❺8月31日- 二階堂の花と、満月 / Flowers in Nikaido, and Full Moon, 31st of August

1) 二階堂の花 / Flowers in Nikaido

二階堂には、たくさんのサルスベリがあったことを、今年初めて気がつきました。

It was the first time I realized this year that there are many Sarusuberi : Crape myrtle, Lagertroemia india, in Nikaido.

2) 今宵は満月じゃ〜！

     Tonight is Full Moon~!

鎌倉に住まいはじめてから、
満月がとても明るいことに気がつきました。

After I came to live in Kamakura, 
I understand that a full moon is very bright.

❹8月31日- 鎌倉市役所 / Kamakura City Office, 31st of August

1) コンポスト / Compost

鎌倉市は、日本で一番のリサイクルシティだそうです。

コンポストも市役所の敷地内にあり、無料で持って行く事ができます。

もちろん、自分でですよ！


Compost

Kamakura City recycles the most of any city in Japan.

The compost is free, and in front of  the City Office. 

Of course, you take it yourselves. 



2) 市役所  / The City Office

自然の中にあるって感じの市役所ですね〜。
The Office is set in a natural world, isn't it?

3) 歩道 / Pavement 

今まで、気がつかなかった！
市役所前の歩道の排水溝のコンクリートの蓋に
小石が埋め込まれています。
英国のコッブルストーン(cobblestones)のミニチュア版のようです。
このような所まで、景観を配慮しているので、関心しました。

I did not notice before today.
The small stones are embedded in the concrete lid of the drain.
It looks like a miniature version of cobblestones in Britain. 
I am impressed that even here,  
by the pavement in front of the Office, 
they care about the appearance. 

❸8月31日- Onari Cafe, 31st of August

江の電鎌倉駅に到着したのが、ちょうどお昼時で、市役所は

ランチタイムで閉まっています。

私もOnari Cafeで一息つきました。

When I arrived in Enoden Kamakura Station, it was just noon, so the City Office had lunch-time.

I had rest-time in Onari Cafe.

久しぶりのOnari Cafe.
I hadn't visited here for a long time.

ホッとした時間
お腹はすいていたけれど、食事をとる気がせず、
'フレッシュオレンジのレアチーズケーキセット'
をいただきました。

Relax Time
I felt hungry, though I did not have a meal, 
 I had 'Fresh Orange Jelly Cheese Cake' set.

かわいく撮れたので、ブログの９月の表紙に使おうかな？
I think this is lovely, so I might use it 
as a cover of my blog in September.

❷8月31日- 江の電 / Enoden: 'Toy Train', 31st of August

1) 七里ケ浜駅 / Shichirigahama Station

I follow the train to Fujisawa with my eyes.

鎌倉行き！
これに乗ります。

This train is going to the Enoden Kamakura Station.
I will get on this.

2) 江の電の窓からの景色 
    The Views are From Enoden, 'Toy Train'

山 (丘？) が削られて、痛々しい。
(もしくは、土砂崩れの後？)

It is painful that this mountain (hill?) was cut away.
 (Or was it a landslide?)

❶8月31日- 七里ケ浜 / Shichirigahama Beach, 31st of August

1) 家探し / Looking for Our New House

七里ケ浜より江ノ島を見る
From Shichirigahama Beach to Enoshima Island

今の家の契約が来年はじめに切れます。

なので、ずっと次の家を探していますが、なかなか見つかりません。

私が自宅にスタジオを持ちたいので、その条件にあう家がないのです。

七里ケ浜に条件に近い家を見つけたので、本日は内見に出かけました。

内見した家は、悪くはありませんが、ここに住みたい！というほどの気持ちにはなりませんでした。

その帰りに、七里ケ浜へ行きました。

 Looking for Our New House

The tenancy of our house  will finish early next year, so I have been looking for our new house.

It is quite difficult to find a good one in Kamakura, because I would like to have my studio in the house and most houses do not have the right space.

Today, I visited Shichirigama area and looked at a possible house.

The house is alright, although I did not get the feeling that I wanted to live there.   

After viewing the house, I went to Shichirigahama Beach.

2) 海 / Sea

七里ケ浜は、海食台で、複雑な波がたつため、サーフィンには適していますが、遊泳にはむかず、遊泳禁止地区です。

今日の浜は、静かでした。

サーファーも、少ないように思えました。

まあ、平日の昼間ですからね〜、人影は少なくて当然かな？

のんびり、ゆったりした空気がありました。

海のむこうに気持ちが広がって行きます。
ああ〜、すごく開放感がある〜！
ときどきは、こうして海の良さを感じるのは素敵！
潮風も心地良い日でした。 

Sea

The beach is described as an abrasion platform which makes complicated waves, so it suits surfing, although it does not suit swimming, therefore the beach is "No Swimming".

The beach was quiet. 

Even the surfers were few. 

Well, it was a weekday and in daytime, so it might be the usual number of people. 

It was peaceful there. 

I feel my heart spread over the sea.
Ah! There is spaciousness!
It is wonderful that sometimes I have a flavour of the sea like this.
The briny air is comfortable, too.

あちらは、材木座海岸？
Over there is Zaimokuza Beach?

あちらは江ノ島
友人Y に勧められて、江ノ島を舞台にした"つり球"(2012)
というアニメをネットで見ました。
なかなか、おもしろかった！
"千と千尋の神隠し"(2001)のハク役声優、
入野自由(イリノ ミユ)氏が、
宇宙人ハルの声を担当していました。

Over there is Enoshima Island
My friend Y recommended me an animation : "Turidama"(2012)
which is set on Enoshima Island.
I watched it on the Internet and it was fun!
Miyu Irino acted HARU who is an alien.
In addition, Miyu Irino  acted HAKU in "Spirited Away".
(Director Hayao Miyazaki, 2001)

この駐車場は、1960年代に七里ケ浜地区に住宅街を作る際に
出た残土で埋め立て作られました。
今、それをすると、かなり問題になるでしょうが、
当時は、できてしまったのですね。

This car park was built up from earth dug out of a construction site 
for Shichirigahama Housing in the 1960s.
If it were planted today, 
it would become the subject of public discussion,
however, at that time they went ahead anyway.

もっと居たかったけれど、自分の身体の調子が心配だったのと、
鎌倉市役所に行く用事があったので、ほんの少し居ただけでした。

I would stay longer, 
although I worried about the condition of my body
and I needed to visit Kamakura City Office,
so I only stayed there for a short time.

この女性は海辺に住まう方だとわかります。
因に、写真左のビル内に、'世界一の朝食'と称される(本当〜〜？)
"リコッタパンケーキ"を出す"ビルズ/ bills "があります。
私は行ったことはないし、行くこともないでしょう。

This lady shows me she lives near the beach!
By the way, the building on the left of this photograph, 
 is "bills".
They serve "Ricotta Pan Cake" and say it is 
 'The Best Breakfast All Over The World'. 
(Is it true?)
I have never visited there, nor will I. 

またね〜〜！

由比ケ浜の夜-8月25日 / Night in Yuigahama Beach - 25th of August

H さん & TJ カップルが、夜に、Kちゃんと私を由比ケ浜に連れて行ってくださいました。

H san & TJ couple took me and K chan to Yuigahama Beach at night.

由比ケ浜

由比ケ浜は、湘南の中では最も有名で、にぎやかでした。

８月最後の土曜の夜ということもあったと思います。

人々は、最後の夏を楽しんでいたのでしょうし、私達もです。

ただ、富士山の景色を楽しむのなら、材木座海岸の方です。

Yuigahama Beach

Yuigahama Beach is the most popular beach in Shonan, 
so it was quite busy.

Moreover, it was the last Saturday night in August, or 'Summer'.

People enjoyed the last holiday of summer, us too. 

However, Zaimokuza Beach is better 
for looking at Mt. Fuji than Yuigahama Beach.

由比ケ浜は、相模湾にあります。

Yuigahama Beach is part of Sagami Bay.

「湘南」とは、もともと現在の中国の湖南省を流れる
湘江の南部のことで、かつては長沙国湘南県が存在し、
中世には禅宗のメッカとなった。
日本における「湘南」も禅宗の流入に伴って広まったと考えられ、
「禅宗」を保護した鎌倉幕府の北条得宗家が居し、
国内初の禅寺「建長寺」や「円覚寺」を擁した鎌倉周辺の地域が、
中国の「湘南」にちなんで名付けられたといわれる。

そうなんだ〜、知りませんでした!
(でも、英語のウィキペディアでは、違う説明がされています)

民族料理店が集まる海の家

私達は、海の家で食事ををするために、ここに来ました。

この海の家は民族料理店が集まっています。

主にタイ料理で、私達もほとんどタイ料理をいただきました。

楽しい夏の晩でした。

 Ethnic Food Shops

We came here for a meal in the beach hut.

This beach huts has a few ethnic food shops and 

they all share tables and seats, and we shared our table. 

There are mainly Thai stalls and we mostly had Thai dishes.
I enjoyed the summer night!
