㉘ケント旅行 / Kent Trip - Ashford, 3) B&B in Ashford - 30th of June ~ 1st of July

写真をたくさん撮ったので、3回にブログを分けています。

I took many photographs and show them in three sections.


 朝食 / Breakfast
B&B (Bed and Breakfast / 
ベッド アンド ブレックファースト：朝食)
を探す時のポイントに、大きなポイントをしめる朝食の'デキ'。
ここも朝食重視で選びましたが、期待を裏切りませんでした。

When I look for B&B, it is very important 
how good the breakfasts are.
I decided here, because of breakfast.
They did not betray my expectations. 


この大きなテーブルは、樫の木で出来ています。
ランドレディ、キャロラインの祖父母の農場で
第二次世界大戦の際に英国空軍の離陸場確保のために
切られた木の一片です。

This big table made of oak tree.
The timber came from the landlady,
Caroline's grandparents' farm 
when trees were felled to make space for an RAF airfield.
お花もきれいで新鮮！
彼らの庭からでしょうか？

The flowers are beautiful and fresh!
Do they come from B&B's garden?

私には、ちょっとキッシュに感じるデザインの
ポートメリオン (1960 ~)の食器も
カントリーの雰囲気のする家には似合うのね〜と.....。
このシリーズは一番よく知られていると思われる'Bortanic Garden'.

For me, the design of Portmeirion tableware (since 1960)
 is a little kitch, although I think when they are in an atmosphere
of a country house, they appear well.....
I think this series 'Botanic Garden' :  is well as  known. 

このジャムラベルは初めてです。
私は殆どジャムは使用しないので、味はわかりません。

The labels are new for me.
I rarely have jam, so I do not know the taste.
これはメニューの中のひとつ、'Kentish toast' / ケント風トースト
ベルギーから来た家族が分けてくれました。
私は甘いのが苦手でお腹もいっぱいだったので
食べませんでしたが、
Rは食べて、美味しかったようです。
日本のフレンチトーストによく似ていると思います。

This is one of the menu choices :'Kentish toast'
A family came from Belgium, they allowed us to try their toast.
I do not fancy sweets and I was full,
so R finished and enjoyed it.
I think it is similar to French toast in Japan.

 建物 / Building
駐車場；
ストーン グリーン ファーム / Stone Green Farm 
この建物はケントの旅をしてる間によく見かけ、
何だろうか？と思っていました。
もともとはホップを乾燥させるための建物だそうです。
今は、違う用途のものも数あるようです。
ホップの和名はセイヨウカラハナソウ(西洋唐花草)
屋根の白いトンガリがかわいい！

Car Park；
Stone Green Farm 
While we had a Kent trip, we sometimes saw buildings like this.
I wonder what it is.
Here, I knew basically it is for drying hops (Humulus lupulus). 
Nowadays often people use in different ways.
The pointed-top roof is cute!

もとはここはキッチンでした。
木の梁は15世紀のもの。
この家は古いものを上手に利用しています。

 Living-room
Here was a kitchen.
The beams are the 15th century.
This house uses old things well.

'くまのプーさん'コレクション
実はこの英国旅行中に'プーさんの森'へも行く計画を持っています。

 'Winnie-the-Pooh' Collection!
Actually I have a plan to visit 'Pooh's Forest' in this British trip..




クラシックカーが好きなのだな〜と
この写真を見て思いました。
私達が滞在中にクラシックのジャガーを購入されたので、
やっぱり〜〜！と.....

When I looked at these photographs,
I thought they must be fans of classic cars.
Then while we stayed there, they bought a classic Jaguar car.
I knew it..... 
プーさんだけでなく、パンディントンも居ます！
 Not only 'Winnie-the-Pooh' but also Paddington Bear is here !  


 Bosworth Room

最初にこの部屋に泊まることになっていました。

この家で最も古い15世紀の部分です。
部屋はとても素敵で気に入ったのですが、トイレ、シャワーとも
部屋から出たところにあります。
それで、一緒になっている別の部屋に泊まらせてもらいました。
部屋そのものは、こちらの方が好きでしたので、自分でも非常に残念！


Firstly, we expected to stay in this room.
It is the oldest part of the house from the 15th century.
I like the room, although a shower and a toilet are outside the room.
Then they allowed us to move to another room :
 'Doodlebug Room' which is en-suite.
I like  'Bosworth Room' more than another room, 
so that's too bad for me.


このB&Bは、オーガニックの洗剤でシーツ等を洗っています。
シャンプーなど、羊毛から作ったものだそうで、
私には初めてでした。
効力は、まあまあかな？

They wash sheets and so on with organic soap.
They give us a shampoo and others based on sheep wool oil.
They work so so?
大きな梁は12世紀代のもの。
The large beams are from the early 12 century. 
素敵なのですが、やはり部屋からいちいち出るのが
私には苦に感じられました。

It is lovely, although for me, 
it hard work every time going out of our room
for a little girl's room.
この鏡も好き！
I like this mirror, too!

Doodlebug Room
部屋の前
古い壁土を故意的に残しています。
ふたつの部屋は向いあっています。

 In front of the Room 
They deliberately leave old mud wall.
The two rooms face each other. 
この部屋に泊まりました。
We stayed in this room.

こちらの部屋にはお風呂とシャワーがあります。
This room has a bath and a shower.

㉖ケント旅行 / Kent Trip - Ashford, 1) B&B in Ashford - 30th of June ~ 1st of July


ストーン グリーン ファーム / Stone Green Farm

ストーン グリーン ファーム / Stone Green Farm に２泊しました。
家も庭もとても素敵！

We stayed two nights in the B&B: Stone Green Farm in  Ashford.
Their house and garden are lovely.
写真をたくさん撮ったので、3回にブログを分けます。
I took many photographs there, I show them in three sections.
6月30日
ドーバーからアッシュフォードに向かう車の中から
ドーバーの崖の上を撮影しました。

30th of June
I took this photograph of 'White Cliff of Dover' from our car
on our way towards Ashford.
6月30日
アッシュフォードのB&B: Stone Green Farmの駐車場の前
ドーバーから車で20分ほどの所なのですが、
こんな風に晴れています。

 30th of June
In front of the Car park of B&B: Stone Green Farm.
Here takes about 20 minutes from Dover by car,
although it is sunny like that. 
庭 / Garden
到着後、すぐにこんな素敵なセットを用意していただきました。
ありがとうございます！
広々とした庭を眺めながらいただきました。

We arrived there, they gave us a lovely tea set at once.
Thank you very much!We enjoyed them 
while we looked at the wide garden.
オオバン(大鷭)の雛でしょうか？
Are they Eurasian Coot's chicks?
こんな大きな木がある〜〜！
あとで知ったのですが、
向こう側の木々の部分も彼らの庭でしたあ〜！
彼らは、6エイカー ( 6acres / 約24,281㎡)の
庭、野原、林を持っています。
私にはその広さが想像ができないです！

There is a big tree~~ in the garden, like this!
I knew later that beyond the tree is their garden, too~!
They have 6 acres of garden, field and woodland.
I cannot imagine the area.











 


コマドリ
英国では庭によくいるコマドリ(ヨーロッパ コマドリ) / Robinは、
英国の国鳥です。
カードやお土産のカップのデザインによく使用されます。
マザー•グースにも、クックロビン:  Cock Robin
として登場します。
この庭にもいました！

 Robin
This bird is often seen in gardens in Britain.
It is Britain's national bird. 
So it appears in many card designs and souvenir cups.
It is in 'Mother Goose', too ; Cock Robin
And also here is, too!
