1) 回転展望レストラン / Rotary View Restaurant

回転展望レストラン
火の山山頂、標高268mにある回転展望レストランは、一時間に360度回ります。

このレストランのトイレと公衆トイレはすべて和式で、

脚の手術をしている私には使用できませんでした。

地方へ行くと結構ある状態なのですが、

最近は障害者用の洋式トイレが一つは、多くの場で設置されているので、

ここはその点ではちょっと遅れているようです。

Rotary View Restaurant 
The Rotary View Restaurant is on the top of Mount Hino, altitude, 268m 

and rotates 360 degree in an hour.

This restaurant's toilet and a public toilet are all Japanese style.

I had operations for my legs so I cannot use the style.

These conditions are often in the countryside,

although nowadays many places have at least one toilet for handicapped people,

so here is a little behind on this point.

フグのてんぷら盛りあわせ 

下関はフグが名物です。天然フグ、全国水揚げ 約8割がここに集まり、

殆どの養殖フグも集まり、売買され、毒処理加工された後で全国へ運ばれます。

Fugu is a well known product of Shimonoseki.

80% of Natural Fugu and most Fugu hatchery are assembled in Shimonoseki,

are merchandised and then they go to all Japan after removing the poison.

関門トンネル人道入口は右下。

Moji Port is above left Kanmon Bridge.
Entrance of Kanmon Tunnel is left bottom.

巌流島 ：★
巌流島 (ガンリュウジマ) は一番手前の平たい島で、無人島です。

宮本武蔵 (1584 - 1645) と佐々木小次郎 (? - 1612) の決闘の場所として

有名ですね。

その後ろは、彦島、壇ノ浦の戦 (1185) の際には平家が本陣を置きました。

そしてまた、彦島は、馬関(下関)戦争の講和条約の際には、
租借地になりかけましたが、高杉晋作 (1839 - 1867) が拒否し続け、守ったと、

伊藤博文 (1841 - 1909) は言っています。

Ganryū-jima : Ganryū lisland

Ganryū-jima is this side and is flat. 

Ganryū-jima is located in Kanmon Straits which is between Honshū and Kyūshū.

It is famous for the duel between 

Miyamoto Musashi (1584 - 1645) and Sasaki Kojirō (? - 1612) .

Behind the Iisland is Hikojima Iisland.

When it was the Battle of Dan-no-ura in 1185, 

the Heike (Taira) clan placed its headquarters in the Hikojima Iisland.

And also Itō Hirobumi (1841 - 1909) said that 

when we had the peace treaty of the Shimonoseki Campaign,

 the Hikojima Island became nearly a leased territory (Conssesion),

although Takasugi Shinsaku (1839 - 1867) had refused and eventually protected.

戦艦大和 (進水1940 - 就役1941)の46cm主砲弾

当時、史上最大の砲弾でした。

全長 : 1.95ｍ / 重量 : 1.740Kg / 最大射程 : 42.000ｍ

何故ここに？と疑問でしたが...

[中国火薬株式会社が、瀬戸内海で 砲弾処理をしていた頃に引き揚げたもの。

1958年、下関市制施行 70周年記念に開催された「下関博覧会」 に展示、

その後火の山ロープウェイ 開通時に寄贈された。 ]

義経像や長州砲は、観光気分で見られましたが

これに何か複雑な思いを抱くのは、第二次世界大戦 (1939 - 1945) が

すべて過去ということに私にとっては、なっていないからでしょう。

The Main Battery, 46cm of Japanese Battleship Yamato (Struck : 1940 - Fate:1941)

At that time, the Battery was the largest in history.

[When " Chūgoku Gunpowder Company cleaned up the cannonball processing area in the Seto Inland Sea, they pulled it up".

 Afterwards this was displayed in Shimonoseki Exhibition for the 70th anniversary of municipal organization in 1958, this was donated from the Company to Hino-yama ropeway opening to traffic.]

I could look at Yoshitsune Statue or Chōshū  Cannons with sightseeing feeling,

however, I have complicated feelings about this,

because perhaps the World War II (1939 - 1945) was not 

all so far in the past for me.
