニュメントとして建立されました。
という記述があります(★)。
ですが、"サン・シスター " (Sun Sister) の背景がわかり、また、"サン・チャイルド" (Sun Child)という作品があるのを知りました。
"サン・シスター "の進化バージョン(?)の"フローラ, 2015 (Flora)"もあるのを知りました。
3作品の意図や表現が明確でストレートなのは、現代美術の世界では珍しいと思い感心しました。
彼は、災害の被害者の方々に重きを置いて作品制作をしているようなので、直接的な表現は親切だと思います。
疲れていたり、傷ついていたりするときは、長々しい説明は疲労をまし、想像力と知識をフル回転させないとわからない作品は、見たくもないのではないかと思います。
ヤノベ ケンジ氏は、海外へ向けて、漫画やアニメを武器とする日本の文化の中で生まれたアーティストであると感じます。
1960~70年代に流行ったポップ・アートのロイ・リキテンスタイン (1923 -1997)を思い起こします。
今、気がつきましたが、最近の漫画やアニメキャラクターをベースにする日本の現代美術は、ポップ・アートとその背景が似ているように思います。
フィギュアを巨大化した、エドゥアルド・パオロッツィ(1924 -2005) の作品を思い出します。
私の感覚としては、ここ10~20年の間、学者である方々の中から、現代美術のアーティトが出てきて、もてはやされているようです。
なので、ヤノベ ケンジ氏にようなストレートな作品を制作するアーティトが認められることは好ましいな〜と思います。

I did not know of the artist, Yanobe Kenzi : ★ (only in Japanese, but you can see his works)
There is a description "★" about Sun Sister, below. (Translated by me)
"「Sun Sister」was erected as a monument in the 20th Anniversary year of the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake(1995).
「Sun Sister」looks like a sister of「Sun Child, 2012」in Ibaraki City, Osaka Prefecture which prays for reconstruction after the Great East Japan Earthquake (2011) and watches over reconstructions and new replacements from all disasters all over the world. "
I understand the background of "Sun Sister" and I also found that there is a work called "Sun Child".
Moreover I found out that there is another work, "Flora, 2015", which is an evolved version of "Sun Sister".
The intention and expression of the three works are straight and direct, I think it is rare in the contemporary art world and I admire.
He seems to be making works to encourage the victims of disasters as well, so I think that his direct expression is kind.
When people are tired or hurt, long full explanations make them more tired and these people wouldn't see works which would require their full imagination and knowledge for understanding.
I feel the artist, Yanobe Kenzi, came from parts of Japanese culture, Manga and animations.
His work reminds me of Roy Lichtenstein (1923 - 1997) in the pop art boom of the 1960s and the 1970s.
Now, I notice that Japanese contemporary art, based on recent Manga and animated characters, seems to be similar to pop art and its background.
I recall the huge figure work by Eduardo Paolozzi (1924 – 2005), above.
My feeling is that artists in contemporary art from the past 10 to 20 years have come from among scholar types and seem to be popular.
So I am pleased that an artist like Yanobe, who produces straightforward works, is accepted in the contemporary art world.
3) カフェ / Cafe
実は兵庫県立美術館到着後、まっさきに行ったのがカフェでした。
神戸は、"カフェの町"という認識があって、滞在中、カフェでブランチもしくはランチをとる予定でしたので、ホテルは素泊まりにしていました。
なので、最初はカフェだったのです。
Actually, we went straight to a cafe after arriving at the Hyōgo Prefectural Museum of Art.
I had my thought that Kobe is a "Town of Cafes" and in my plan, we would visit a few cafes for our brunch or breakfast, so we just stayed in a hotel without booking breakfast.
Therefore, firstly a cafe.

本館は '展示棟'、こちら側は、'ギャラリー棟' と呼ばれています。
カフェから海が見えます。
The cafe is on the right, the main building on the left.
The main building is called 'Exhibition Wing', and this side is called 'Gallery Wing'.
We can see the sea from the cafe.

サンドイッチの日付が間違っていたので、スタッフに伝えました。
